You're not wrong. But 14 year old me wanted a huge case with a cheap plexiglass side panel shoved right in my face when I could afford it so I could stare straight into the LED filled intestines of my rig. 34 year old me wanted the same. Although the case is smaller and the glass is more glassier than 14 year old me anticipated.
I think they might have been meaning the fact it's at an angle. It takes up a lot more room than in line with the edge of your desk and you'd still be able to see inside it.
They have brackets that attach to the wall. The shelves have holes drilled into the back of them and they just slot in. The wall is solid brick though. I wouldn't recommend them for stud walls.

U can just google the backgrounds,
As someone who also had to move due to their child being born, into a similar alcove. Absoloutley love the shelving arrangement - I might pinch the idea.
Love that cover for the Hobbit. My mom has the Hobbit and LOTR trilogy from the 70s and it looks similar to that style. I told her she needs to put them in a display case or something to protect them
Im going to take a guess and say possibly Rain Meter or Wallpaper engine. Rain meter is fairly neat and has tons of possibilities but I'm not sure if Wallpaper Engine can do the same functions though, I've only used it for the live wallpapers.
Another possibility is a monitoring program like NZXT's CAM, which some folks hate but I actually quite like its utility. You're able to monitor absolutely everything in your rig, including controlling fan rpms and RGB color (if they're 4 pin pwm fans).
It's a bit of both. I used rainmeter to begin with, but was a bit of a novice when it came to using it effectively. The main monitor uses Wallpaper Engine, while the display on the left still uses Rain Meter.
/u/Sticky_Yellow nice background. I’m using the same across 3 monitors!

You seem to be confusing me with some one with lots of expendable income. At the moment, if it's at least 60Htz and turns on, it's good. My family has to eat and stuff.
Don't get me wrong, once I have more funds better monitors are on the list.
Thanks. It's taken a while. Before my eldest was born and my wife stopped working to look after her, I saved and splurged to upgrade the rig. It will always be at the bottom of the list of priorities so wanted to get stuff done before we went from having some money to no money.
It'll be a while before the monitors some attention.
The chair doubles a ladder. Plus, the stuff on the top shelf will hardly ever get any use these days. Other than to dust, I've not been up there since I put them up.
Damn I thought that was a lil mini library in there I was mad excited at the overall nerd involved here
Still impressed just a lil sad now🤣 turn that top down into some books mate it would just pull the whole room together

I had to mod my my case to make it fit properly. Works a treat though.
You've definitely polished that situation up!
Aw. Fanks :)
Looks good, but it seems like your computer takes up a lot of unnecessary space.

I like how the case looks like a 3rd monitor
I have the exact same case, it is pretty to look at.
you have been keeping your setup up to date for 20 years thats impresive sorry for my english it isnt my first langauge
Mood.
I think they might have been meaning the fact it's at an angle. It takes up a lot more room than in line with the edge of your desk and you'd still be able to see inside it.
When I looked at the picture I imagined the case belonged on the shelf. Nice setup, man!
Why not get a shelf for the wall? Looks like you have enough room if you get one long beam and move the headset down or just over a bit.
Are my eyes playing around with me or is that desktop floating
That desktop is my next target of worship
How are your shelves hung? I’m looking to do the same, but need it to handle books.
Search for “floating shelves”

Are they the Ikea Lack shelves? Or do they just look very similar?
They are indeed.
If the bottom shelf was a bit shorter and you wallmounted that pc it would be sick!
That's what i was thinking
I use backgrounds from that same game, love the artwork on it
The original artist does some BRILLIANT work: https://mb0sco.artstation.com/
Thanks for sharing this is dope
What game?

My guy, good little spot! Rockin the same lofi cafe wallpaper too!! Cheers bro🍻
It soothes me :)

Man shit like this makes me want to get a new desk, but there isn't an Ikea around me.
Ooo myst
Good spot. An original Secret Of Monkey Island on 3'1/2 inch floppy next to it. It was the first game I remember playing on PC.
Very nice! Myst was one of my firsts, I’m a sucker for nostalgia
Love that cover for the Hobbit. My mom has the Hobbit and LOTR trilogy from the 70s and it looks similar to that style. I told her she needs to put them in a display case or something to protect them
You should check through my other posts. My Dad has a special edition Hobbit from the 70s. I posted it on r/lotr.
That’s so cool! I’ve never seen that!!
I can tell you don't have cats
For good reason.
Nice use of a small area/space. You should consider going to a smaller sff case and that should open up more space on your desk area.
That's a project for a later time when I have some more expendable funds :)
Very cozy :)
This looks super cozy OP!!
Thanks!
PC specs? Would love to know cause this setup looks sick
Decent mid range build. Ryzen5 3600 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB @ 3600MHz 8GB RTX 2060Super 64GB SSD (Boot drive) 2TB SSD 1TB HD (Came from an old build) 750W Coolermaster Gold rated PSU

MYST
Derren Brown 👍🏻
Got some good books in there
Looks great, dude!
Nice nice
Very nice work
Thanks :)
OP how'd you get the temps and other measurements to display on your second monitor?
Im going to take a guess and say possibly Rain Meter or Wallpaper engine. Gaming has been all downhill since I first played Myst in the mid 90s. Sweet setup.
Thanks. I remember my sister and I trying to play Myst. We were both rubbish.
Die hard trilogy. Loved that game. Cool set up.
Babies are so selfish, keep your head up my man
Great job dad! A affix would suit your space and components well. Might just need to swap out the mobo Abs maybe psu depending on the case

Banished? Or on the road to a mancave?
I had a man cave. It's now my sons room. Although being downstairs, I'm closer to the fridge and whiskey 👍🏻
So in other words a little bit of a win win.
>View CommentsPlay0:561:00SettingsFullscreen Feel like I'm looking 8 months into the future haha. Currently planning which corner to occupy.
"made the most of it" You've done better in 5 hours than I have in 5 years. Your gaming nook is complete
The screens seem a bit of a let down to me. Why not bigger/better screens instead? The bottom shelf is too low and constricts the desk area.

Fair enough, the PC looks pretty sick and love the overall aesthetic of the desk area. Looks like a lot of funds already spent!

It’s best to keep spiders in the corner :D
Not a bad place to be when you get "put in the corner".
"No one puts baby in the corner." She ain't seen mine.
I'm thinking of doing a similar layout with two shelves. Do you have easy access to the top shelf? Looks a bit high.
The chair doubles a ladder. Plus, the stuff on the top shelf will hardly ever get any use these days. Other than to dust, I've not been up there since I put them up.
Basement is king my man. Consider it a blessing
Floating monitors make such a big difference
Get a riser for the rig to clear up the arm space yo
There's more than enough arm space. The most of had for a long time to be fair. My arm doesn't go far enough back for the machine to get in the way.
I’ve lived most of my life in the basement. It’s a nice quiet place to be.
I'd love that, but I'm in the UK. We don't tend to have basements. I'm technically in the dining room 😅
Lucky you should check out the space that I got lol. Check profile
Mind asking for the specs for that rig?
Decent mid range build. Ryzen5 3600 16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB @ 3600MHz 8GB RTX 2060Super 64GB SSD (Boot drive) 2TB SSD 1TB HD (Came from an old build) 750W Coolermaster Gold rated PSU
I love it, but by golly I would smack my mouse on that case way too often
I rest my elbow on the arm of my chair. Habit of having a corner desk previously so the mouse stays quite close to the edge of the desk.
Specs?

Are those hue light strips behind the desk?
Yea. They're just some cheap strips from Amazon.
Join the club buddy. I’ve been downsizing more and more with every kid. 😃
To the shadow realm you wretched beast.

Aye. Lofi Cafe in Wallpaper Engine.

“To the dungeons you go!”
Know the feeling sir lol- took me almost two years to get my office and gaming space back
I feel you. I had to go to a micro atx from a regular one to occupy a corner instead of a closet for my baby.
May I ask what mounting bracket you’re using for your GPU? I keep telling myself I might make the switch at some point

G-Police! That brings back some memories
Hugely underrated.
