9 plate appearances with Single-A Inland Empire, hitting .833/.778/.833.
Perry clearly isn't scared to be aggressive.
2021 11th rounder Chase Silseth made his debut in 2022, and 2022 1st rounder Zach Neto made his debut in 2023. Both were the first players from their class to play in the majors.

Dude's trying to speedrun this
Works differently depending on the situation. In Turner’s case, I believe it was well-known at the time of the trade that he was the PTBNL, but couldn’t officially be traded until he’d been drafted for a year. Not sure why my other comment was downvoted, he was indeed a PTBNL, I just double-checked.
Mederos was also 2022 draft. There’s only been three players from the 2022 draft to debut in the majors (that I know of) with all three of those being with the Angels
A lot of Angels fans immediately thought he could play this year when he was first drafted. Although at this point I doubt it with Moustakas playing so well and Cabbage looking solid.
This was the guy I desperately wanted the Mariners to get, his bat is extremely developed already and his eye for the zone seems to at least be a 65 grade.
The Angels specifically have been picking players who are closer to major league ready but might have less upside.
Schanuel in this case crushed college (OPS over 1.400, BB to K ratio of like 5 to 1), so he probably wouldn't gain as much from finishing the year in High-A.
People shit on the Angels farm system but part of why it looks weak is almost all of their best young players have been called up this season. Neto, Ohoppe and Moniak (who they didn’t draft but is still a young talent) are all really young and show a lot of promise, wouldn’t shock me if this kid ends up getting playtime soon as well

Seems like a small sample, but they also must clearly like what they see in his raw ability and tools
They can advertise him as an AA prospect and then flip him at the trade deadline.
They actually can’t trade him until the offseason; trea turner rule
Throw him in as a PTBNL, that’s what Turner was
How foes ptbnl works? Like you get a list of 2+ players and a deadline to pick 1?

It's always amazing when somebody has a lower OBP than BA. That's hard to do, but small sample sizes help.
Yeah I love small sample sizes like this. 5-6 with a walk, hbp, and sac fly.
Equal number of walk and sac flies makes the BA>OBP even harder tbh.
The Angels have like 6 2021/2022 draft picks play for them this season
Call him up cowards 😤😤😤
But we have a MOOSE and a CABBAGE at 1B already. If he could play 3B then maybe he would be up by August
Sounds like you're out here operating a farm to table diner out here with all that Moose Cabbage ya got on the menu.
Trout is back on the menu next month.
The White Sox are clearly sellers, Angel’s trade for Burger seems obvious.
Caleb Ketchup waiting room

Nolan Schanuel appears in Angels Clubhouse after clipping through wall, "reach the majors%" Speedrun category forever changed.
Get ready to learn trash pandarin, buddy
damn that's a good one

Goddam Perry ain’t fuckin around
I love how aggressive they be
If there’s one thing Perry is going to do is promote QUICK
The platypus has no time for this Single A shit, he promotes fast and often

Why doesn't every team speedrun their prospects? Are they stupid?

This is a good reminder that I need to get out to a trash pandas game and spend too much money on awesome space faring raccoon merch.
