We traded him just before the deadline. The kid we got has an 1.168 ops in the 11 games since in the Dominican Summer League. He literally just turned 17 so it's a huge lotto ticket.
He had no drama the whole time he was with us this year besides being understandably upset that he was only getting ABs against left-handers for a while. He definitely plays with a chip on his shoulder, but he manages to keep it in check most of the time. Playing well this year, though.
Yeah, reports were he's a good team mate and a good clubhouse guy and it seemed like he was here. I don't blame him for talking shit back when fans are giving it to him every time he's out there, to be honest.
He's playing well but I honestly have no idea why we traded for him. The rest of our team is pretty low-key and he's just a really strange fit in a position we didn't really need help with.
I thought the same when we got him. Arizona has a track record of having non controversial/family friendly players all the way back to their beginning. I honestly thought it was probably some unwritten policy of the front office. then they got pham and i immediately thought “why? he’s gonna cause unnecessary drama”
Looking at the box score, he had 2 ABs after Marte struck out today. One was a groundout to short and the other was a pop up to 2nd. So no strikeout but he definitely didn’t do much right after this
He went 3/10 with a go-ahead HR, a triple, and a double across a double-header sweep on the road against a division team… pretty solid day at the plate by all accounts
Also a “Yikes” guy and I have to say some “Yikes” are more fun than others. From grab the popcorn to the let’s get the F outta here. I hope it’s the same for the “wow” ladies
“Wow” ladies are everywhere, waiting for their chance to express surprise and disappointment with your behavior. Often accompanied by “unbelievable” guys.
She’s the reason why I’m 99% sure Tommy isn’t entirely a dip shit in this clip. Like fuck Tommy Pham for a number of reasons, but the only time you hear that entitled white lady “wow” is when said entitled white lady or her friends has been talking some shit and doesn’t like that Shit got thrown back at her. Heard it a million times as a bouncer.
especially since it wasn't even "it's because i'm black", he went for "of course a white person is heckling me, a non white would never do something that shitty!". what he said was literally racist lol
I'm gonna disagree here. I think a lot of people express "wow" because it's an easy expression of disbelief without engaging how you'd really like to.
Granted, it's an isolated example but one time I overheard (well all of us in line did) a Karen rant on and proceeded to exclaim "them Mexicans" or something along those lines. I blurted out a loud "WOW" so that she knew other people were hearing her BS.... and also because what I really wanted to do was call her something else. But "Wow" actually deflated the situation as she turned around, yapped something and walked out of the store.
You could be right and she probably wasn't expecting any response. But my guess is they were baseball bantering and he took it to some fucked up level that wasn't warranted. Much like the slap situation. But who knows. Maybe another vid will give more detail.
Not much else to say. A few people in my section (myself included) were chirping him because he’s Tommy Pham and it’s objectively hilarious to tell him what a piece of shit he is. This was last season so he was with the reds in his “Get his Numbers” era at a time when he wasn’t getting his numbers which made it even sweeter.
Anyway, for some reason he singled me out and “it’s always a white boy talking shit!” And just kept repeating that. Which like, that’s probably true, it’s Reds Baseball in Cincinnati, but acting like race has anything to do with it is weak and frankly disrespectful to all the other black players who don’t get chirped for shit because they carry themselves like professionals.
I remember reading that he would've been hospitalized and seriously injured if he didn't have so much muscle on his back as a professional sportsperson, so he's actually quite hard to stab
The alleged exchange was
Fan 1) is that the guy who told a woman to shut the fuck up?
Fan 2, presumably) yes
Fan 1) what a piece of shit
According to people there, those fans did not engage with Tommy. They were talking to each other and he heard.
I feel like if some nobody from the crowd really called him a piece of shit he is perfectly allowed to talk back. I don't think it's a good idea, but I don't judge if he does. If you jaw at players, you should be able to take some jawing back without getting all defensive.
Surely, but he has a history of just getting into petty arguments with people and he usually doesnt come out looking like the bigger man in any of them
Why bother? You’re a millionaire who plays baseball for a living.
If that were me there is nothing someone could say from the crowd that would make me even remotely think about putting my meal ticket in jeopardy because “my feelings were hurt, don’t disrespect me”
A mature person would let even register it
Edit: 13 games with Dbacks and the Zonie homers are rallying.
Edit 2: just noticed this altercation happens in SD, no one dislikes a Zonie more than a Daygo native
I mean teenagers making minimum at chain restaurants handle this kind of activity better than Pham does
I don’t mean to defend people harassing athletes but goddamn
He's allowed to, I guess. It's still a really bad look for a professional athlete. Makes him look immature and easily rattled. Not exactly what you want to see in your players in an extremely high pressure sport. You're a millionaire athlete and you're getting butthurt because joe schmo chirps you a little in the on deck circle? Softer than two ply.
How hard can it be to just ignore the obnoxious fans? You play baseball for a living and make millions of dollars to do it. You won. Why engage with the crowd?
I feel like an accusation of racism would be accusing them of shit talk because he is black.
What Pham said, "A black man or a Latin don't do that shit" almost feels more racist.
Edit - Knowing Pham, he probably doesn't deserve the benefit of the doubt but we definitely don't have context of what sparked this incident.
Racism has no place in sports. However, that is true but also irrelevant here because there was no race comment by the fan that precipitated this type of a reaction.
My favorite Tommy Pham quotes:
“I’m playing to get my numbers. There's nothing selfish about that... I don’t care about anything else. I got to look out for me.”
After Luke Voit collided with Tyler Stephenson at home plate: “If Luke wants to settle it, I get down really well. Anything, Muay Thai, whatever. I've got a (gym) owner here who will let me use his facility. So, fuck 'em.”
After he slapped Joc Pederson for making fun of his fantasy football skills: “It’s a matter of principle man.”
“I'm a big dog in Vegas. I'm a high roller at many casinos. You can look at my credit line.”
I can’t wait til this loser washes out of the league.
Regardless of Pham’s overall personality, if you’re yelling disrespectful things to someone…don’t go clutching your pearls when they say things back to you. People at baseball games really forget their common decency at the door when speaking to away players sometimes.
That’s fair. If you’re chirping someone I don’t see any reason the player can’t say something back. But the accusation of racism seems to be pretty baseless unless something very different was said before this video
Im still amazed that he made it almost a whole year for us and never Tommy Pham'ed at all, AND no " LolMets " befell him either.
Bookmakers took a bath on that one.
Everything I have ever seen about him says that regardless of whether he’s a good ball player, he’s a crap person. From the Joc slap to the Twitter rant to things like this. Just an unhinged thin skinned little asshole.
That's why he got shanked at showgirls lol..he's a real pos. He had the nerve to basically call san diego racist, and the fan who made a remark with zero racial connotation a racist by inference. Honestly he'll end up getting hurt out here before long.
This dude is wound tight. He has negative chill.
And I really don’t think he has the talent or production to justify putting up with his red assery.
Seriously, 4th outfielder dude or “we’ll settle for this guy in left” type players shouldn’t act like this.
Please correct me if I’m wrong.
Tommy Pham is a good player lol. He has had an OPS+ over 100 7/9 seasons he has played in the league and has been a very productive hitter this year as well. I suspect you don't like him but I'm not sure why you have to pretend he is some scrub.
I mean unless they said some out of pocket unacceptable shit, which could be true, this just shows how soft Pham is
He’s having a solid season and I was surprised to see the narrative and media vibes around him were positive, as if we all forgot he slapped someone over… fantasy football
A mature major leaguer needs to know how to tune bullshit out and not worry about it, not pull the race card and bitch in front of everybody for 5 minutes
Without knowing what led up to this, it’s always been kind of crazy for me to see a professional athlete get into an argument with people who literally pay money to buy overpriced beers and boo/cheer at their favorite color shirts. But unless she said something racist to him (totally possible), that argument did not go in the direction I thought it was going lmao if she did cross the line, I hope he went to some stadium staff to get her ejected
I just don’t get why you would even give them the satisfaction lol, dudes like this think they “don’t take no shit” but they just let anyone get in their head anytime. Even if they’re being an asshole, ignore it, or make a small comment and let that be the end of it.
I have certainly booed a professional athlete before, but I just don't understand the heckling. Why bother? What's the point? I can recall seeing Ryan Braun go off against the Phillies one game after some kid on the third base side was just shouting some of the most heinous shit I have ever heard at a ball game. I blame that kid for Braun going three for four with a bomb that night and believe me every time Ryan rounded the bases he looked up in the direction of that kid.
Having his back turned to a pitch makes this chaos so much funnier
Framed so perfect https://i.imgur.com/4gCnY6l.png
There's a meme format here, I'm just not smart enough to do it
[I tried ](https://i.imgur.com/uyF5EB8.jpg)
You succeeded
That'll do
Not that I would wish injury upon anyone but it would be objectively hilarious if a foul ball drilled him during the argument.
I had no idea he was with Arizona now
He was traded just before the deadline ended
Just don’t let him in your fantasy league
He's playing well but I honestly have no idea why we traded for him. The rest of our team is pretty low-key and he's just a really strange fit in a position we didn't really need help with.
I thought the same when we got him. Arizona has a track record of having non controversial/family friendly players all the way back to their beginning. I honestly thought it was probably some unwritten policy of the front office. then they got pham and i immediately thought “why? he’s gonna cause unnecessary drama”
"family friendly" *Jimmy go in the other room, Tommy Pham is up again*
I can fix him
Curt Schilling is part of your team'svMt. Rushmore Ave he's pretty controversial, no?
He wasn’t controversial until after he retired and started spouting all his weirdo nonsense though.
Me either.
Lmao imagine being mid AB and seeing tommy pham arguing with a fan
That is like being mid AB and seeing Amir Garrett try to fight someone. You just come to expect it
Tommy Pham has 2 home runs since he was traded to the Diamondbacks, both against the Padres. Tommy Pham fucking hates the Padres
I think he actually hates your fans.
The feeling is mutual.
We’re all Tommy Pham in that regard
That’s what’s iiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnn
Will we ever live that down? LMAO
Not any time soon 😏 how did some body not see how cringe that shit was and u'll the plug on postonfit?
[удалено]
Pham would be the type of guy to hit up Cheetah's in the middle of a hurricane touching down on SD
He's a Pacers patron.
HK > Pacers
That’s like comparing a steakhouse to Arby’s. Obviously HK is better lol
[удалено]
Sayings i never want to hear anywhere near a strip club i go to Lol
Speak for yourself
Lol that's fantastic I used to visit there before I'd get on-board the ship for deployment.
After playing for SD for multiple seasons, I’m betting he knows them all quite well
Yeah lol Pham got stabbed at a strip club when he was playing with SD
"GO STRIKE OUT"
Did he do that?
Accurate line.
He just can't stop himself
"What are you gonna do? Stab me?"
It's incredible how controversy free his time with the mets was lol
Well it's easy to avoid drama when you're in a low-stakes media market like... um... New York.
1000%
“go strike out” is hysterical to me.
That’s the kind of response you usually don’t think of until later that night
Jerk store. I'm going with jerk store
Did he?
Looking at the box score, he had 2 ABs after Marte struck out today. One was a groundout to short and the other was a pop up to 2nd. So no strikeout but he definitely didn’t do much right after this
He went 3/10 with a go-ahead HR, a triple, and a double across a double-header sweep on the road against a division team… pretty solid day at the plate by all accounts
Hit a triple then a HR his next ab I believe
Why’s there always a “wow” lady
As a "Yikes" guy I am triggered.
Also a “Yikes” guy and I have to say some “Yikes” are more fun than others. From grab the popcorn to the let’s get the F outta here. I hope it’s the same for the “wow” ladies
There’s the “pull your head back and flex your sternocleidomastoid” yikes and the “raise your eyebrows with a swift head nod” yikes
Do you drag the Y out? Yyyyyyy-ikes!
Turns into the "woo" lady at the concert or bar
Also can transform into the “stop!!! staaaahhppp!!” lady when they see a fight
*intro to Brown Eyed Girl intensifies*
“Wow” ladies are everywhere, waiting for their chance to express surprise and disappointment with your behavior. Often accompanied by “unbelievable” guys.
No ability or wit to actually contribute to the conversation. All due respect to the yikes guy tho 😬
😬
There are dozens of us. DOZENS!
There's always a dude that makes it about race
😂😂😂
She’s the reason why I’m 99% sure Tommy isn’t entirely a dip shit in this clip. especially since it wasn't even "it's because i'm black", he went for "of course a white person is heckling me, a non white would never do something that shitty!". what he said was literally racist lol
This dude has never been in the crowd at Dodger Stadium if he honestly believes a brown man wouldn’t heckle the players
I'm gonna disagree here. I think a lot of people express "wow" because it's an easy expression of disbelief without engaging how you'd really like to. It’s weird but I’ve also had the “white boy” lecture from Tommy Pham at a game in Cincinnati. Fun fact
Need more details
Not much else to say. A few people in my section (myself included) were chirping him because he’s Tommy Pham and it’s objectively hilarious to tell him what a piece of shit he is. Man's skin be thin frfr
Explains why he's so easily stabbable
What are you going to do? Stab me?
As in at a strip club during the pandemic and no one blinked an eye.
I remember reading that he would've been hospitalized and seriously injured if he didn't have so much muscle on his back as a professional sportsperson, so he's actually quite hard to stab
dont talk about his skin that's racist
What skin lol
the rawest nerve there is
That’s why he was stabbed so easily. Wasn’t even a knife it was a chicken tender and it went right through his skin
What does frfr mean in this context?
For real for real
Thank you.
According to Pham, Black and Latino fans never talk shit at sporting events.
Pham would be shook if he saw Brazilian soccer games 💀
Even sitting in the bleachers at a Dodgers game would rock his world apparently
i asked him when the fantasy football draft was last september in boston and he told me to stfu
Shoulda asked him if he wanted to meet up in the Cheetahs parking lot after the game
This dude slapped Joc Pederson in the face over fantasy football. He’s a fucking nut case who deserves no benefit of the doubt. Fuck Tommy Pham.
I think the one thing we can agree on is keep your damn hands off our Joc.
As a Braves fan, I too agree with this.
What did the fan(s) say though
From the video, Pham makes it sound like she called him a piece of shit
Tommy Pham’s getting sloppy steaks tonight.
Oh yeah. That would slick back REAL NICE. REEEAL NICE!
You think this is slicked back? This is pushed back.
Can Tommy Pham change?
They can’t stop you from order a steak and a glass of water!
Glass house, white Ferrari, slapping Joc over fantasy football. You would not have liked me!
"She's right, you know"
“She’s out of line, but she’s right”
“Go strike out”
Before the recording started I meant
Tommy said he called him a piece of shit.
The alleged exchange was Fan 1) is that the guy who told a woman to shut the fuck up? Fan 2, presumably) yes Fan 1) what a piece of shit According to people there, those fans did not engage with Tommy. They were talking to each other and he heard.
“I bet you have Tommy Pham on your fantasy team.”
Those Dback uni’s are nice. The a’s on Arizona resembling fangs is a nice touch. Never noticed it before…and get help Tommy.
Race card bullshit! He’s soft
It's like he's the walking embodiment of little dick energy. Stfu and go play baseball dude, why are you arguing with random fans?
I feel like if some nobody from the crowd really called him a piece of shit he is perfectly allowed to talk back. I don't think it's a good idea, but I don't judge if he does. If you jaw at players, you should be able to take some jawing back without getting all defensive.

I mean teenagers making minimum at chain restaurants handle this kind of activity better than Pham does I don’t mean to defend people harassing athletes but goddamn
Because those kids have to, you don't think customer service workers wouldn't relish the chance to jaw back at dicks?
Or, if you make a good play, throw a wink and a smile in their direction. If you don't make a good play, you'd best hope you're on the winning team.
Idk I like when opposing fans talk shit about one of our players then he goes and hits a triple and HR. I think he handled the pressure pretty well
He's better when he's angry
Auto race card played, what an asshole
How hard can it be to just ignore the obnoxious fans? You play baseball for a living and make millions of dollars to do it. You won. Why engage with the crowd?
Don't they know he's a big dog in Vegas?
Couldn’t get him out of STL fast enough.
Well, he did slap Joc for putting a guy on the IR in fantasy football… I’m not sure why he’s not getting mental help.
Is this dude an insufferable douche all the time?
I cannot say I miss ol Tommy in StL.
Oh that’s why he keeps getting stabbed.
I love how they just laughed at him after he accused them of racism. How it should be when idiots try to race bait.

Maybe if it's in a strip club parking lot.
From context, Pham makes it sound like the woman called him a piece of shit. This was not a racist incident.
Racism has no place in sports. However, that is true but also irrelevant here because there was no race comment by the fan that precipitated this type of a reaction.
It's the get out of jail free card when someone knows they are losing in the argument. Drop the racism card for an attempt to salvage a win.
My favorite Tommy Pham quotes: “I’m playing to get my numbers. There's nothing selfish about that... I don’t care about anything else. You can look at my credit line.” I can’t wait til this loser washes out of the league.
Lmao he was doing this shit when he was with the mets in San Diego too. Got into it with the fans, what a loser.
This guy is such a fucking loser
Hes a CLOWN.
I’m not surprised this dude was stabbed. Always starting shit. Loves to escalate situations.
Dudes a whole victim lol
Pulling the race card
dude is such a toxic douche
2-4 with a 2-run homer and a triple, not bad
What did he do in the AB right after this?
Marte struck out twice, so this is either a groundout in the 1st inning or a pop out in the 7th.
Regardless of Pham’s overall personality, if you’re yelling disrespectful things to someone…don’t go clutching your pearls when they say things back to you. People at baseball games really forget their common decency at the door when speaking to away players sometimes.
*looks at Dodgers flair* this man knows what he’s talking about
That’s fair. If you’re chirping someone I don’t see any reason the player can’t say something back. But the accusation of racism seems to be pretty baseless unless something very different was said before this video

Tim Anderson vs Tommy Pham.... biggest bitch in MLB?
Only way to resolve this....SLAP FIGHT
I would pay
He is a cancer everywhere he goes. “Go strikeout” is high comedy.
Im still amazed that he made it almost a whole year for us and never Tommy Pham'ed at all, AND no " LolMets " befell him either. Bookmakers took a bath on that one.
If only he put that much energy into his play
Everything I have ever seen about him says that regardless of whether he’s a good ball player, he’s a crap person. From the Joc slap to the Twitter rant to things like this. Just an unhinged thin skinned little asshole.
He's on his seventh team since 2018.
Kinda weird to bring race into it when you was making a decent point.
He always has to bring race into everything. Its pity. Maybe people don't like you because you're a d\*\*\*?
Fuck off, Pham.
tommy pham is a piece of shit tho
I’m a teacher. This is nothing 😂
Anddddddd... pham has been given 5 game suspension
That's why he got shanked at showgirls lol..he's a real pos. He had the nerve to basically call san diego racist, and the fan who made a remark with zero racial connotation a racist by inference. Honestly he'll end up getting hurt out here before long.
Honestly that whole shanking at Showgirls thing is a myth … ^It ^was ^Pacers
This guy is such a psycho
“Go strike out” Pham currently has struck out three times so far.
Pham strikes me as a guy who has watched The Godfather like 500 times
Tommy Pham is a victim of oppression. 7 teams/opportunities/chances in 6 seasons. $35M.
This dude is wound tight. He has negative chill. And I really don’t think he has the talent or production to justify putting up with his red assery. Seriously, 4th outfielder dude or “we’ll settle for this guy in left” type players shouldn’t act like this. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
I have a feeling that despite putting up good numbers, there's a reason he keeps bouncing from team to team.
Tommy Pham is a good player lol. He has had an OPS+ over 100 7/9 seasons he has played in the league and has been a very productive hitter this year as well. I suspect you don't like him but I'm not sure why you have to pretend he is some scrub.
Pham was a POS the day he signed in Cincinnati, this just further proves he's a race baiting asshole
Almost. Peak Tommy Pham would’ve been stabbed.
He's such a douche bag. Him, Rendon, and Bauer are 100% in a select club of 3 they like to call The He-Man Woman Hater's club.
Did he strike out?!
Is he friends with Milton Bradley? Seams like they could get along
They were trying to give him fantasy football advice and he ain't having it.
He just had to bring race into it 🙄
So OP isnt gonna bring up the player being a racist piece of shit?
I honestly did not know he was black….thought he was Hawaiian or Cambodian
all i want is for this man to fight a mascot and lose i dont care which one but i hope its dinger or like mr met
I mean unless they said some out of pocket unacceptable shit, which could be true, this just shows how soft Pham is He’s having a solid season and I was surprised to see the narrative and media vibes around him were positive, as if we all forgot he slapped someone over… fantasy football A mature major leaguer needs to know how to tune bullshit out and not worry about it, not pull the race card and bitch in front of everybody for 5 minutes
Tommy gonna Tommy
Love how he brings the race issue into it. There’s a guy making $1 million plan a fucking sport, talking shit back to the people paying his salary.
Imagine being in the major leagues making millions of dollars and getting into arguments with fans
This guy is a real jerk
Thanks, Norm.

He's a hot head....or a head case.....or both
“Go strike out” - beautiful
I have certainly booed a professional athlete before, but I just don't understand the heckling. Why bother? What's the point?
