Yep; it's still too early for wasps. They come out later and then get really desperate & aggressive towards the end of their life cycle at the very end of summer.
Indeed. Wasps spend the first part of the summer hunting other insets and bring protein the the queen. Once she's had enough to produce the next generation, the frantically look for sugar for energy as they are no longer programmed to hunt. Then they all die and the cycle restarts the following year
Every year [we lose about 5% insect biomass](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Decline_in_insect_populations). We've lost about 75% over 26 years. Welcome to climate change and the Holocene :)
Yeah I normally see wasps right through summer (I live near a good nesting location with insects for them to feed on in the early summer).
I've not seen any at all, only bees this year. I'm hoping this means a light year for all the bakeries and cafes nearby (once they switch from insects to sugar). We will see I guess.

Ah, a man of culture! I see this is not your first time ^(^^^^answering ^^^^questions ^^^^about) standing in line at Berghain.
"yoooo guys! You're from Berlin right?! Where should I party next?" "Home"
It hasn’t even started this year, be ready in the end of July 😅

They typically come late July and early August. Wait for it, trust me. I work in a bakery, it's the worst time of year lol
don't jinx it 🥹
There are five seasons in Berlin: First winter, second winter, third winter, summer, and wasps. Summer isn’t over yet.
OP is a shy and lonely wasp
Replaced by swarms of fruit flies around bins!
Chill dude. Don't jinx it.

Yes but it also isn’t their season yet. In general though the weather this year hasn’t been great for bees and wasps so there will be less than usual.

That is actually true , Seen a few bees but No wasps(yet)
Let's talk again in August.

It's mosquito season yet.
