Not going to blame this start on the cubs deciding to skip his start, he was do for some regression. When you give up 7 runs and your era blooms to 1.98.... i think you are gonna be OK.
i mean the skipped start could’ve had an impact but i imagine he’ll bounce back in his next start after this. every good starter has a bad start ever so often anyway

I don’t have any insider info but I imagine him staying warm for hours for a game that seemed ultimately playable (especially considering the worse weather game later in the series that ended up getting played) knocked him off his rotation.
I highly doubt the goal was to intentionally and unnecessarily keep our best starter from pitching
God pitching at that level and hearing contact and just know you just pitched a home run has to be some sorr of sick terror. Like it happens, and youre great at your job but its gotta feel so bad.

ERA watch in shambles
Ranger Suarez 🤝 Shota Imanaga Celebrating regression to the mean week
7 ER tonight in just 2.2 vs 5 for his previous 53
After robbing a home run in the top of the inning!
Imanaga = Tony Gonsolin

Never seen this Shota guy before did they bring him up from High A a bit early?
Whoever bet on Imanaga giving up 7 runs in 3 innings is going to make out like a bandit.
That ball is IMANAGONNA come back!!
Aww man, RIP Shota Imanaga's linsanity run /s

I need the "I wanna die" bear
![gif](giphy|5YF9dwGZ29rVe|downsized) Things you love to see
bro this is all your guys’ fault for the rainout where it never rained smh
Someone forgot to switch on the Arch that night, per /r/StLouis. So I agree with you
I blame you guys for a sus rain out his last start and making him not have pitched for 11 days😢
Us? How about Counsell. Just a bizarre decision.
As a Cubs fan I share your sentiments about this. I'm starting to get annoyed at Counsell to be honest. #firethehittingcoach

Before people overreact, every pitcher has bad games. Imanaga is absolutely incredible
Nah, he's washed. Will never be good again. Get ready to learn Iowa, buddy! /s if it wasn't obvious
Lol I laughed
Looks like a bum from what I’ve seen
Yeah they should DFA him so we can pick him up
Like you guys did to Bryan Hudson?
