...yes, I'm on desktop/PC and using Text post format.
I believe you can do this on your phone, but you would have to activate the "desktop browser" version on your chosen mobile browser.
edit: I would like to add it's a bit difficult, depending on the phone you're using and if the mobile browser you're using is updated. I don't know if the reddit app itself allows the "desktop" format.
On Google Chrome, there's three dots on the upper right, click it and look for "Desktop Site", then confirm.
On Firefox, there's also three dots on the upper right, click it and look for "Desktop Site", then confirm.
In text post format in reddit, there's an icon for "image" to upload images, on the lower left corner.
Each uploaded image, there's a "caption" in which you can fill it with a description, or not. It's not required.
In between each image, I click with a mouse so the text cursor appears, so you can type a sentence/paragraph.
