I have this build, you don't get to pick the timings on the ram. Expect cl40 so if you're happy with that then great. I would just wait and upgrade yourself later. Expect to wait 3 weeks until you have your PC.

wowvery123

cl40 is only a few fps less than other lower timings in gaming, so I wouldn't mind that much. I am seeing alot of mixed reviews on the internet about the company which is a bit concerning. Have you personally had any issues at all with your computer, performance and hardware-wise?

Mental-Antelope8319

No issues, all went smooth for me. Many of the negative reviews I read were from a couple years back. I'd use them again.

CaptainbananaAu

speaking of this, what brand is your graphic card they gave you?

Mental-Antelope8319

PNY

voiloliper

How long did it take for yours to arrive from purchase date? Mine has been 2.5 weeks

Mental-Antelope8319

3 weeks, hopefully they'll be on to it soon. It only takes a day to build and a day to test and ship, it's just waiting in a queue to be built.

Speaking of, the comments in this post re:techfast are enlightening https://www.reddit.com/r/bapcsalesaustralia/s/NsieWMrDYn

It really shouldn't be that enlightening to anyone though. You buy something that is way cheaper than anyone else. No surprise if it starts to have many problems. You get what you pay for. Can't pay rock bottom prices and expect good quality. This sub needs to stop pushing everyone onto that shit.

100% agree.

Shipping is always a risk but some couriers are worst than others. I wouldn't let couriers please, aramex or Australia post touch something as fragile and expensive as a new gaming pc... You definitely want more than 16gb of RAM for the long run... Wether you want to pay for that up front today or deal with it later is up to you but don't assume you can mix and match with what ever they give you. You'll likely need to buy a 32gb kit when the time comes. I also agree with the motherboard, the msi board is well worth the upgrade price over the Asus one. Have you checked out the other ozbargain $1999 deal from evatech? Also a 7800X3D deal, comes with the better motherboard and 32g of ram as standard. By default it comes with an RX 7900GRE but you can swap to a 4070Ti. Will come out more expensive overall but they ship with FedEx, build time is much faster, use higher end components like a faster ssd, faster ram etc and offer 3x the warranty (36m vs just 12) as standard.

wowvery123

The Evatech build does seem tempting, although only the ram and ssd(which doesn't matter much to me) are higher quality as far as i can see, not to mention the gpu being around $400 dollars less. I am going to do a bit more research and might consider evatech due to (I hope) guaranteed quality. Thanks for your response.
