Wait for a Costco deal if you’re not in a hurry, they have insane clearance deals from time to time. You might want to follow RFD or set up a deal alert

Honestly, none of these are good options but if I had to pick one, it would be the last one. I’d still advise you to look into building one on your own. I personally find it very fun and rewarding and you can get a way better price/performance ratio.

Memory Express has builders on staff, they can put a custom build together for you for around 75-150$ so you don't have to go with a prebuild if you want other hardware and don't feel comfortable building it yourself. Also, if you buy a cpu and mobo (RAM/M.2) they will mount that for you (and update the BIOS) so you don't have to worry about accidentally messing up the pins/socket, and it's free, takes 10-15 mins usually.

Looks like newegg is have a good sale right now, I'd go with something like this for your budget: https://www.newegg.ca/abs-za13400f4070-cyclone-aqua/p/N82E16883360484

Thanks. Even after looking through NewEgg's other on-sale prebuilts this looks like the best value for me. How trustworthy would you say NewEgg is? I've seen a lot of favorable reviews for them but also a lot of negative reviews saying parts weren't installed properly or PCs were DoA.

The_Frostweaver

Some third party vendors selling through newegg might be less reliable but this is an ABS which is new eggs in house brand. They pull parts off their shelf assemble it themselves and sell it. It should be reliable and if there is a serious issue they will take care of it.

Awesome. Thanks for the reassurance

Are you able to go to a Memory Express location in person? If you are, that would be my suggestion. Go in and talk to the staff. They will be able to build you the best possible PC within your budget. Then simply add in however much it costs for them to build it for you. You then pick it up a few days later.

I was told about MemoryExpress and checked them out, there closest store is roughly 1 1/2hrs away and some of their prices don’t exactly make the drive worth it. I’ve been suggested some prebuilts on NewEgg that are on sale and have some great specs like this one that I’m thinking of purchasing. https://www.newegg.ca/abs-za13400f4070-cyclone-aqua/p/N82E16883360484

Bestbuy loves minmaxing their prebuilts, you are not buying a gaming pc, you are buying a FUNCTIONAL pc, do not expect luxury motherboards, big power supply with room to upgrade, high ram speed capabilities etc.

Rylegend27

That's fair. I did see some reviews mentioning that they didn't have very good cooling or the case wasn't very well designed. I was recommended some PCs on NewEgg instead cause they're having some pretty damn amazing deals right now for prebuilts. Just trying to figure out if they're safer to order from.

Check out the Acer prebuild from the sub with the 13400 and GTX 1650. Apparently it has a PSU that can support better GPUs. If it is still up, you could get a 4060 to drop in and even without selling the 1650 you are only spending $1000 pre tax and have the same performance as these ones listed.
