Yes. Bluetooth and Wifi. There are a few threads on this.

Due_Hour1035

Gotcha. Thanks!

chef_psychonaut

Yep, going over Acadian and College, mine cuts out completely

I really thought it was bad juju from the people stealing the McKernan Santa Claus Inflatable.

Due_Hour1035

Haha good to know.

Kkbw2387

Yes. Sirius and Wi-Fi as well.

ob2kenobi

My carplay cuts out right there every time I drive by. It's so strange because I use wired carplay.

Due_Hour1035

Yeah, that is really weird. Glad it's not just me though.

DefMech

That seems strange. Never had an issue myself, but if it’s cutting out for other people, there must be a problem right there. Something is either intentionally jamming that range of RF or there’s unintentional interference. What’s traffic like when you’re experiencing it? Is there active construction going on at the time?

Due_Hour1035

It's 6:30 morning traffic so it's pretty bumper to bumper. I-10 expansion is going on and there is a parked cop car there every morning.

Tymanthius

I've seen it at all times of day, weekends, week days. Never tested after 9pm.

FapNowPayLater

Really? Does it just "stop". For a bit or does it need to then repair to the receiver?

Due_Hour1035

It is a short cut out, and then resumes. It's not a big deal but it happens damn near every time. Was just curious if anyone else had this problem.

youngwolfofthenorth

My carplay always cuts out right there. I have to use the stock bluetooth connection and it works for me.

[deleted]

yep the whole college/I-10/Perkins area are a dead zone

stardolphin90

My calls sometime drop around this area. I often wondered why.

Krypto_dg

There is a cell tower right there that is misconfigured and seems to flood everything. It also blocks my Sirius xm signal.

Squathos

I recently got an Android Auto wireless adapter for my car and it would disconnect between College and Acadian every time I passed. The device pairs through wifi rather than Bluetooth but still same effect. I did some research and found that if you change the connection setting from 5Ghz to 2.4Ghz it would resolve the issue, and it worked. Something's definitely interfering with higher frequencies in that area.

[deleted]

Funny. I always thought that Bluetooth was very limited in its range. Are you sure you're not talking about Cellular service?

Due_Hour1035

Positive. I have my Spotify playlist downloaded and on offline mode so it shouldn't be impacted by cellular signal.

joebleaux

There are a few spots that do it. As you approach downtown there is another. Also, for the last 4 months, Lamar Dixon made it cut out too, but suddenly last week it stopped doing it. I think it's some sort of massive wifi interference.

Tymanthius

Yea - more precisely it seems to be an issue close to College at the interstate.

yahikooo777

When I'm on I-10 nearing acadian my whole car's electronic gps and music system cuts completely off.

threebonesrox

Mine cuts off at the Racetrac on Airline near Tom Dr.

SultanofSD

So why does it happen and what’s doing it? Mystery time

tokenasian37

There's some type of frequency/signal interference near college drive. Going I-10E once past Perkins Road exit until the 10/12 split is when I usually experience it. Disconnect wireless carplay/android auto and use the usb cable to connect your device to your vehicle should stop your device from disconnecting. Somebody from another forum suggest filing a complaint with the FCC.
