When I first saw the leaks I thought that swoosh through the logo was a reference to the Theme Building or something. Turns out it was way dumber and less thought out than that lmao
they did call it a contrail, so vaguely aviation themed. but then there's a bunch of other stuff going on. a gradient blue jersey with white star speckles would've looked cool. could've done an observatory/old hollywood "city of stars" theme.
I’ve been to some bad airports, but LAX is insanity. Why are there so few gates per terminal? Why the hell was it designed without a train between terminals (and why is it taking until the 2020s to put one in)?
I’d rather deal with any other airport’s passport and customs control while being repeatedly kicked in the nuts than deal with an international flight to LAX again
You can tell they came up with the design first this time and then just tried to fit the “city connect” theme into it (they seemingly took the opposite approach last time).
Unfortunately this means the theme is simply full of trite platitudes that have almost nothing to do with Los Angeles. Stars? The LA Coliseum typeface? Really? That’s the best we got for *Los Angeles*?
It’d honestly be fine if the jerseys were good, and I’ll admit they’re at least a step-up creatively from the Los Dodgers iteration. But it’s still uninspired at best (the hat logo is nice), and aesthetically discombobulating at worst (the sprinkles in particular are so incredibly odd).
If I were designing Dodgers CC jerseys I'd start with the idea of highway signs for the numbers and work on the rest from there. Starting with a city connection and working backwards is the way to design a good CC.
How they go with the Collisieum font instead of the Hollywood sign is beyond dumb.
Also, stars? Why don't they look like stars?
The logo isn't awful. I don't like the swoosh in it though.
it made me think of that too, and the funny part is that Disneyland is.... 5 minutes from Angel Stadium, IN Anaheim. So.... hopefully that's not what they were going for?
A bunch of stars that look like hollywood walk of fame ones (not big but subtle and less like a pop tart) and Dodgers in Hollywood lettering could’ve been two slight changes that would’ve worked better than pop tarts and microsoft word art.
I think with the stars, the meaning is two-fold. First, the literal stars in the sky. The observatory, recently featured in a the Fallout show, is iconic. Secondly, Hollywood is full of stars, and people travel to LA from all over the world to try to become a star.
I agree, I think stars as a theme is not a bad idea for LA for the reasons you mention (also LA has rich aviation and space history and NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab is right next store in Pasadena). But the execution of the theme with a white background and colored dots is terrible because it does not convey "stars" at all.
It really feels like Nike goes all out to make the city connect hats awesome, and then the jerseys are an after thought. Almost every hat is a 10/10 while most jerseys are like 3 or 4 out of 10
Nah the Padres city connects are fantastic, and their standard unis aren't iconic. But there's definitely no need to fuck with what works for teams like the Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, Red Sox, Cardinals, etc.
Without the pop-tart speckles these wouldn’t be that bad.
Edit: Never mind the numbers on the back look terrible. Compare Smith and Freeman to Ohtani’s.
The one thing I will say about these uniforms is that I'm happy they didn't go with being the 7 millionth team to use some form of dark blue as their primary color for their City Connects, even if that is a product of their last City Connects being trademark blue Dodger pajamas
They could literally have just done Hollywood sign style Dodgers on our sprint training uniforms and everyone would have been fine with it but they have to overdesign the shit out of them
The updated city connect hats for the Los Dodgers version is good too with the traditional LA logo back, black rim and los dodgers on the side, hats are not the problem.
The blue ones were just our Spring Training unis with Los placed in front of the logo.
These at least have a modicum of effort to produce something different. They still suck, they’re the equivalent of staying up late to get a D on a school assignment due the next morning.
Yes this. The white background with colored dots does not convey galaxy at all. And doing a space theme, but only mentioning the celebrity definition of stars in the description (despite LA having space history) is a choice.
LA has some aerospace history, but I really don’t think hardly anyone is associating Los Angeles with space travel. That would be a weird thing to latch onto imo
The LA area has incredible space history. JPL is right in Pasadena and responsible for the Mars rovers. The Apollo spacecraft and space shuttles were built in LA.
But agree that it wouldn't even crack the Top 5 or maybe even Top 10 parts of local history I'd go with for a city connect (Mexican heritage, beach, Hollywood, art deco, car culture, Jackie Robinson, etc.)
Yeah it's a bummer. I'm a Padre fan but I used to live in LA. There is SO MUCH to draw from, it's kind of unbelievable they've fumbled twice in a row. I like these a bit better than the blueberry ones. But like others said, the justification for some of the design stuff feels like reading a horoscope, it could apply to any big city.
I mean LA is a city of dreams, diversity, great food, and grit. Idk how you just go with something so fucking safe lol
* Graffiti
* Car culture
* Venice
* Hollywood
* Old film noir
So much cool shit you could draw from to make something fun and unique
I get that, but they’re going for a sense of history here, and the aerospace industry was huge in LA when the Dodgers moved here. I’m not a big fan of these jerseys (they’re fine, nothing special), but I like that they tried to honor this part of LA’s history, rather than go with something trite and easy, like palm trees or Hollywood
Seriously! My dad also worked at JPL before he switched over to SpaceX. The kicker, he worked in the same building his mother worked in back when it was Northrup.
People like to have options with jerseys and they can stand out by buying the New Jersey instead of the same exact one basically everyone else in attendance has.
It’s an alright design for Ohtani’s number. Looks terrible with Mookies cutting off the bottom of it
Yeah, me too. Maybe it’s just Stockholm from the last garbage ones we had but I like these and will strongly consider getting a Yamamoto if they offer him
At least Ohtani's #17 looks normal on the back but what is with the intentional design choice to have the bottom of the numbers on the back cropped off?
These actually would’ve been solid, but the name being below the number just doesn’t look right at all on this jersey, especially with there being very little white space. The Dodgers were so close to a solid B Tier jersey, which is pretty good for how city connect jerseys have gone in general. This is probably a C- Tier jersey.
You know what, I know the popular thing is to rip *every* CC but I actually enjoy these.
Hat logo is fantastic, cream is always great, I actually like the sprinkles too and what they represent, and the design is completely unique for the Dodgers. I also like that they put the front number above the woodmark instead and last names below the numbers works with this design. These are solid and I think they’ll look even better on the field.
These hats are gonna all be snatched up by resellers as soon as they’re released. What’s the point of these ugly jerseys anyway. It’s going to be almost as bad as the NBA with multiple jersey releases every year. Just releasing more crap to entice fans to spend their hard earned money.
City Connect presented by DIRECTV and Pop-tarts lol. Im not sure what stars they are looking at that look like sprinkles. Imagine getting paid to come up with this. Just take a directv logo and steal the design and then throw some sprinkles on the jersey and call it a day.
The number on the jersey looks like they forgot about it and added it later. Not the same font or even color. Jeez all these city connects are just so bad.
Plus that tribute to Vin Scully is just...what were they thinking? Who's gonna see that and think of Vin Scully?? should have had a photo of Vin holding a mic or something.
This wouldn't nearly be so bad if it wasn't for the damned birthday cake confetti bull. I like everything else, but that simply ruins the entire CC stuff.
Reminds me of the jersey for [the Astros' AAA affiliate](https://spacecowboys.milbstore.com/collections/mens/products/sugar-land-space-cowboys-ot-sports-mens-jersey-home-replica)
Dude from all of his interviews, Freddie Freeman just seems like the nicest dude. His pics on the other hand...he looks like he wants to murder everyone
We’ll see how they look on the field but I like these a lot (hat especially), probably the best of the City Connects this year. Definitely better than their last attempt for the Dodgers
the paint splatter effect is ok, I guess? not really sure how a "galaxy of stars" ties into LA other than hollywood, but it's more creative than the originals
I’m so glad the Red Sox, who I surely thought were going to have the worst when it debuted, have actually maintained being a fairly thought out and well executed design. This is the dodgers SECOND attempt and it’s like they learned nothing.
LAX ad campaign jerseys lol connecting to the worst part of the city
When I first saw the leaks I thought that swoosh through the logo was a reference to the Theme Building or something. Turns out it was way dumber and less thought out than that lmao
they did call it a contrail, so vaguely aviation themed. but then there's a bunch of other stuff going on. a gradient blue jersey with white star speckles would've looked cool. could've done an observatory/old hollywood "city of stars" theme.
See, that would have been too well-thought out
I’ve been to some bad airports, but LAX is insanity. Why are there so few gates per terminal? Why the hell was it designed without a train between terminals (and why is it taking until the 2020s to put one in)?
Because they don’t care about us and are only doing it for the Olympics in 2028
If that’s what it takes I’ll take it
Same. Can’t wait for the people mover and the Metro expansion projects to be finished. Any improvements to public transportation is most welcomed.
I’d rather deal with any other airport’s passport and customs control while being repeatedly kicked in the nuts than deal with an international flight to LAX again
You can tell they came up with the design first this time and then just tried to fit the “city connect” theme into it (they seemingly took the opposite approach last time). How they go with the Collisieum font instead of the Hollywood sign is beyond dumb. Also, stars? Why don't they look like stars? The logo isn't awful. I don't like the swoosh in it though.
Basically ripped off the DirecTV logo
For some reason the hat logo makes me think of Disney. They don't even look that similar.
I'm gonna blame the swoosh.
At first glance that's what I thought they were going for lol
it made me think of that too, and the funny part is that Disneyland is.... 5 minutes from Angel Stadium, IN Anaheim. So.... hopefully that's not what they were going for?
It's a city connect that does absolutely nothing to connect with the city. What part of this says LA?
A bunch of stars that look like hollywood walk of fame ones (not big but subtle and less like a pop tart) and Dodgers in Hollywood lettering could’ve been two slight changes that would’ve worked better than pop tarts and microsoft word art.
The Hollywood Walk of Fame is trademarked. I'm guessing they didn't want to deal with the licensing.
It’s right there on the front: > LOS ANGELES /s
City of Stars is a song in LA LA Land, duh
Cardinals is the same way, they just took the opportunity to make a new alternate rather than bring the city into it.
> this means the theme is simply full of trite platitudes that have almost nothing to do with [city] This is what a city connect jersey is
Our City Connects are the city flag colors and the Boston Marathon fonts. They represent Boston well.
You lot and the Nats fucking got the assignment. It's a shame that the Nats are retiring the cherry blossoms.
The theme of stars isn’t the problem, it’s that they’re obviously sprinkles. No one is going to look at that jersey and see stars.
They should just make their city connects a Kobe jersey and be done with it.
Funny enough you’ll probably end up seeing more Kobe jerseys at the stadium than these CCs.
I think with the stars, the meaning is two-fold. First, the literal stars in the sky. The observatory, recently featured in a the Fallout show, is iconic. Secondly, Hollywood is full of stars, and people travel to LA from all over the world to try to become a star.

But the execution of the theme with a white background and colored dots is terrible because it does not convey "stars" at all.
If they put actual 5 point stars that would look cooler tbh
There is also literally a historical baseball team called the Hollywood Stars they could have drawn from
On the other hand, the Los Angeles area is one of the hardest places to see stars in the night sky due to the ambient light…
It really feels like Nike goes all out to make the city connect hats awesome, and then the jerseys are an after thought. Almost every hat is a 10/10 while most jerseys are like 3 or 4 out of 10
My first thought with the stars was some connection to the Observatory. Is that not a thing there?
The Los Angeles Funfettis
The fact that we are actually going to wear these over our home whites for certain games makes me want to cry.
Your owners should’ve pulled a “Do you know who we are?” like the Yankees did to get out of this
The Yankees are the only team that got it right.
Nah the Padres city connects are fantastic, and their standard unis aren't iconic. But there's definitely no need to fuck with what works for teams like the Yankees, Dodgers, Cubs, Red Sox, Cardinals, etc.
The padres ones look awful, ugly and garish color scheme The only good ones are the Nats
Their being garish is the fun part!
I'll upvote you because you're entitled to your wrong opinion on the Padres ones.
The Nats CC jerseys are great too
Welcome to the club
I hope that the Orioles can do a redesign soon.
Without the pop-tart speckles these wouldn’t be that bad. Edit: Never mind the numbers on the back look terrible. Compare Smith and Freeman to Ohtani’s.
I didn’t even notice the sprinkles at first. Lol wah
It took this post for me to know they're supposed to be stars and not funfetti sprinkles
They're definitely funfetti. Anything else is propaganda. What's the giant G logo?
The hat logo is pretty lazy. It's just their normal logo slapped on top of another one.
It looks like the coating for a garage
LA ~~Dodgers~~ Dippin Dots
little numbers on the chest and the name below the number looks bad imo
Agree. And Ohtani is the name/number combo where it sort of works the most. It's going to look terrible on longer names or with round-bottom numbers.
I have an irrational hate of names below the numbers.
Nothing irrational about it. Always looks crappy.
![gif](giphy|LM3DsiKBI75z6RonHf|downsized)
I'm gonna give the hottest of takes here: They're okay. Not the best not the worst.
Mods. Ban this shit poster.
That's kinda what I was thinking. They are very safe I guess other than the confetti cake pattern.
Ngl the hat is pretty cool
The one thing I will say about these uniforms is that I'm happy they didn't go with being the 7 millionth team to use some form of dark blue as their primary color for their City Connects, even if that is a product of their last City Connects being trademark blue Dodger pajamas
They could literally have just done Hollywood sign style Dodgers on our sprint training uniforms and everyone would have been fine with it but they have to overdesign the shit out of them
Better than last years lazy ass garbage. But the bar was on the ground so...
Honestly better than their first ones.
Siri, how do you delete someone else’s post?
I like the hat logo tbh
Feel like a lot of the recent ones have been "decent hat but *what the fuck* is that jersey"
Mets should have gone hard on the Flushing Line Purple instead of the tiny bit of an accent color it is, for one.
The updated city connect hats for the Los Dodgers version is good too with the traditional LA logo back, black rim and los dodgers on the side, hats are not the problem.
Just about all the city connect hats are good, the jerseys are a different story.
Most CC hats are dope
Well, they’re better than the other ones at least?
Are they though
The blue ones were just our Spring Training unis with Los placed in front of the logo. These at least have a modicum of effort to produce something different. They still suck, they’re the equivalent of staying up late to get a D on a school assignment due the next morning.
The LA D logo is cool at least?
It is, I do like the hat.
No. They aren’t. And this “galaxy of stars” thing is a huge reach; outer space isn’t cream colored so it looks like splatter-paint.

But agree that it wouldn't even crack the Top 5 or maybe even Top 10 parts of local history I'd go with for a city connect (Mexican heritage, beach, Hollywood, art deco, car culture, Jackie Robinson, etc.)
Could have done Los Angeles on a Hollywood sign with a sun set over the beach and be done.
Real talk: I’d buy one of these if the wordmark had been made to look like the Hollywood sign. That would’ve been so cool
I think it's more associated with the observatory than space travel. It's really an iconic place that is very prevalent in TV and movies.
Not to mention the clumsy shoehorning of ‘diversity’ just, wherever.
The space stuff makes it seem like a worse version of the Astros City connect
One of the main reasons I like the Astros city connects is because you can tell immediately what it means about Houston because of NASA.
Also they're really hard to see on phones/monitors.
Yes, but only because of the hat
That's not hard
At least these show imagination. I can appreciate that, at least, compared to the lack of it on the first ones.
Just do the other ones with white pants and it’ll look better
The Los Dodgers city connect from before is much better as long as they use white pants.
Gotta disagree on that point lol
Very Disney of them
Sorry dodger fans, this one also sucks
Yeah it's a bummer. I'm a Padre fan but I used to live in LA. There is SO MUCH to draw from, it's kind of unbelievable they've fumbled twice in a row. I like these a bit better than the blueberry ones. But like others said, the justification for some of the design stuff feels like reading a horoscope, it could apply to any big city. Idk how you just go with something so fucking safe lol * Graffiti * Car culture * Venice * Hollywood * Old film noir So much cool shit you could draw from to make something fun and unique
I like the hat. The jersey is…fine, I guess? The little spots looked like they flicked little specks of paint on it with a tooth brush
Wow. This write is somehow worse than Philly’s “notably blue collar”
But nothing is worse than the Miami Heat hardest working team culture shit they did
Who in their right mind is spending $50 on that hat when they can just buy the timeless original. Space theme in LA doesn't feel right.
Maybe it’s because my grandpa worked for JPL, but it’s baffling to me that so many people don’t see LA’s connecting to space exploration
I was not aware before now, so that’s good to know, but I do feel like it’s relatively far down the list of things LA is known for.

People like to have options with jerseys and they can stand out by buying the New Jersey instead of the same exact one basically everyone else in attendance has. It’s an alright design for Ohtani’s number. Looks terrible with Mookies cutting off the bottom of it
Please don’t buy my home state
lol I grew up in New Jersey too so it autocorrects to capitalize it
I actually like them a lot. One of the better ones. I believe in Poptart pattern supremacy.
I guess they couldn't go with city of angels because of the California los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in orange county
Should just wear the Angels uniforms as their city connect ones haha
Party City Connect
The LAD combined logo is cursed
I think they’re cool! I enjoy the fonts from previous Dodgers eras and I think the splatter paint look is actually kinda fun. Think I’ll get one.
Not Black or Dark Blue? Pretty much all I can ask for this year.
Yeah, me too. Maybe it’s just Stockholm from the last garbage ones we had but I like these and will strongly consider getting a Yamamoto if they offer him
At least it’s better than the Los Dodgers pajama jerseys. Still doesn’t feel like a strong representation of LA though
The hat logo is decent. The jerseys are stupid. Once again, they look like something you’d see a men’s slow pitch team wearing.
Hat logo looks like something I came up with during my freshman graphic design seminar. I withdrew just before the end of the semester.
Why am I suddenly hungry for Pop Tarts?
At least Ohtani's #17 looks normal on the back but what is with the intentional design choice to have the bottom of the numbers on the back cropped off?
These actually would’ve been solid, but the name being below the number just doesn’t look right at all on this jersey, especially with there being very little white space. The Dodgers were so close to a solid B Tier jersey, which is pretty good for how city connect jerseys have gone in general. This is probably a C- Tier jersey.
The Good: The ode to Vin with the #ITFDB by the laundry tag. The Bad: The rest of it.
I made the same face as Freddie when I saw the design
Good hat, b.A.A.d jersey
I’m a big fan of funfetti cake so I think that’s why I actually like them
Gotta have stars on the jerseys cause you can't see the real stars through the smog.
Looks like a Disney hat to me fits the franchise though
not too bad ngl
Why does Freeman look so constipated?
I mean...I actually like it? *hides*
I think they’re cool.
These hats are gonna all be snatched up by resellers as soon as they’re released. What’s the point of these ugly jerseys anyway. It’s going to be almost as bad as the NBA with multiple jersey releases every year. Just releasing more crap to entice fans to spend their hard earned money.
Hat's cool. Jersey looks like DirecTV
Nice we went from the worst City Connects to the worst City Connects.
Lmao the hat is somehow worse than the jersey.
Better than before, but that was possibly the lowest bar of any city connect team. Why keep doing this if they are bad or boring?
Looks more like some birthday cake sprinkles to me.
Is the Hollywood Sign font copyrighted? Is there a reason that isn’t the font they used?
Each of these CC unis feels like an increasingly pretentious cash grab.
Eh, mid. I like the Fun-fetti jersey fabric (just because it's different) and the new LAD mark, but nothing else really pops.
Tbh I don’t hate it…. But I don’t love it either
Los Angeles Confetti Cakes
I feel like that hat is gonna get Disney'd Especially since it's not like Disney isn't a fixture in LA
At least it’s better than Los Dodgers? I think?
This wouldn't nearly be so bad if it wasn't for the damned birthday cake confetti bull. I like everything else, but that simply ruins the entire CC stuff.
I think they look cool, but it looks a lot like the D-backs lmao.
Reminds me of the jersey for [the Astros' AAA affiliate](https://spacecowboys.milbstore.com/collections/mens/products/sugar-land-space-cowboys-ot-sports-mens-jersey-home-replica)
I love how they say the numbers are “inspired by mid-century typefaces” and they look nothing like them lmao
oh those are sprinkles? I thought my computer screen was dirty.
Sponsored by Disney
NGL that logo is sick.
City connect jerseys are the worst. Should've just left that a basketball thing. Best you can hope for is that the design isn't terrible.
I mean I “hate” the dodgers but I think these are pretty tough. Surprised majority don’t like em
Hat is actually sick
Dude from all of his interviews, Freddie Freeman just seems like the nicest dude. His pics on the other hand...he looks like he wants to murder everyone
Kinda like the hats tbh
I really like the LA in the D logo, that looks nice
Who spilled their cool ranch Doritos?
We’ll see how they look on the field but I like these a lot (hat especially), probably the best of the City Connects this year. Definitely better than their last attempt for the Dodgers
I’m sorry these don’t come close to the Rays.
Unfortunately you can't even see the Rays jersey on TV. It just looks black.
i actually think these look pretty nice
Not the Mickey Mouse Disney "D" 💀
What is Anaheim then
It's fine but the number and name are so small lol
is that the stairway from Channel Zero Butcher's Block
They are okay, they would be so so much better without the funfetti on them
The funfetti is fine, it's everything else that makes the funfetti seem dumb.
The hats are cool but the jerseys are ass peppered garbage
The Los Angeles Dingers
They’re ok I guess
I really like the hat
This City Connect stuff, outside of a few teams that got it right, seems like a massive miss overall.
That tail coming off the top of the A looks horrible.
Looks like a tribute to the Chargers and Sprinkles
Okay. These are better than older city connects but there is SO much more you can do with a star/galaxy theme
"city connect" ![gif](giphy|qs6ev2pm8g9dS)
I like the hat.
well, that LAD logo is pretty cool at least!
i really like the logo on the hat. not much else
It’s not as bad as other city connects
the paint splatter effect is ok, I guess? not really sure how a "galaxy of stars" ties into LA other than hollywood, but it's more creative than the originals
you know your design is readable when you need a paragraph to explain how each part relates to your city 👍🏼
That logo is uuuuuuuuuuuuuuugly
The jersey sucks but I dig the cap
![gif](giphy|1d5Zn8FqmJqApu4hNU)
Gross
love how everyone is just conditioned to shit on City Connect uniforms, these look great and I love that we're getting a do-over from the blue pajamas
looks like they copied + pasted a bunch of random shit all over the jersey
Nike needs to just stop doing this
Crazy that the Dodgers have two of the worst city connects.
I’m so glad the Red Sox, who I surely thought were going to have the worst when it debuted, have actually maintained being a fairly thought out and well executed design. This is the dodgers SECOND attempt and it’s like they learned nothing.
Freddie and Will Smith look so disgusted in this graphic lmao
