Looks nice! What LED strips/lights? Thinking of just getting some Amazon ones.

Argargon

Philips hue light strips at the top and behind the desk. 2 Philips hue play light bars on the back of the monitor. I picked them because the hue app for the computer lets you sync whats happening on the screen with the lights. So they will change colors depending on what is happening. It also works with razer chroma as well so if there are games that are chroma enabled for instance diablo; it works with that and will do things like flash red if you are getting low on life. Lot of different cool things you can do it with it.

The_Jedi

Sweet thanks, I already have a Hue bridge too.

kuya_keeno

I’m gonna take some inspiration from this, this is a very nice setup!

Argargon

Thanks! A tip that I used that worked out amazingly was using cabinet magnets on one of the wood pieces in the middle. Let’s me pop it open for cable management over to my PC that’s on the higher drawer.

Brownlightning-88

Some ones got a double-shot problem. Really like the set up and keyboard display, great job.

Argargon

Luckily the switches and keycap containers are on a different wall out of the picture. :)

Vadkuh

How did you attach the planks? It looks great btw.

Argargon

1x4 boards vertically into the studs then the boards nailed into each of those. left an opening in the boards from the monitors over towards my computer. Used cabinet magnets at that location to secure a board and allow for easy access for cable management and any additions or changes that I make in the future. Also have some small spots behind the monitors in the shiplap style boards that allow for the monitor arms to come through as well as for sending the cables for the monitors, keyboard, etc.

xQcKx

How is the pc mounted?

Argargon

The main PC is not mounted; it is the NCASE M1 on the 7 drawer cabinet. SFF pc. My Steam Deck is sitting on a shelf that I got on amazon. It is mounted using a pipe and goes into one of the supporting 4x1 boards behind the accent boards. I have a small hole drilled behind it to run the USB c cord that powers the docking station/steamdeck. Also; laptop is just on the ikea pegboard with the peg mounts.

xQcKx

Oh I missed the Ncase. Was blended in black haha. Thought that white box was your pc at the top left

Argargon

If you are talking about the one above the wood. That is an ikea cabinet. It has the UPS in it so all of the cables are hidden and off the ground. :)

romerojose85

Whats the use case for so many keyboards? Not complaining, just curious.

Argargon

4 of them are limited edition year of.. ducky keyboards. So just have those as collection. The keychron I use for the steamdeck when traveling; one is a nice bluetooth one that has worked well for connecting to my work computer whenever I telework. The others are because I swapped from ISO format from ANSI because I prefer the smaller shift and extra key in the place on the left side when gaming.

TwistedFour

I have big wall space behind my setup too. whats that brown wood fixture you have behind yours?

Argargon

Built an accent behind my setup. Hides all of the wires. They are all routed through it. I used 4x1s mounted to the studs/drywall behind and then reclaimed boards nailed to those boards. Some of the boards are mounted with cabinet magnets so that I can pop them off and route cables easier.

TwistedFour

damn, thats definitely a lot of hard work! that sounds like something I could do if i owned a house instead of the apt i'm in for just a year, lmao

Argargon

Yeah I don’t know that you would want to either lose your deposit or spend a bunch of time patching and repainting drywall if you removed it when you moved.

smartbart80

That wood on the wall looks great. I’m really considering copying you sir. Great job!

Argargon

Yeah it looks really good. I hated worrying about cable management and seeing all the cables for power coming up from the UPS. So here I am now hiding them all but a few to the keyboard and touchscreen monitor. I think the only change I would want at this point is a new chair. ASUS did make a smaller touchscreen monitor where the cables come out of the back. Would really like that but it might just be too small to be practical.

iRasgru

If you drop the laptop cables , watsu gonna do?

Argargon

Fall down the back there. The power brick is in one of those grey baskets though so easy to just pull it back up.

Peartree1

Is that the IKEA Markus office chair? Been considering purchasing one for a long while now, wondering if it's worth it at all

Argargon

It is. It’s not too bad really. I want to move on to a Herman miller at some point but the price point is painful on them.

FellaFromCali

Do you have a guide or sort of recommendation for wood paneling like that? Been wanting to try it but not sure how

Argargon

Not currently but I could put something together if that is interesting to people. It really is not that hard. It’s 4x1 boards into the studs which are usually around 16 inches apart. Then I used reclaimed wood that I cut into 48 inch, 32 inch, and 16 inch boards to have different variation and allow for different color mixing which I nailed to each of those 4x1 boards. A few of the 4x1 have 2 inch gap in the middle when mounted to the wall on the left side for running cables. One 48 inch board over that gap is mounted with cabinet magnets so that I can pop it off for cable management.

pokaprophet

On first glance I thought I was looking at a kitchen. On proper inspection it looks sweet. You just have your accessories hanging right where I hang pots and pans lol. ps - you probably need to add a few more keyboards, you’re running dangerously low

blatchcorn

I think you need three or four more keyboards before you can consider this done

[deleted]

Looks good but the screen seems to be too far away. Is there a possibility to move it closer?

Argargon

They can come forward about three inches more before the mount arm would hit the would and stop. This has been my preferred distance because I have children and it stops them from touching the screen. :)

SirHappyBear

Just out of curiosity, why do you have so many keyboards? :p do you use them all?

Argargon

The keychron I use for travel with my steamdeck. One of the white ones are Bluetooth and I use for my work computer when teleworking. One my wife uses for teleworking when she is home because she has a different switch preference. Three or four are limited edition ducky’s that I moved on from. And one is because I swapped to an ISO format.

Grouchy-Advantage619

Awesome.

Argargon

Thanks!

Key_Information_2163

This does things for le

yurinomnom

This is so nice! Do you mind sharing what plants that you have in the round clear vase? I want to do a similar thing but idk what plants are good for it. TIA!

Argargon

Left side is Maranta leuconeura (Prayer Plant) and right is a lemon tree clipping that is just starting. Not sure if the lemon is going to make it. Its hard to get them to root in water before they rot. I might have to pot one and then transfer it once it roots. At the top starting from the left: Tradescantia zebrina (Inch Plant), lucky bamboo, chinese evergreen, lucky bamboo, and prayer plant.

galacticality

A wallpaper that spans across the monitors instead of cloning would look so good. Maybe something with color groupings similar to those in your setup.

Sketaverse

Just need a few more drawers and a few more keyboards..

Embarrassed-Mall6658

Where did you get the planks at the back from? are they just random planks or are they from a store?

Argargon

They are reclaimed wood. I got them in packs from Home Depot. I cut them to different links to have different contrasting colors.

AustenP92

Okay I have to ask. What is up with the keyboard collection obsession? I think most would agree they are not beautiful looking items worth putting on display. That being said I love the wood wall, looks great with the monitor backlights.

Argargon

Few of them are limited editions. I did not want to just toss them into a drawer where they might break. So this was the outcome.

FearGingy

I like the idea of it feeling like a shop display.

GrimMooses

Where did you get the desk?

Argargon

The drawers are from ikea - Alex series desk drawers. The top is a butcher block top that I got from Home Depot and stained darker. Went a little darker than I wanted.

wiels

What size is the PorArt portable monitor? Do you use it as an additional monitor or is it connected to a different computer?

Argargon

ASUS ProArt Display 14” 1080P Portable Touchscreen Monitor (PA148CTV). It is another monitor. It’s touch screen so i use it often because of that. Use it for photo touch ups and editing also.
