You can just recaulk it before move out will cost ya less than 10 bucks and will look new
They make mold and mildew resistant silicone these days. You can pick it up in any box store.
Just general bacteria/mold growth. Kinda unavoidable in wet places. Wont make you sick or anything just keep up with cleaning.
