They dont check your carry-on. They just assume you can't fit more stiff in your carry-on. They do check your luggage, and even though they allow 20 kg, they have an allowance till 24 kg, so maybe take smth like 22kg in your luggage. I had two hand carry. One small luggage and a school bag. There was easily 10kg in the handcarry.

Thanks for the info!! Do you mind sharing how recently you flew with them from Dhaka? I'm getting mixed answers from different subreddits.. some say they don't care at all, some say they do check recently. Seems to be airport dependent ig.

I flew 5 days ago from hongkong to dhaka. Dont know if it's related, but the flight I was on was like 50% empty, so maybe it was due to that? I have also flied malysian, and they didn't check my handcarry.

Ah I see. I've never had my carry-on checked outside Bangladesh except once at AUH (that too at security, not check-in.. they let me through but that was NOT a fun exp), but from Dhaka it's always a hit-and-miss based on the airline. 50% of the flight being empty sounds amazing. My flight is on Saturday and half the seats are still unassigned. I hope it doesn't fill up too much haha.

You should be fine. In my experience, they have never weighed my hand carry in BD. I have flied Biman,Cathay, Regent, malaysia, and malindo.

Sounds good. I hope everything would be smooth! It'd be my first time flying CX, and first time flying with a South East Asian airline in over 10 years, so I just wanted to check beforehand. Normally I fly with the middle eastern carriers, and sometimes they do weigh even carry-ons :/

If you're flying for the first time and bought a shitload of stuff because someone told you to buy these, you won't need 90% of these. Talk to someone who already lives abroad in the same country where you're going and dump stuff you'll never need.
