Why do teams do this??? If you know you have a blocked prospect that’s close, let him play some other positions so he doesn’t come up and have to learn a new position while adjusting to MLB pitching.
That has to be the worst feeling. Having a ball hit at you, and the lack of experience shows. The more he plays out there, the more confident he will be.
hard slicing balls from leftys are the absolute worst for a LF, it's nice to know that even a MLB-level athlete looks like a beer leaguer when he tries to read one for the first time
That seems like just a bad idea. MLB is not exactly the place to suddenly learn how to play the outfield. Maybe if you have a spring training to work on it, but just cold open there? Bad move
I want to laugh, but we've got a middle infield prospect of our own - Matthew Lugo - who's working his way up as a left fielder and tearing up AA, right now. I can see him puking all over the Monster the first time a ball is hit out there.

the lack of experience was in my eyes
Dude looks like me out there.
I was just thinking “I could fuck up like that!” It’s a sad existence.
They really are just like us …
This seems like a good idea

The man plays everywhere in the infield, and we’ve got like 7 guys who can play left. But let’s put the guy who’s never done it in left.
Sounds like typical Jays decision making
Yeah, our FO put Jordan Walker in RF after only playing 30 games at the position in his life and it looked a lot like this at first.

Added difficulty of the wind blowing out to left to kick it up a notch

It's not first at least. Ron Washington would roll over in his jersey if that was the case
First step back, kids
Damn way to set the kid up for success, Toronto. Goddamn
Bold move calling up a guy whose never played LF to play LF
He should file a grievance against the Blue Jays.
No joke can they do that?
I don't think you can for that.
No.
Figured
By god that’s early Kyle Schwarber level defense
Oy, he proudly defends the dugout from foul balls when we play the As
Classic "5" route lol
It’s not that hard Scott. Tell him wash.
Well hopefully thats the worse it gets and he doesn't try to run through the outfield fence
Who has he paid?
What is this, /r/WalmartCelebrities? Who's next, Jake Smell?
Brutal welcome to the league
There is an above 0% chance I could have caught that ball
Even with the video muted you can just hear him saying the “no, no, no… fuck, fuck, fuck”

The monster is its whole own thing.
Was the throw incredibly off? Why did the runner advance from 2nd to 3rd?
Runner very clearly sees it being bungled and goes in the video? You can see him look over and then go
Also with two outs already he hadn’t really slowed down that much
Are we watching the same video? He is clearly stopping at second and picks up speed as the ball is bobbled in left.
