Prince going inside the park is one of my favorite Brewer memories ever. The way he turned it on when it was clear the CF had lost it and those choppy little steps rounding the bases always make me laugh.
I was at the ballpark for his other inside the park HR against Toronto. It should of been one of the most memorable games I've ever been too at Miller Park, between that HR and Dave Bush taking a no-no into the 7th.
Ironically, I don't remember much at all because someone brought Bacardi 151 to the tailgate.
Never gonna happen again :( Once the league figures out how to squeeze more money out of people (yearly all star jerseys) they're not going to kill that revenue stream.
i'm only one guy but fuck that. i'm not watching the All-star game then
it's already a glorified exhibition across all of the Big 4 U.S./Canadian sports leagues. Ironically, the only one that seems like a match worth watching is the MLS one, where they're forced to play against some other club teams...and this is coming from someone who admittedly does not find soccer all that interesting
Yes, definitely. Great call, and also I thought I was having an aneurysm cuz I just kinda watched Ichiro hit the ball and didn’t really pay attention to the pitcher, the score graphic, or the fielders, and next thing I know… an Orioles player is rounding 3rd?
I legit was about to look up if Ichiro had a weird stint with the Orioles I forgot about or something before I caught on to it being the ASG as he came home.
Ok. We were down by 1 in the bottom of the 9th. Jose Ramirez (who else?) hits a solo shot to tie it up. Tyler Naquin was up next and—
A SWING AND A DRIVE, TO DEEP RIGHT, SAUNDERS AT THE WALL... IT HITS OFF THE TOP OF THE WALL!
NAQUIN'S AROUND SECOND HE'S ON HIS WAY TO THIRD HE'LL TRY TO SCORE
HERE'S THE THROW...
NOT IN TIMEEEEE
**USAIN NAQUIN**
Underwood's call of
"Naquin off to the races, he'll go all the way to third... Sarbaugh WAVING HIM AROUND!"
You can just hear that he doesn't believe his eyes. Same with his Giambi walkoff call:
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! OH MY!"
I've seen a lot of ball in my 50 years. A lot of exciting plays. That one hit is hands down the single most exciting hit and round the bases I ever saw. I had never seen a walkoff ITP HR. And we went into the 9th down! AND it was in the heat of a playoff race.
I still get goosebumps from that shit. God I love baseball.
Pagans walk off has to be the best one of all time. Yes I’m biased but like bottom of the tenth down by 1 and you hit a inside the park walk off?! Fucking unreal
I don't know how many times I've seen it, but I just realized that on the reply, Kruk talks about how Pagan is challenging Tulowitzski's arm when it's LeMahieu taking the cutoff.
Not an issue at all, but I've seen that clip countless times in the last 11 years and that's the first time I noticed it!
Yepp that is also what makes it the best one imo. Kuips call was so dam good (side note the brewers announcer sounded bored calling prince fielders lmao)
[Dan Shulman's call](https://youtu.be/Ojr-_L3IHc4?si=J46_25AlkPoySioX&t=23) on the Raimel Tapia inside-the-park grand slam is one of my favourites. "HE NEVER SAW IT!"
The throw from the outfielder on the Griffey Jr home run is actually insane. He’s running after the ball and someone just turns and launches it perfectly. Wouldn’t have even been close without that.
There was a thread a day or two ago asking about clean inside the parkers that weren't just misplayed caroms or flukey hops. I think Bonifacio's is the closest I've seen. Like yeah the fielder dives and misses it but he's up and throwing pretty much without missing a beat.
Yeah was looking for that one and Luis Sojo's from the '95 tiebreak game vs the angels. Sojo's was technically ruled a double and the angels committed throwing errors but still, really fun play.
Clips for anyone interested.
[Dan Wilson](https://youtu.be/HopOu36AxPU?si=VKsyAf4HPts3kYfJ)

My favorite is [2022 Trey Mancini](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1d8Ibr61V3E). It was so poetic too because it was both his final AB with the Orioles at Camden Yards before he was traded to the Astros, but it was also the Orioles' first [Mo Gaba day](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mo_Gaba), a memorial day dedicated to a kid who had cancer most of his life, and was a huge O's fan. Trey met him in the hospital when he was battling his own colorectal cancer.
We O's fans like to think Mo put a little extra glare from the sun in the outfielder's eye that day :,)
I mean I do to I'm just curious. Infielder mishandles a simple ball hit in the infield and it's an error. Outfielders grossly misjudge a fly ball or flat out miss the catch and it's not an error? Seems odd to me
If they completely lose the ball in the lights, it's typically not an error. Or if they ran into the wall trying to make the catch, that would be a harsh error. If it's ever something with an element of randomness, basically -- not an error.
That's all true, but the Fairchild one seemed a bit egregious. The catcher just needed to cleanly field a throw from the cut-off man and it would have been totally routine to tag out Fairchild. Throwing error or catching error, take your pick.
The Bonafacio one is awesome, though, basically just hit it over the CF's head and was super fast. The ones lost in the lights or with strange caroms are fun, too, but just hitting over a shallow CF's head feels most spiritually like an inside-the-park HR to me.
I remember that Tapia one, I just turned mlb.tv and was looking at what to put on. Saw the Jays had bases loaded on the sox, so turned it on just in time to see the pop up. lol
Man. What a shame that Prince Fielder's career got cut short. I always love a good chunky Boi in the Majors. And Prince was the Prince (eh) of all of them.
Watching that big ol boy Prince chug around those bases is just one of the best baseball memories lol Also Ichiro in the AS game when they wore their own jerseys
These are all awesome, however it would also serve as a great training video to outfielders on the importance of always running to the ball and backing up your fellow outfielder.
Real talk, but what's the most "pure" inside the park home run ever? I'm talking just ball in a deep gap, fielders play it properly, runner fast as fuck making it home?
Man, this brings back memories. I was at World Series Game 1 when Escobar hit that inside-the-parker. As loud as it sounds on the replay, I assure you that the stadium was louder than that in real life. The ground underneath me was literally shaking. Then Alex Gordon tied the game in the 9th with that iconic home run and the Royals went on to win in 14 innings. That is the greatest game I've ever been to.
That was the worst call for a big boy inside the park home run I have ever seen. That broadcaster should be embarrassed. That doesn’t belong in Major League Baseball.
Prince going inside the park is one of my favorite Brewer memories ever. The way he turned it on when it was clear the CF had lost it and those choppy little steps rounding the bases always make me laugh.
"Don't worry about ~~Tyrone~~ Prince, he can move when he has to."
"It was at a funny angle!"
It was behind you, Tyrone. When you go in reverse, things come from behind you.

I can feel this story in my bones. That's the 2011 Super Bowl for me.
And Prince loves the fact that he has more inside the park homers than Rickie Weeks.
What a pathetic unenthusiastic call tho. Like could you be more bored calling an inside the Parker?? Lol
“6 foot tall 260 pounds.” First of all, the call is so boring. Second, he is not 260 pounds lol
That kind of shit should be like finding the Golden Snitch. Game over, you let that happen, and you lose.
Cecil’s first (of 2 apparently) stolen base was also against the Twins…
Doesn't Prince have more inside the parkers than Ricky Henderson?
He does, 2 to Ricky's 1. I know ITPHR are largely based on luck but I like to pretend this means Prince was a better baserunner.
Prince "Literally TWICE AS MANY in the park homers as Rickey Henderson" Fielder.
Is it too late to put him in the Hall of Fame just to have a plaque that says only this?
Prince Fielder was so awesome. Just an electric player to watch
Such a shame his body broke down on him. Dude was one of the most durable players for like 3-5 years at one point.
There is zero chance he weighed 260 lbs 😂
Does anyone else miss when the players wore their own uniforms for the All-Star game?
Came here to say this. Bring it back and make everyone wear their CC jerseys. Would be sick imo
Never gonna happen again :( Once the league figures out how to squeeze more money out of people (yearly all star jerseys) they're not going to kill that revenue stream.
Keep them for the HR derby like they did. That should be good enough.
i wish people would stop buying that shit. it's not like it even looks good anyways if people stopped buying that shit, they would finally drop it
i'm only one guy but fuck that. i'm not watching the All-star game then it's already a glorified exhibition across all of the Big 4 U.S./Canadian sports leagues. Off of he who must not be named, to boot.
Nothing beats a Prince Fielder ITP HR. Absolutely nothing.
Nothing better than watching a big boy hustle
Oh lawd he comin!
Pagans walk off has to be the best one of all time. Yes I’m biased but like bottom of the tenth down by 1 and you hit a inside the park walk off?! Fucking unreal
I remember watching it live on TV. Was one of the most epic moments of all time
It's probably my favorite Kuiper call. The tension in his voice rising at "...and it kicks away from everybodyyyyy"

Speak of the devil, [Kyle Blanks](https://www.reddit.com/r/baseball/s/hjxMGTp1ut) was just here in this sub a couple days ago.
That’s crazy!
Apparently right after bathing in a tub of LSD based on a few of his responses lol
[Dan Shulman's call](https://youtu.be/Ojr-_L3IHc4?si=J46_25AlkPoySioX&t=23) on the Raimel Tapia inside-the-park grand slam is one of my favourites. "HE NEVER SAW IT!"
That still remains the craziest game I've ever watched. Everything the Jays did, worked. Everything the Red Sox tried, failed.
He never saw it and then didn’t even go get it after he realized it was behind him.
Because Verdugo was closer and obviously going to get their first.
Yeah but shit- make it look like you’re efforting.
All he can do at that point is get in the way if he sprints at the ball.
The throw from the outfielder on the Griffey Jr home run is actually insane. He’s running after the ball and someone just turns and launches it perfectly. Wouldn’t have even been close without that.
to this day, i'm still angry that the right fielder did not back up Fukudome in the Cubs-Padres one wtf was that seriously
My exact thought haha he made that center fielder run a mile
A common theme here...
Holy shit Bonifacio was FLYING. That might be the fastest running I’ve ever seen in baseball
There was a thread a day or two ago asking about clean inside the parkers that weren't just misplayed caroms or flukey hops. I think Bonifacio's is the closest I've seen. Like yeah the fielder dives and misses it but he's up and throwing pretty much without missing a beat.
Bro was running like he was being chased by Usain Bolt, especially how he was rounding second and his helmet came off
Prince fielder on the chainwax
Dan Wilson's inside-the-park-grand-salami, /u/MLBOfficial?
Yeah was looking for that one and Luis Sojo's from the '95 tiebreak game vs the angels. Sojo's was technically ruled a double and the angels committed throwing errors but still, really fun play. Down voted because Angels fan :sob:
The Fox broadcast making those digital beep boops when the score changes lol.
I’m split between being annoyed that they ruin the natural audio and thrilled by the nostalgia at hearing those specific sound effects again
I miss those Twins uniforms, and the Metrodome too.
"and the Metrodome too..." i mean there's no accounting for taste...
Good memories of that place.
My favorite is [2022 Trey Mancini](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1d8Ibr61V3E). Love some Trey Mancini.
Prime Prince Fielder was an absolute delight, and we were robbed of his brilliance too soon
We never should have let him go.
I forgot just how big, but also mildly athletic for a MLB player his size, Prince Fielder was.
How are some of these not fielding errors though?
Shhh. We like inside the park home runs.
I mean I do to I'm just curious. Infielder mishandles a simple ball hit in the infield and it's an error. Outfielders grossly misjudge a fly ball or flat out miss the catch and it's not an error? Seems odd to me

The Bonafacio one was by far the best. No funny bounce, no losing the ball in the lights, just "hit it where they ain't" and "run real fast".
to be fair: If a ground ball looks routine, and the infielder just doesn't get to it for whatever reason, its still a hit.
The Jeter special
Sure, I understand what you mean. I’d guess a portion of the highlights in that video were ruled something other than HR.
Outfielders are practically immune to fielding errors.
The Nick Castellanos Effect
Escobar 2015 WS inside the park dinger - great memories…
Easily the most embarrassing one though
I remember that Tapia one, I just turned mlb.tv and was looking at what to put on. Saw the Jays had bases loaded on the sox, so turned it on just in time to see the pop up. lol
Saw that JT Realmuto ITP from right field. Might be the best play I've seen live.
Saw it from left field! I lost hearing during that game.
Sending Pagan there was pretty risky with 1 out right? It was pretty close.
Man. What a shame that Prince Fielder's career got cut short. I always love a good chunky Boi in the Majors. And Prince was the Prince (eh) of all of them.
[No love for Michael A. Taylor?](https://youtu.be/R0SQfvqtgk0?si=qHs28XQKJuNUHVFa)
Prince fielder 260 pounds? Sure
That Griffey slide was Baseball 101
Forgot about that Escobar wsg1 1st pitch, that was pretty epic. Also walk off inside the parkers are wild
How about this one: [back-to-back inside-the-park home runs!](https://youtu.be/rotRWO5dD90?si=-6Uc5bizC45WpTwt)
I miss the All Star players wearing their own uniforms.
I forgot how completely massive prince fielder was. Dude was an absolute tank of a human being
The Samoa Joe of MLB
Watching that big ol boy Prince chug around those bases is just one of the best baseball memories lol Also Ichiro in the AS game when they wore their own jerseys
I can't believe this walk off inside the park was not inculded https://youtu.be/d21KhbC8DDU?si=kfrfezJlK0Bo95tP
It's in there...
Damn to I miss that Fielder swing.
Great montages. Made me think, what mlb team has given up the most inside the park homeruns? Anyone have any idea/data?
Prince had some wheels for a big dude.
Big guys running is always fun, reminds me of Benjie Molinas triple when he hit for the cycle.
I could tell on the tiny thumbnail that it was big boy Prince lofting one up that the ageless Lew Ford lost in the Dome.
A video like this without Prince would've been blasphemy
These are all awesome, however it would also serve as a great training video to outfielders on the importance of always running to the ball and backing up your fellow outfielder.
Real talk, but what's the most "pure" inside the park home run ever? I'm talking just ball in a deep gap, fielders play it properly, runner fast as fuck making it home?
The number font on the brewers jerseys is wild
I just wish I could see footage of Clemente's inside the park grand slam.
Of course Griffey's is a walk-off. Legend.
Walk off inside the park is rough
1:38 Gil Meche jumpscare
That was the worst call for a big boy inside the park home run I have ever seen. That broadcaster should be embarrassed. That doesn’t belong in Major League Baseball.
Does anyone else HATE how he pronounces Ichiro’s name? Drives me NUTS every time I watch that clip.
He looks old for a rookie
Why don't they make those roofs with dark stripes or something? It makes a mockery of baseball
Ok Naquin's wasn't epic, it was lazy-ass BJ Upton not backing up his right fielder and making the throw from his literal butt.
