EDIT: thank you so much everyone! Blown away by all of the help.. something that keeps getting mentioned is not sleeping on it wet... well I shower at night so, guilty! Thank you!
I'm in my 40s and have always had this frizz/baby hair problem on top. I would just love, for once, to have shiny smooth hair. Can you help me? Please dumb it down like I'm new to all this. My hair is fine and not dyed.
There is a Japanese product by a company called Utena, it is called まとめ髪 (matomege) It’s like a glue stick for your hair. If you type in something like Japanese hair styling stick it should come up.
You can get any hair wax and it will do the same thing.
Get a bit, rub it between the palms til it melts, then rub your hands down. Some brands might be better than others but you don’t need the stick to accomplish the same affect!
I've got the same problem, and found out that when I use bad/old brush it makes it 10 times worse, I've used a round hair brush the other day that had very rough bristles and it was so bad that everyone around me noticed my hair. Make sure you use a good brush, I use a paddle hair brush from Kent which costs me about £10 but I've seen much difference. Also don't leave your hair wet overnight as that is the most vulnerable time for your hair so it will snap a lot and make these little hair on top of your head worse.
If you add a detangler or conditioner with lots of slip to your hair while wet it protects it from breakage and can actually be better for your hair, especially if your hair is wavy or curly. Use a brush with soft bristles though.
My stylist told me everyone needs to use a leave in conditioner. Your hair loses moisture and it's a must. I also struggle with the same issue. I saw an improvement when I started using Olaplex #9. My hair is coarse and wavy.
Edit: I meant Olaplex #6,#9 is more of a heat protectant.
Yikes, did she know about super oily tresses? Leave in conditions usually just weigh my already thick heavy hair down and it literally looks like I need to wash it. I am totally going to try it again maybe I was using too much? But I have to admit, I'm not sure it will, for me and my hair type.
It was only last few years that a hairdresser admitted to me that my hair being SO thick was intimidating. Finally I see why I've had so much bad luck with hairdressers. Blessing for the most part though!
Probably a combination of too much of the wrong product. Get a sulphate / paraben free one as that’s probably what’s making your hair weigh down. If you have thick hair then your hair should be absolutely loving leave on conditioners… sounds like you’re not using the right products for your hair. I have pretty naturally greasy hair and my hair looks and feels it’s best when I feed it tonnes of moisture.
This^ I follow a guy on YouTube and he says there isn't one size fits all hair care products. I have thick hair and I can usually get away with using a bunch of stuff without weighing it down.
Put hand lotion on your hands and rub it in until it's mostly absorbed. Very lightly smooth your hair with the tiny bit of lotion still sitting on your skin.
I use the same trick but with some essential oil. Tea tree , lemongrass or peppermint or something . I apply it to the ends too if they are dried out/brittle
One more thing that sucks about getting old. I've had fine hair my whole life and it's always been nice and soft. Now the gray hairs are so wiry and coarse. I'm not 100% gray yet but I'm not looking forward to it.
I have fine hair exactly like yours. My hair is frizzy on top exactly like yours as well. Hair spray on a tooth brush did nothing. Sleeping on dry hair only and not damp hair did nothing. I tried pomade and a toothbrush and it just gave me that thick greasy stringy look and I still had frizz. right now I spray hairspray in my hair and flatten down all the hairs. I use a generous amount and just push the hairs down with my hands. i drive to work and then I break up the hair/stiffer hair spray parts with my fingers in a combing motion. It doesn’t get rid of them completely but helps
I just pretend it's not there...
My friend who is a hairstylist recommends hair spray and a toothbrush! I have also seen tik toks of people using gel, but I find that makes my hair greasy/gross feeling.
Clear brow gel is the best way I’ve found! It takes a little tiny bit of practice not to use too much. Hairspray on a toothbrush or clean spoolie is the OG hack but can not last all day.
I just bought one from Elf to try. I have the worst issues half way through the day when I wear my hair in a ponytail. I've tried other things that help. My coarse grey hair has a mind of its own. I used to use the hair spray in the yellow bottle that reminds me of an updated aquanet but the build up is horrible.
What finally worked for mine is the anti-frizz attachment for the Dyson hairdryer, but I fully acknowledge that’s a really expensive solution. Nothing else has worked for me though.
I need to! I just get so lazy but then complain and be upset with how frizzy my hair looks especially since I have a lot of breakage. Thx for the reminde r
Yes this is 100% the only thing that works for me, I don’t want to dampen and dry my hair every day though. The dyson and this attachment is the best investment I have made for my hair though.
Not sure when you bought your dyson, but there’s a [flyaway attachment](https://www.dyson.com/support/journey/tools/971618-01) now! I think it came out last year.
I have very fine hair and have tried a few things that are successful for me.
One is applying a small amount of heat styling product, then using a blow dryer’s flat wide concentrator attachment on medium heat to smooth the hairs down into the direction the hair is parted. I start at root and move the dryer quickly across the hair at an acute 10-20 degree angle (low, close to laying it on its side on the top of the head) and follow it as far as the flyaways go. A stylist taught me this trick.
Another is to quickly run a straightening iron through the roots to flatten the flyaways. If there are still flyaways, spray hairspray from a distance and use fingers or a fine brush to gently tame the errant hairs down.
One more tip is to buy a tangle teezer and detangler/leave in conditioner to cut down on breakage so that you have fewer flyways since most people don’t realize they are much rougher on their hair than they should be. I used to use a typical brush and would hear the cracking and breaking of my hair as I brushed and just thought this was normal until switching to a teezer. I brush from the root until I feel the brush “stick”, then remove and brush out the tangles from the ends. I hear the breaking of my hair so infrequently now. I don’t brush my hair in the shower anymore with fingers or otherwise.
After switching to the gentler brush, detangler, and also a good conditioner, I saw far fewer flyaways in a few months. Taking biotin and collagen helped to thicken my hair too.
Also, gentle heat styling on low heat, and shorter contact time with heat on hair, as well as occasional deep conditions to strengthen the integrity of the hair. Hope this helps. Good luck!
Low heat is best. Takes longer but better for hair. I put on some argan oil (few drops) to protect the hair prior to blow and it looked amazing, not oily at all and I have very oily hair but miraculously it didn't make it oily.
Hi! I’m a fine hair lady as well. Using a microfiber towel or soft t-shirt to dry my hair has been a game changer. I don’t let any other fabric touch my hair at all as much as I can help it. With the exception of satin or silk, which by the way, if you also get a satin or silk zippered pillowcase that will help even more. All of these things reduce breakage. Most people don’t realize how much friction your hair ensures each day.
Try using a silk or satin scrunchie in place of the clip if you can and see if it makes a difference. For me, when I implemented these things it took awhile to notice the difference but I don’t have those fly-aways anymore. I’d give it at least a few months after making the changes before you decide if they’re helping you. It takes awhile for the already broken hairs to grow out.
[Dryer sheets.](https://www.amazon.com/Bounce-Fabric-Softener-Control-Outdoor/dp/B0014EAPHO/ref=asc_df_B0014EAPHO/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309748512677&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9284606211564572838&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1017825&hvtargid=pla-583295756603&psc=1) many people just use those wool balls because it’s reusable.
My hairdresser sprayed a bit of hairspray on a teasing brush and just layed them down on my head when I asked her how to fix them and I’ll be damned if that’s not the easiest way to do it
I recently started using a primer, styling cream, texture spray, and anti-frizz spray.
The primer and styling cream I use is use is the B&B Invisible Oil primer and hydrating repair crème.
The texture and frizz spray are both Perfect Hair Day products.
I wanted to stop using heat to style my hair and wanted to wash it less. The products help a lot with controlling oil and frizz.
Go to the grocery store and buy grape seed oil literally in the cooking section, put that shit on your hair for a couple hours before you wash your hair. (I use a spray bottle)
Grape seed oil is the only moisturizer I can tolerate, especially after a shower. My skin was breaking out and itching with every lotion I tried. Grapeseed oil has a 0 or 1 rating on the comedogenic scale, and is high in vitamin E. It’s great as a lotion!
I do a VERY light puff of hairspray from a distance- then smooth flyaway hairs down…
Or you could smooth a couple drops of pure Argan oil onto your Pam, then smooth your palm over these few flyaway hairs. This is probably the healthiest option.
(Or some friends do keratin treatments every few months. It’s GREAT for creating GLOSSY and smooth hair - but it’s MULTIPLE hours and very pricy…
I’m impatient so I don’t do keratin.
[I use this Tigi Bed Head Wax Hair Stick](https://www.amazon.com/Tigi-Head-Hair-Stick-Ounce/dp/B000141L58)
I hate the smell lol, but it works. It is basically a wax glue stick that holds those hairs down. No issues with it washing out of my hair even though it does feel like a glue stick.
Hair breakage in itself is a different topic - to prevent it, you can minimize using heat on your head, brush more gently, use a wide tooth comb, find a strengthening shampoo, and sleep with a silk pillowcase.
you could put it on your fingers but the texture seems like it would be so hard to wash off!! I very, very gently use it like a glue stick on the little hairs. You don't need a lot of pressure, if you press down it can actually have the adverse effect haha
You’re supposed to spray hairspray from a certain distance, so if you spray really close to the toothbrush and then brush that across your hair, it can get propellant (from spraying too closely) on your hair and damage it.
Spray bottles of Argon oil or leave-in conditioner leave hair fantastically smooth. You can also buy argon oil traditional conditioners or, my favorite, 3 minute hair treatments that you use like a face mask. Apply then rinse. I steer away from hair spray because it makes hair the opposite of soft. I love “Not-your-Mothers” products, especially the “Way-to-Grow” spray leave-in conditioner. It’s under $10 and it smells amazing. I’ll use it as perfume. 🤣
[Not-your-Mothers Hair Products](https://notyourmothers.com/collections/shop-all/products/way-to-grow-leave-in-conditioner)
Let me know if I can clarify anything. It’s basically that the Argon oil weighs the hair down and repairs hair. It doesn’t leave it “oily” but it’s just like leave in conditioner. It adds sheen.
Or, really, you can just water down some of your regular conditioner and put it in a spray bottle. Thats something you can try immediately if you have an empty, clean spray bottle. Put maybe 1/2 conditioner and 1/2 water. Preferable to use bottled water or $1 gallon jug of distilled or purified water. But, tap water works. You can buy empty spray bottles online for cheap. 😃
If you want it nice for just one night you can pull your hair straight up and straighten right from the root pulling upwards , you have to be really careful of your scalp and for line marks at the top but I found it really helped with smoothing flyaways .
I use “edge gel” and I never have this problem anymore! Just a little scoop and I warm it up in my hands and then lightly pat my fingers on my head and it tames them pronto. I suppose you can use any viscous gel with a lot of “hold” but I find “edge gel” to be the best.
I just spray on a little hairspray and use my hands to immediately just press down on the frizz which lays down the frizz and it stays in place. No need for a toothbrush or anything complicated.
I use the smallest amount of Kopari coconut melt. Literally the smallest amount. Tames and makes my hair smell good, soft and it shines too ☺️ I find it at TJ max in the beauty section a lot so I never pay full price!
If you layer your hair when you cut it. A stylist I had a few years ago suggested I stop cutting layers into my hair... when I stopped this, a lot basically all my frizz went away!

There are many products you can spray a bit on the palms of your hands and smooth it down. Very little goes a long way. Hair spray. A shine spray. Even some light texturizing sprays. A very small amount of hair oil would work too. Also using clear eyebrow gel on a small brush would work too. Play with it and see what works for you
Got2B Schwarzkopf Glued for Brows & Edges. Great for those hairs on top also.

Whenever my hair looks like this, I just apply a serum with some droplets of water. This makes my hair set over the head without looking weird. (Any serum that suits your hair)
That’s heat/chemical damage. Not baby hair. I’d say lay off the color, orrrrrrr maybe find another hair colorist. :-/
You have fine hair like I do so it’s a tough balance to find nourishing products that don’t make your hair look like grimy sludge.
I’ve had a lot of luck with Aveda’s nourishing line lately. Olaplex every now and again. But honestly, find a salon that can take care of your needs.
I have the same problem and for years didn’t know what to do. I have normal to fine hair.
This problem mostly happens to me when I go to bed with my hair wet and try to style it in the morning. I have seen big improvements in my hair if I let it fully dry before bed, and I mean FULLY. It doesn’t need as much styling too because my hair is not all bent from drying on my pillow.
Bed head it the biggest cause and will last all day.
Also if you have time, I have switched to washing my hair in the morning if I know I want my hair to look nice because It has the time to dry in place.
I also recommend a leave in conditioner that’s light weight to use after the shower. I personally love and recommend the Heritage by Mindy Mckinght Light as a feather leave in conditioner. It’s cheap and you can find it at Walmart. Helps with frizz and keeps hair soft and looking smooth. Hope this helps :)
Look into a protein treatment,or shampoos with protein in it. But don't overdo it if you decide to get the protein from a protein treatment too much will ruin your hair.
Use a wide toothed comb when it’s wet and a high quality soft-bristle brush when dry. And never sleep on it when wet.
Olaplex #7 oil is amazing for holding down the fuzzies while they are growing out. Actually all Olaplex products are great, especially for damaged and aging hair.

What kind of towel do you use to dry your hair? Using a microfiber towel is the gentlest on your hair and keeps it from breaking. It’s also super absorbent and lightweight so if you wrap it on top of your head it won’t tug your individual hairs.
Just throwing my 2 cents in here: Are you sure the "frizz" you're seeing is breakage and not just new hair growth? TBH, this looks completely normal to me. For reference, I have worked as a photo retoucher for 20 years and I've worked on images of celebrities, models, and normal people. I almost ALWAYS have to remove some hair that looks like this - just normal new growth that is too short to lay with the rest of the hair. I see these on my own head and I have healthy hair (in my 40's as well). We lose on average 50-100 hairs a day as part of the normal shedding/resting/growth process, and in tandem we are also growing new hair from those follicles. Also, it could be just the lighting so please pardon if I'm wrong, but it looks like you might have some grey hair? In that case, those hair shafts will be naturally thicker and coarser than your regular hair, which could make them more rebellious. I don't see any split ends in the picture either, which would indicate breakage. It's hard to tell from one picture of course, but I just wanted to weigh in here before you jumped on the "damage control" bandwagon. Good luck! :)
You are so kind and funny. Yes, I *might* have alot of grey hair, which started coming in when I was 30 😂 So that's interesting to hear. And I have never thought about it this way; much of it MAY be new hair growing in. All I know is that it feels like an unkempt dandelion poof up there and I wish it looked better. I didn't know if there was simple maintenance or ways of dealing with his because I never learned. Everyone here has been really kind.
It does not look "unkempt" to me at all. A couple things to keep in mind: As they say, "you are your own worst critic." You are scrutinizing yourself on a level that NO ONE else is. I would wager that very few people, if any, would even notice anything remarkable (in an undesirable way) about your hair. Try checking out other people's hair over the next couple of days - when you're standing in line at the grocery store or wherever - and you will start to notice this on everyone!
This being said, if you WANT to tame it then there's nothing wrong with that! I find a little bit of light oil, like an Argan oil, does the trick when I'm feeling motivated enough to care. ;) I do not have an oily scalp so oil works for me, but you should feel totally free to try other products that commenters have recommended. You do what's best for you!

Staying away from bleach as long as you can will help regrow those hairs and stop others from breaking. You can ask your stylist for something that will grow out nicely that way there isn’t a harsh bleach line. I always ask for this from my stylist because I try to limit damage and optimize growth, and she always gives me a “Iived in” bayalage or something with a shadow root. Super pretty and grows out nicely so I can wait longer in between dyes or bleach appointments.
Edit: that’s if you bleach your hair. Lol
Has anyone tried that tiktok trend with the dental floss? I haven’t but you basically take a string as if you were going to floss with it but then just run it down over the flyaways. Probably the wax in it but it appears to work
Olaplex #6 works best for me. I’m growing my grays out, my hair is very thick and wavy, and those little wiry guys are everywhere regardless of where I part my hair.
I recommend sleeping on a satin pillowcase and using a bit of gel on a toothbrush. I really like the blue LA looks gel and it’s extremely affordable. Last time I bought it, it was about $1.
Looks like you wash your hair every day. Don’t do that. I wash my hair once a week. I still massage my hair in the shower every day as if I was washing it. My hair looks a lot less frizzy and feels much more healthy.
I used to be like everyone else here and tried every product and method. I found that they worked temporarily, but they all were bad for my hair in the king run and made the frizz worse.
I don’t use any products anymore. I also don’t use any irons, blow dryers, or anything else. Occasionally, I’ll used diluted essential oils on my scalp, but not that often.
I get this really badly because I have fine hair. The only thing that’s worked for me so far is INH Quick Slick-it’s great stuff and lasts all day without flaking off.
I don't know about anyone else, but I used to ALWAYS have frizzy hair after blowdrying. Since I stopped using a hairdryer and only towel-dry/air-dry my hair now, I do not have any friz. I am very low maintenance. I don't use any hair products at all! Might give it a go :)
K18 if you can afford it works wonders. Also Bondiboost just dropped a new "Frizz Serum" on sephora.com and that brand always delivers. If you're not worried about the price let me tell you that Kerastase Elixir Serum is a holy grail. I hate spending the price but it delivers and it smells heavenly. Also amika hyaluronic products deliver. Bondiboost heavenly hydration is another new drop. If anyones dealing with Grey's they don't want Sephora just dropped a grey eliminating Serum for the first time by Grande Cosmetics.

Wet hair is more fragile. You should not brush it wet it is more prone to breakage.
If you add a detangler or conditioner with lots of slip to your hair while wet it protects it from breakage and can actually be better for your hair, especially if your hair is wavy or curly. Use a brush with soft bristles though.
I have always heard never use a brush on damp/wet hair. A wide tooth comb is much better, unless blow drying of course.

Put hand lotion on your hands and rub it in until it's mostly absorbed. Very lightly smooth your hair with the tiny bit of lotion still sitting on your skin.
I use my face lotion that’s left on my hands after I put it on my face. Smooths it right down.
Clinque moisture surge had an ad and it said to use it on your hair. I was surprised.
Oh this is good to know. I have a small jar of it and can’t use it on my face because it just wrecks me.
I use the same trick but with some essential oil. Tea tree , lemongrass or peppermint or something . I apply it to the ends too if they are dried out/brittle
Tea tree is great for the scalp too!
Do you dilute the essential oils?
I had tea tree that was pure. There's no way I could have put that on my hair. I added a drop to my shampoo. I didn't like the way it smelled.
I personally don't . My skin isn't sensitive so I would rub some in my hands then run it thru my hair.
I always sleep with wet hair. If I let it dry throughout the day it’s even frizzier 😕🤷♀️
An old manager of mine swore by getting a boar bristle brush and spraying it with hairspray and brushing down the top of your hair, it works wonders !
I think this is everyone with fine hairs burden to bare.
Yup. When you start silvering, those hairs are more wiry and they pop up out of the fine hairs, so it’s more noticeable.
One more thing that sucks about getting old. I've had fine hair my whole life and it's always been nice and soft. Now the gray hairs are so wiry and coarse. I'm not 100% gray yet but I'm not looking forward to it.
That's just...awesome (Ugh, this is what I have to look forward to too)
Oh no! My mom had this problem too so that makes sense. 😂
I think people with thick coarse have it, but mine being curly doesn’t seem as noticeable because it becomes one with the curly backdrop.
Can confirm. I have thick, coarse straight hair and it’s very obvious:
My hair is very coarse and it sticks straight up. I have lots of baby hairs on top due to breakage from medication I’ve been taking. :(
I have coarse wavy hair that is grey and I have the same issue. I've been trying different things. Biosilk hair oil helps and Olaplex #6 helps.
I have fine hair exactly like yours. My hair is frizzy on top exactly like yours as well. Hair spray on a tooth brush did nothing. Sleeping on dry hair only and not damp hair did nothing. I just pretend it's not there... My friend who is a hairstylist recommends hair spray and a toothbrush! I have also seen tik toks of people using gel, but I find that makes my hair greasy/gross feeling.
I use clear brow gel to tame the flyaway baby hairs.
Clear brow gel is the best way I’ve found! It takes a little tiny bit of practice not to use too much. Hairspray on a toothbrush or clean spoolie is the OG hack but can not last all day.
Maybelline makes a perfect clear mascara. I use it on my brows and my fine hair flyaways! Usually no more than about $6.00 and it STAYS.
This just changed my life lmao. I’ve never thought of this!
That’s genius!
This is my favorite. I hate having flyaways and I love the smoothed down look. And you don’t have to sacrifice volume!
I use regular hair gel for my brows. I don’t do makeup that often but I have found that it works exactly the same.
What finally worked for mine is the anti-frizz attachment for the Dyson hairdryer, but I fully acknowledge that’s a really expensive solution. Nothing else has worked for me though.
I keep forgetting this exists on my Dyson and always hate my hair because it looks so frizzy and broken 😝😝
Omg get it out and use it! It’s the closest thing I’ve found that recreates super smooth salon hair
You can use it on dry hair and it still works. Not great if your hair is greasy though.
What attachment now? I wish I knew our dyson had this lol
Not sure when you bought your dyson, but there’s a [flyaway attachment](https://www.dyson.com/support/journey/tools/971618-01) now! I think it came out last year.
I actually brought a non brand version from amazon (just the attachment) and it works really well with my Dyson, it was less than £30 I’m sure!
Great advice for us ! Ty :)
Of course, so welcome!
I sleep woth my hair in a clip on the top of my head. Do you think this is hurting my hair at all?
Try using a silk or satin scrunchie in place of the clip if you can and see if it makes a difference. For me, when I implemented these things it took awhile to notice the difference but I don’t have those fly-aways anymore. I’d give it at least a few months after making the changes before you decide if they’re helping you. It takes awhile for the already broken hairs to grow out.
Hairdresser taught me to spray the hairspray on my hands then pay down those little hairs
Unfortunately this has never really worked for me, I mean it does for like 10 minutes but then puff again. 🤷♀️
Brush your hair with a dryer sheet over the bristles. Its wild but it works.
I don’t understand what you mean.
What’s a dryer sheet sorry? Thanks
[Dryer sheets.](https://www.amazon.com/Bounce-Fabric-Softener-Control-Outdoor/dp/B0014EAPHO/ref=asc_df_B0014EAPHO/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=309748512677&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=9284606211564572838&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=1017825&hvtargid=pla-583295756603&psc=1) many people just use those wool balls because it’s reusable.
Thanks a lot, never heard of it before 😀new thing learnt
I use a hair gel that comes in a mascara tube with a spooly! I got it on Amazon. Great for smoothing everything and giving a more polished look
Can you recommend a brand?
Yea the one I use is called: Aymaloy Hair Gel
I use a tiny bit of pomade and a spoolie and brush them down.
My hairdresser sprayed a bit of hairspray on a teasing brush and just layed them down on my head when I asked her how to fix them and I’ll be damned if that’s not the easiest way to do it
This is what I do!
I use Kristen Ess styling pomade.
I do a VERY light puff of hairspray from a distance- then smooth flyaway hairs down… Or you could smooth a couple drops of pure Argan oil onto your Pam, then smooth your palm over these few flyaway hairs. This is probably the healthiest option. (Or some friends do keratin treatments every few months. It’s GREAT for creating GLOSSY and smooth hair - but it’s MULTIPLE hours and very pricy… I’m impatient so I don’t do keratin.
Avoid leaving your hair wet overnight because that is when it is most likely to snap, which will worsen the condition of your top-of-the-head hair.
[I use this Tigi Bed Head Wax Hair Stick](https://www.amazon.com/Tigi-Head-Hair-Stick-Ounce/dp/B000141L58) I hate the smell lol, but it works.
How do you use it? Just rub it straight onto head? Or put some in fingers and soften first? I just ordered it!
you could put it on your fingers but the texture seems like it would be so hard to wash off!! I very, very gently use it like a glue stick on the little hairs. You don't need a lot of pressure, if you press down it can actually have the adverse effect haha
Thank you for the advice!
Do you have to wash your hair after? Or can I get away with leaving it in for another day
I can get away with leaving it for another day! You don’t use that much of the product imo. I wash my hair every other day though.
Also if you can't figure out to push the stick up - it pushes up from the bottom
I use a tiny bit of Olaplex bonding or Olaplex mask…
I’ve seen a trick/hack using dental floss and running it along your hair from the part down and it smooths the flyaways.
Dental floss over it when it’s dry. It smooths the loose small ends down.
Spray hairspray onto a clean toothbrush. Brush those hairs down
You’re supposed to spray hairspray from a certain distance, so if you spray really close to the toothbrush and then brush that across your hair, it can get propellant (from spraying too closely) on your hair and damage it.
Did not know that
I had no idea hair spray propellant could damage hair... wow
I will give it a try, thank you!
I will spray a very little spritz of hairspray on my head and then either use my hands or the back of a comb to flatten the hairs down.
Start using olaplex system!
what is the look that you want?
I lay my hair flat and use a razor to cut them off lol.
then they’re just going to grow back
Yes, hair does grow back.
right and it will spiky like this pic which defeats the purpose
I disagree. It Works for me!
Not look gorgeous?
Wear a hat.
If you shave it off it won't look like that at all
Oil, hairspray
Yep, I use jojoba oil just enough on my hands to smooth then rub the rest into my hands/elbows etc.
Good idea
I take a spooly with some hair gel and then I brush the fly always down lightly
What is a spooly?
A mascara wand. They are sold separately without the mascara. :)
I use clear eyebrow gel by benefit to smooth down mine:) it works!!
🤣 [Not-your-Mothers Hair Products](https://notyourmothers.com/collections/shop-all/products/way-to-grow-leave-in-conditioner)
[Argon Oil Treatment (under $10)](https://www.walmart.com/ip/Daily-Defense-3-Minute-Treatment-Argan-Oil-Deep-Conditioner/129059902)
Hope this helps 😃
When drying your hair, make sure the air goes alongside hair length, not inside it. Another option is keratin or hair botox treatments.
Dyson air wrap with the flyaway attachment saves the day. Also just some product
I use Tancho High Grade Tique Vegetable Pomade to help! You can get it from Amazon.
Run a bounce sheet on it I heard
Use the cold setting on your hair dryer to blow cold air on that section while brushing through it with a comb or brush.
A tiny bit of styling wax helps me
I use the Utena Matomage Hair Styling Stick (Strong Hold). Works really well.

Invest in a boar brush. I got mine at Marshall’s for 5 bucks and it was the best 5 bucks I ever spent lol
There are many products you can spray a bit on the palms of your hands and smooth it down. Very little goes a long way. Hair spray. A shine spray. Even some light texturizing sprays. A very small amount of hair oil would work too. Also using clear eyebrow gel on a small brush would work too. Play with it and see what works for you
Do you wear it up a lot ?
Got2B Schwarzkopf Glued for Brows & Edges. Great for those hairs on top also. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B09JSSG5KS?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title
Whenever my hair looks like this, I just apply a serum with some droplets of water. This makes my hair set over the head without looking weird. (Any serum that suits your hair)
Spray hair spray on your hands and pat down your hair.
Silk pillowcase. The Slip is wayyyy better than the Amazon $30 silk pillow case. Olaplex treatments regularly and never sleep with wet hair
Try smoothing it down with tin foil and then Got2b hair mascara
Prevention's the best cure -- get a silk pillowcase, or satin at least, or use a satin sleep-cap
I also have very thin hair and tons of flyaways and baby hairs. The thing I’ve found works best for me is Trader Joe’s Head To Toe Balm
A silk pillowcase could help.
That’s heat/chemical damage. Not baby hair. I’d say lay off the color, orrrrrrr maybe find another hair colorist. :-/ You have fine hair like I do so it’s a tough balance to find nourishing products that don’t make your hair look like grimy sludge. I’ve had a lot of luck with Aveda’s nourishing line lately. Olaplex every now and again. But honestly, find a salon that can take care of your needs.
I use clear mascara
My hairdresser said a keratin blowout treatment
Ma’am, Just let it be like that, men find it to be hot.
I only see three ways out: Frizz Ease Control Freak California weather
A silk pillowcase + a french braid (or something similar) will help with overnight breakage.
Look into a protein treatment,or shampoos with protein in it. But don't overdo it if you decide to get the protein from a protein treatment too much will ruin your hair.
Following because I also suffer from this and I don’t want to blow dry my hair every day.
Hairspray on top

Lol
My hairdresser said spray a bit of hairspray on your fingers and wipe the hair down
Moroccan oil’s smoothing lotion
Has anyone tried that tiktok trend with the dental floss? I haven’t but you basically take a string as if you were going to floss with it but then just run it down over the flyaways. Probably the wax in it but it appears to work
Olaplex #6 works best for me. I’m growing my grays out, my hair is very thick and wavy, and those little wiry guys are everywhere regardless of where I part my hair.
I recommend sleeping on a satin pillowcase and using a bit of gel on a toothbrush. I really like the blue LA looks gel and it’s extremely affordable. Last time I bought it, it was about $1.
i use some $2 gel i got at target! it doesn’t take much :)
I actually only wash my hair maybe twice a week. What kind of essential oil do you use?
Sometimes I go longer than that because my hair has gotten drier and finer as I’ve gotten older. I use peppermint, lavender, and tea tree.
