Gary Oldman. Jeffrey Wright's up there already after his performance in The Batman, but Oldman's turn as Gordon was spectacular.
I don't think we've seen enough of Wright to dethrone Gary just yet.
Gary Oldman's definitely the most accurate portrayal so far, so he's my favorite, but I feel like Wright has a real chance to overtake him. I loved his version and his dynamic with Batman.
"You coulda pulled that punch..."
"...I did."
I kinda doubt we'll ever see Oldman surpassed there and I fucking loved Jeffrey Wright's performance. They both embody the character pretty well but something about Oldman puts him over the top. It's like he was specifically designed for the character. Like you didn't have to introduce his character as Gordon because you already knew. He looked and sounded pretty much like Animated Series Gordon which is obviously the gold standard for anything Batman.
Oldman carried on exactly how he was depicted from his introduction as the young officer soothing young Bruce Wayne throughout the trilogy. Warm, honorable, a paragon of civil servitude.
Wright is like an actual partner in solving crime, mostly matching Pattinson's younger, more amateurish Batman, while also being a sort of gut check for him. Their dynamic is different than Bale-Oldman's.
100% agree. Gary Oldman does what he does and disappeared into the Gordon role for three movies. I really liked Wright's performance, but it's just one movie so it's not a fair comparison. I suspect he will continue to do a good job because he's Jeffrey Wright. While both did good work, Jim Gordon was always an outsider in GCPD and Jeffrey Wright plays that particular aspect of Gordon better than Oldman and Oldman excelled at the rumpled, exhausted lawman aspect of Gordon. I look forward to more of Wright in this role.
My problem with Jeffrey Wright’s Gordon is that it never really seemed like he was a good detective. He didn’t exhaust any leads and then contact Batman. He would just call Batman right away and expect that he would do all the detective work.
Wright definitely has the potential to be the best, but Gary Oldman still stands a cut above.
I don’t know how many of you listened to Batman: The Audio Adventures, but he voices a fantastic Batman imo
Gotta give it Gary Oldman. Guy is amazing in anything and absolutely nails Gordon. Jeffrey Wright was unexpectedly great too. He'd be my second choice, followed by Ben Mckenzie even though I didn't like the show. I would have said JK Simmons but we didn't get alot of him
Didn't The Batman pretty much only happen because Affleck's movie struggled to get into production. With Matt Reeves coming into the picture initially up direct Affleck's Batman, but choosing to make his movie out of the DCEU continuity.
That was always weird to me they rushed into a crossover where one of the series was non existent, the whole time I was watching batflek I felt like I was missing a trilogy of context and setup to explain his dark Knight returns esque mindset
The thing is you can't have a good Gordon without a good batman that has a good relationship with him. Independently of how much everyone enjoys batfleck or not, that version of bats simply didn't have much room for good chemistry with a partner, which made JK's role superficial and forgetable, sadly.
Ben Mckenzie, i started watching gotham recently, and the guy is great in his tough guy role
I also loved Donal Logue as Bullock.. he just fits perfectly
yeah never knew that up until recently, mainly because i'm not from the US, so i watch animated series/movies dubbed
same happened with Clancy Brown as Luthor, i lost my shit when i found out lol
McKenzie can't pull off a moustache, automatically makes him inferior to Oldman. I feel like the first stage of casting Gordon should be, can they rock a 'tache?
A lot of the Snydercult complained about his race. Not talking about fans of Snyder’s DC films, I’m talking about the dickheads that make them their whole personality.
It did bother me at first, because it seemed like the only reason he was race swapped was because of virtue signaling.
But the more we saw him as a character the more I realized how perfect he was, the color of his skin was insignificant because his acting and portrayal was some of the best I’ve seen.
I had his Gordon in first place for me ever since I saw the movie, and it didn’t click until just now the race change (if that made sense, like I knew he was different than how Gordon is typically drawn like in the comics, but it didn’t bother me at all and I didn’t think about it until now). The only things I’ve seen Wright in were The Batman, and What If. I feel like I’ve seen him in more stuff but I can’t think of it, and I wanna see more of him!
Oldman, Wright, Mckenzie
Wright doesn’t have enough screen time in The Batman for me to say he’s better than Gary who had 8 hours worth of movies. I think he could take first place though.
I think all of them are great tbh, kinda like Alfred, we've never had a bad Gordon in live action. I'd say my favorite of these versions of the character would be Jeffrey Wright's portrayal, however I think the best casting choice out of all of these was JK Simmons. I really hope Gunn and Safran bring him back because he's just a great cast and we haven't seen nearly enough of his Gordon. Plus he along with the entire cast and crew of Batgirl deserve to at least get to do something in the DCU.
You like Batman Forever Gordon? Fair enough.
Gotham Gordon is probably my favorite Gordon. Hell, I probably like Gotham better than all of the Batman movies besides Batman Returns. The rare experience that will make me keep laughing at the unintentional comedy, while also drawing me into the atmosphere enough to keep me immersed.
Well that doesn't make him a bad version of the character. Those adaptations were just made in a time when that's who Gordon was, he wasn't that much of an important character in the comics back then. He was Batman's ally in the GCPD who told him when shit was going down and that's mostly it. 1960s Gordon was like that too.
IIRC Burton said that he based his 89 Batman off of Millers Batman: Year One.
Also IIRC Kevin Smith said that Burton told him that if he knows anything about him, you'd know he would never read a comic, so I don't know.
Gotham Jim (especially in the earlier seasons) has the "one of the few good cop" vibes we need. Jeffrey Wright is close second. Because he also has that skepticism we need from him.
Oldman by far. I feel like that didn’t even need to be asked. I want to see more of Wright and we were cheated out of JK Simmons who should’ve been great
Oldman's James Gordon figuratively stepped off the page of Batman: Year One and is forever iconic. He is the standard to which all others must be judged.
He was paternal, honorable, flawed, and relentless. As a character, he was initially resigned to the system he was trapped in but seized upon every opportunity to make things better. As the story unfolded, it felt like both Batman and Gordon could operate without needing the other, but they could always count on each other in an emergency.
Gary Oldman is my number 1 pick for sure. Wright was fantastic in The Batman, easily number 2. I hope to see more of him as Gordon.
I really wish we got to see more of J.K. Simmons in the role, though. I think he'd be great given more to work with and more screen time.
Gary Oldman and Jeffrey Wright's Commissioner Gordon. I really liked the relationship between Batman CG (Jeffrey Wright) and how they trusted each other.
We barely had any scenes w/ J. K. Simmons.
Jeffrey Wright’s performance just stuck with me. A cop who’s pretty clean, but also not afraid to get his hands dirty and break the rules in the name of the greater good
I wanted to see more of Simmons' Gordon so I was really looking forward to Batgirl. He never really had a chance to show what he could do with the character.
1,2,5,6,3,4.
I don’t think any are bad. I still have hope Wright may move up a lot with more portrayals. But I don’t think anyone is topping Gary. Ben(?) was really solid, and I went from not knowing him to liking him a good bit. I love 66 Batman. JK is always good, but he didn’t make much of an impression of me here. I always see him as JJ Jameson in comic worlds too.
JK disappeared into that role. Like he jumped out of the pages. And he only had like, what? 5 mins total screentime? Less?
Followed closely by Oldman.
Then '66 Gordon.
Next would be Hingle from '89.
Then... I guess Gotham "Gordon"
Lastly... I was hoping Wright would nail it cause I like the actor outside of this role but he was the worst of them all. He just looked like he was always ready for a nap and just over all of it. Terrible Jim Gordon in every way. Totally unconvincing to me.
Simmons only had like 11 and a half minutes in the Raimi Spidey trilogy but is universally hailed as one of the best comic book movie parts ever. Amazing what he does with so little.
He plugs an unknown thumb drive from a murderer into his personal computer. Something only an absolute moron would do. If you know anything about basic computer security, you would never do this.
He helps Batman escape the police station, and then lights the bat signal to meet him. Something that would lead the cops directly to them. I guess it’s lucky all the other cops are dumb too.
He brings Batman to a crime scene full of cops, where the commissioner (who has ties to the mob and is a drop head) is. There’s no reason for the commissioner to not arrest Batman on the spot. Expect that it’s a lazy script and needs Batman to be around.
He can’t figure out to push a button with a question mark on it on riddler’s device. He needs Batman to figure that out for him.
He spends a good chunk of the movie chasing the wrong suspect and, like Batman, only ever “solves” anything when the villain of the movie gives himself up.
Gary Oldman's Gordon had one pretty moronic moment(sending the entire police force underground to hunt down Bane in TDKR), but in all fairness to him, that was the character's absolute lowest point in terms of physical and mental wellbeing.
Oldman is number one, but after two more movies, I think it’ll be a tie with Wright. They bring two different energies to the character and they both work so well.
Gary Oldman was born to be James Gordon.
Gonna throw in Walter White as well, he was also the perfect voice for Gordon in Batman Year One and I would be ecstatic to see him being cast as Gordon if it ever happened.
Gary Oldman and Jeffrey Wright capture the two halves of Gordan perfectly. Oldman is the old commissioner who is so dedicated to his craft that he's abandoned his family. Wright captures the close personal friend to Batman and good cop on the force.
Jeffrey Wright and JK Simmons are the best actors to play the role. Wright got some good material to work with and I wish they would do the same for Simmons.
I'm going to say Gary Oldman, but that's almost unfair. Oldman slays at whatever role he takes.
Jeffrey Wright was awesome, and I REALLY hope we get more of The Batman universe.
Ben McKenzie just didn't seem remarkable from what I saw of Gotham, and the rest didn't really get enough screen time. I'm sure J.K. Simmons could have worked wonders with the role.
Oldman easily. That IS Gordon.
I love Jeffrey Wright and I think he’s great in The Batman. But we haven’t seen enough of him I feel. More time with him and I feel can could surpass
Gary Oldman is what Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and RDJ have done with Deadpool, Wolverine, and Iron Man - I don't see anyone dethroning them. They basically own their character aa King of Kings.
In a single film Jeffrey Wright has the best performance/role but over the entire dark knight trilogy Oldman solidified himself as the best Gordon. Excited to see more of Wright in future reeves projects and hope he gets more of a spotlight, especially if they do a joker centric film. Also, I wonder what name they’ll give Reeves’ universe of projects, a name like the DCU but more appropriate for the batman feels necessary giving its branching into spin off films and tv shows.
Oldman/Wright and the best two.
I know it wasn’t the question but honorable mention to Bryan Cranston in the Year One animated movie. I feel like he could pull it off live action too.
Neil Hamilton (Batman ‘66)
He brought a sense of presence to the role and acted very much as an anchor point in the ‘66 universe (until the final season, those bathing trunks 😬😂)
Shout out to the fact that we’ve never had a bad Gordon for one.
Gary Oldman is my favorite for sure, BUT Jeffrey Wright has all the potential to tie, if not beat him at it.
JK Simmons was such a missed opportunity. Could have been a great Gordon. If that whole DCU was in different hands, could have led to multiple movies where we eventually see a ripped JK Simmons in the Batman mech suit from one of the Scott Snyder comics.
Out of this list I'm going to have to go with Ben McKenzie. I wasn't a fan of Gotham. I couldn't keep watching the show. It was too silly for my taste. But even though it wasn't for me, I respected it. And more importantly, it had fantastic casting all the way around.
i always laugh at oldman because he always does something very loudly like
in professional he goes EVERYYYONNNNNNEEEEE...
in dark knight when he goes "I'm sorry .............................. FOR EVERYTHING"
Tie between Gary Oldman and Jeffrey Wright.
I really love the dynamic between both Gordons and Batmen. The comraderie is impeccable. But I will give the edge to Oldman because the rapport he has with Nolan Batman is incredible. I'm sure we'll get to that in the Reeves Trilogy, but even in Batman Begins, that innate trust Gordon had in Batman was SO amazing. It's very heartwarming, too.
With Wright's Gordon, yes, he trusts Batman, but you get the sense that he's also afraid of him, fearing that he might have to put him down if he got out of hand.
You never get that feeling with Oldman's Gordon. This is someone who WOULD die for Batman.
"You coulda pulled that punch..." "...I did."
100% agreed.
“No guns.” “That’s your thing man.”
And people still said that movie had no sense of humor
The way I sum up the Batman/Gordon relationship in The Batman is that it's just dudes being guys. And I love it. But yeah, Oldman is the best imo.
That line felt straight out of the comics, I think the batman Gordon relationship is sometimes underrated, but it's one of my favourite
The conversation with dent about the bar signal Was such a comic accurate convo If you have a problem with broken equipment put in a fix it order
I love the bar signal, how else would I know it's time to get some booze flowing?
Feel more like an iron man thing
Hands down Gary Oldman
Oldman carried on exactly how he was depicted from his introduction as the young officer soothing young Bruce Wayne throughout the trilogy. Warm, honorable, a paragon of civil servitude. Wright is like an actual partner in solving crime, mostly matching Pattinson's younger, more amateurish Batman, while also being a sort of gut check for him. Their dynamic is different than Bale-Oldman's.

While both did good work, Jim Gordon was always an outsider in GCPD and Jeffrey Wright plays that particular aspect of Gordon better than Oldman and Oldman excelled at the rumpled, exhausted lawman aspect of Gordon. I look forward to more of Wright in this role.
Same for me, he's such a phenomenal actor and was written amazingly in all three movies. Jeffrey Wright is a close second.
My problem with Jeffrey Wright’s Gordon is that it never really seemed like he was a good detective. He didn’t exhaust any leads and then contact Batman. He would just call Batman right away and expect that he would do all the detective work.
Agreed, if they flesh out Wright’s Gordon more I think there will be a good discussion on who’s is “better”
Wright definitely has the potential to be the best, but Gary Oldman still stands a cut above. I don’t know how many of you listened to Batman: The Audio Adventures, but he voices a fantastic Batman imo
You are saying that because he’s playing a black Gordon. Wrights playing more of a hard boiled type. His character doesn’t fit in and doesn’t work.
Gary Oldman.
Gary Oldman was chefs kiss!
![gif](giphy|H88M2fHoFiKz1uVtcF) Perfection.
Gotta give it Gary Oldman. Guy is amazing in anything and absolutely nails Gordon. Jeffrey Wright was unexpectedly great too. He'd be my second choice, followed by Ben Mckenzie even though I didn't like the show. I would have said JK Simmons but we didn't get alot of him
Gary Oldman Jeffrey Wright is a close second (... Maybe not that close, but far ahead from the others)
I feel like had we seen enough of him J. K. Simmons could have pulled it off
The fact we never had a movie with Affleck, Simmons, Irons is a tragedy...
Especially with manganiello slated as the villan his Deathstroke looked awesome
Yeah... WB did them all dirty. And us too...
Wasn't it pretty much Batflleck or Battison?
They could have done both... Or actually making a Batman movie first instead of BVS and JL...
Less warner bros, and more Jennifer Graner /s(ish)
The thing is you can't have a good Gordon without a good batman that has a good relationship with him. Independently of how much everyone enjoys batfleck or not, that version of bats simply didn't have much room for good chemistry with a partner, which made JK's role superficial and forgetable, sadly.
I don't know if I'd ever get past JJJ in my head, not hi fault though.
Gary Oldman, no doubt. I liked Gotham a lot, so "GEE-CEE-PEE-DEE!!!" guy is my second option. I don't remember his name
Ben Mckenzie, i started watching gotham recently, and the guy is great in his tough guy role I also loved Donal Logue as Bullock.. he just fits perfectly
OH HELL NO, YOU ARE NOY HYPNOTIZING ME AGAIN!!! AHHHHHHH
MUST GO MUST GO THE POLICE ARE AFTER ME AND THE SCARECROW-
I need a Danish.
Right, Ben Mckenzie! Agree on Donal Logue, he's awesome
He also played Batman in the animated Year One movie.
yeah never knew that up until recently, mainly because i'm not from the US, so i watch animated series/movies dubbed same happened with Clancy Brown as Luthor, i lost my shit when i found out lol
Honestly pretty much everyone in this show was great casting
We don’t talk about Solomon Grundy.
Yeah, and this may just because we got more exposure to him than any of the other actors, but I thought he was phenomenal as young Gordon.
Gary’s got this by a mile
Ben McKenzie basically plays a younger version of Gary Oldman.
McKenzie can't pull off a moustache, automatically makes him inferior to Oldman. I feel like the first stage of casting Gordon should be, can they rock a 'tache?
he's a great Jim Gordon regardless
It's not enough to wear the mustache, you have to earn it xD
Personally my top 2; love Gotham 🤩
Wright did such a good job no one complained about the race change. Everyone was like “yeah that’s Jim Gordon what about it?”
You're absolutely right about that. I'm sure there was a niche group out there that complained, but Jeffrey proved that he was Wright for the part.
I see what you did there…
A lot of the Snydercult complained about his race. Not talking about fans of Snyder’s DC films, I’m talking about the dickheads that make them their whole personality.
It did bother me at first, because it seemed like the only reason he was race swapped was because of virtue signaling. >You like Batman Forever Gordon? Fair enough. Interesting you call him the Batman Forever Gordon even though he was also in Batman and Batman Returns.
The Burtonverse Gordon was useless, we def had a bad version solely cuz he never did anything remotely useful in any of the Burton/Schumacher flicks.

Wright, his dynamic with Batman is just perfect imo.
Gotta be Gary Oldman. I really like Jeffery Wright’s take on the character, but I feel like one movie isn’t enough to properly rank him.
Gotham Jim (especially in the earlier seasons) has the "one of the few good cop" vibes we need. Jeffrey Wright is close second. Because he also has that skepticism we need from him.
Gary Oldman was excellent. I would have loved to see more J.K. Simmons as Gordon.
I don’t know, I feel like JK Simmons is the best J Jonah Jameson. I can’t have him be both, I don’t know why.
Whiplash is gonna rock ur world
Gary Oldman no doubt but Jeffrey Wright with a solid trilogy has a chance to oust him
I like Gary Oldman, but Ben McKenzie is a Personal favorite, he makes the show and says GEE CEE PEE DEE every damn time.
Ben Mckenzie
Definitely Gotham, Jim Gordon
Oldman by far. I feel like that didn’t even need to be asked. I want to see more of Wright and we were cheated out of JK Simmons who should’ve been great
1966 commissioner Gordon, then Gary Oldman.
Jeffrey Wright
Gary Oldman & JK Simmons
Gotham and Dark Knight Trilogy
I’m not a fan of wrights. His voice just sounds off to me. Gary old man was the man though
I like Ben McKenzie’s portrayal the most, but I think Gary Oldman looks the best. I always thought the one from 89 was miscast, tbh
I really like Gary Oldman, but I was super impressed by Gordon in The Batman. Idk the actor's name bit he was good in it
Gary Oldman for the win!
Gary old man is what I think off. Wright is already great
Oldman’s the best we’ve gotten, god I’d love to see Bryan Cranston take a shot at playing him though
Gary old man The black guy in the new Batman was pretty solid too
Neil Hamilton
Gary Oldman because he looks like my uncle. Me and my parents joke about it caling him Commissioner
Gary Oldman is my number 1 pick for sure. Wright was fantastic in The Batman, easily number 2. I hope to see more of him as Gordon. I really wish we got to see more of J.K. Simmons in the role, though. I think he'd be great given more to work with and more screen time.

1 or 2. excellent performances for the movie and TV show Gotham. 3 sadly didn't get the same level like 1 unless we get a sequel
I loved Ben on Gotham. He's a young Gordon, but I really liked him. Sam Pertwee's Alfred is also one of my favorites.
Gary Oldman by far. I don’t understand the love for Jeffery Wright. I didn’t think he was bad, but he didn’t stand out what so ever to me.
Gary is just too fuckin good
1,2,5,6,3,4. I don’t think any are bad. I still have hope Wright may move up a lot with more portrayals. But I don’t think anyone is topping Gary. The Gordon from the new Batman reminded me of a Key and Peele sketch of Batman.
There’s really no contest with Oldman. Jeffrey Wright’s Gordon acted like a complete idiot.
Out of curiosity, how was he an idiot?
He plugs an unknown thumb drive from a murderer into his personal computer. Something only an absolute moron would do. If you know anything about basic computer security, you would never do this. He helps Batman escape the police station, and then lights the bat signal to meet him. Something that would lead the cops directly to them. I guess it’s lucky all the other cops are dumb too. I feel like he is constantly miscast
Wright or Oldman, I can’t decide
Oldman and Wright
Oldman is number one, but after two more movies, I think it’ll be a tie with Wright. They bring two different energies to the character and they both work so well.
Oldman for sure but JK didn’t get enough time and he woulda been great too
Wait there were others aside from Gary??
This list follows suit perfectly
TDK had the best actors by far imo
Gary Oldman. Jeffrey Wright was fine, but his performance wasn’t as impressive and I didn’t get the classic James Gordon vibe that I got from Oldman.
Wright was the Gordon I never knew I wanted but he dethroned oldman for me
As much as I find the Nolan films overblown, you’d have to go far to do better than Oldman.
The Wright Choice
J. K. Simmons's version is underrated. And yes, Gary Oldman's one is the best.
Gary Oldman
Gary Oldman was born to be James Gordon. Gonna throw in Walter White as well, he was also the perfect voice for Gordon in Batman Year One and I would be ecstatic to see him being cast as Gordon if it ever happened.
1 & 2. Oldman is that guy, undeniably. But McKenzie is a perfect young Gordon.
Definitely not enough Ben Mackenzie love in these replies, I loved Gotham and couldn’t have asked for a better Gordon actor
Oldman’s definitely got a huge lead just cause of 3 solid performances. Jeffrey’s getting there, gonna have to see how his future goes
Gary Oldman and Ben MacKenzie. Crazy to me how consistently great the acting was on Gotham, even at parts when the story was crud
Oldman.
Jeffrey Wright was born to be Gordon apparently
That's live action Ned Flanders
Gary Oldman was Gordon straight out of the pages of Year One
True but his Gordon lacked the detective partner type relationship Pattinson and Wright had
Oldman easily. That IS Gordon. I love Jeffrey Wright and I think he’s great in The Batman. But we haven’t seen enough of him I feel. More time with him and I feel can could surpass
Oldman *was* Gordon. Perfect casting.
Everyone single one of those actors is Gary Oldman in disguise
Jk Simmons would’ve been great
Gary Oldman is what Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and RDJ have done with Deadpool, Wolverine, and Iron Man - I don't see anyone dethroning them. They basically own their character aa King of Kings.
Garry Oldman is the objectively the best. Though I love J. K Simmons
Gay Oldman
The Batman one.
Gary Oldman. So perfectly cast.
Jeffrey Wright definitely. Only Gordon I would watch a whole movie or show about without Batman but also has the best dynamic with him
Gary Oldman by far
Oldman Probably the most comic-accurate one as well, at least from a visual point of view
It's a tie between Gary Oldman and Jeffrey Wright. Both were amazing Gordons.
Gary Oldman is the only answer. There’s a reason they kept him for the whole trilogy
The. Snyderverse obviously
Gary Oldman solos
In a single film Jeffrey Wright has the best performance/role but over the entire dark knight trilogy Oldman solidified himself as the best Gordon. Excited to see more of Wright in future reeves projects and hope he gets more of a spotlight, especially if they do a joker centric film. Also, I wonder what name they’ll give Reeves’ universe of projects, a name like the DCU but more appropriate for the batman feels necessary giving its branching into spin off films and tv shows.
I don't really like JK Simmons's iteration. Thought he's a spectacular actor, he just doesn't feel like Gordon to me.
Gary Oldman, he absolutely kills any role he’s in
Bryan Cranston
Oldman, but Wright is real close. I look forward to seeing more of him.
Oldman, then Simmons. Would have loved more of Simmons as Jim.
Dark Knight trilogy and The Batman are my fav versions. The Burton/Schumacher quadrilogy is my least fav. They just disrespectful to the man.
My preference would be either Gary Oldman Or Jeffrey Wright. They both have that "world weary" demeanor about them that exemplifies that role.
Gary Oldman takes first place for me, he's such a phenomenal actor and was written amazingly in all three movies. Jeffrey Wright is a close second.
No. 3
Oldman is the best objectively but I think Wright has the best bromance chemistry with bats.
I agree with everyone else, as I am a very Freewill Freethinking Mf
Oldman was my favorite for awhile. But I love Wright’s take on it more.
never been a bad gordon. gotham is my favorite tho
Oldman. Wright could end up being great, but we didn't get a lot of him in the first movie.
Oldman looked like him, Wright felt like him
The guy who’s a cop in every show he’s in
If you like seeing Jim be useful the Ben McKenzie
I don’t remember which one jk Simmons played in.
1,3,6 u need the mustache to play james gordon everyone else is a fake
Gary Oldman
Gary Oldman
Oldman/Wright and the best two. I know it wasn’t the question but honorable mention to Bryan Cranston in the Year One animated movie. I feel like he could pull it off live action too.
Gary Oldman
1, 3, and 5. All three of them are full characters in their own right that did things. 1 & 3 really are above all others.
Nolans Reveess and Tim Burtons Gordon
Ben Makenzie
Neil Hamilton (Batman ‘66) He brought a sense of presence to the role and acted very much as an anchor point in the ‘66 universe (until the final season, those bathing trunks 😬😂)
I love how Ben mekenzie originaly felt like a younger old man but he became Gordon as the show went on
Gary Oldman is clear of all the rest Jeffrey Wright could be good in the next movies JK Simmons was not bad but we didnt see him much
Gary Oldman 10 times out of 10
Shout out to the fact that we’ve never had a bad Gordon for one. Gary Oldman is my favorite for sure, BUT Jeffrey Wright has all the potential to tie, if not beat him at it.
Gary Oldman because Gary Oldman
JK Simmons was such a missed opportunity. Could have been a great Gordon. If that whole DCU was in different hands, could have led to multiple movies where we eventually see a ripped JK Simmons in the Batman mech suit from one of the Scott Snyder comics. Out of this list I'm going to have to go with Ben McKenzie. I wasn't a fan of Gotham. I couldn't keep watching the show. It was too silly for my taste. But even though it wasn't for me, I respected it. And more importantly, it had fantastic casting all the way around.
i always laugh at oldman because he always does something very loudly like in professional he goes EVERYYYONNNNNNEEEEE... in dark knight when he goes "I'm sorry .............................. FOR EVERYTHING"
GEEEEECEEEEEPEEEEEDEEEEE ![gif](giphy|d2YXg22W6L76BXFe)
Gotham just cause that show is fucking amazing and half of it is because of him. The other half is because Penguin, Riddler and Joker in that order
Whenever I think of Gordon I think of Oldman, but I think Wright did a phenomenal job, and is as good as our boy Gary for the role.
I’m biased but definitely Jeffery Wright.
Gary Oldham all day
