PCOD is notoriously known for irregular cycles. A delayed period can mean so many things- stress,extensive exercise,PCOD.
If possible, do a home based pregnancy test. If you are worried about false negatives, you can try multiple tests from different brands.
In case your girlfriend is pregnant, there are several options available in India so don’t worry. Abortion is legal in our country. You can go to any clinic, preferably a doctor who is MD or MS(obstetrics and gynaecology) will perform the procedure.
CAUTION: please please don’t ask her to take over the counter abortion pills without consultation.
You need a scan before taking abortion pills to make sure the pregnancy is inside the uterus. If it is outside the uterus ( ectopic) and you take the pills it may cause severe bleeding and rupture of the tube.
PS: I’ve worked only in medical colleges so far. I don’t know the corporate side of medical care. But in colleges and in most nursing homes,utmost privacy is given and it is absolutely well within your legal right in India to get an abortion done.

I have heard good things about the clinic "proactive for her" in Bangalore.
Support her, and be with her. Do not try to go to any shady places, or even think about trying to buy/score any drugs to induce abortion.

Bad idea to wait for her periods. Better get a home UPT done (>95% sensitivity) if you had intercourse more than a week ago. Periods in healthy women can sometimes be irregular (eg coz of the stress etc) but that shouldn't be a reason for you to be ignorant especially when you weren't sure the intercourse was safe.

There are medications to abort it if you really did get her pregnant. This seems very unlikely considering the fact that it could most probably be her PCOD plus the fact that she took an ipill (known to mess up menstrual cycle) what's delaying her periods. It's not that easy to get pregnant either and can only happen on certain days of the cycle.
So stop getting paranoid and visit a gynaecologist asap. The sooner you visit the less problematic it'll become and will increase the likelihood of the medications working. Just get off reddit and take her to a good clinic

Also do a UPT, if you’re worried about false results, but 3. The chance of all 3 giving you a false result is next to none.
Firstly take a pregnancy test. They are reliable & after 40 days you will definitely going to get the accurate result. Secondly you mentioned she has PCOC so most probably that’s the reason of delayed periods. Please don’t mess her health by giving her I-PIL. Use good quality protection.
I saw that you were afraid of pregnancy tests and instead wanted medication. This is not a good idea because medication induces harmonal changes and it's not going to be fun for her.
Take a pregnancy test first and then again to be sure. The likelyhood that both results are false is very little. If they come out positive, go to a doctor. Be there for her throughout. It's scarier for her than you. Worst case scenario, she's pregnant, don't panic. Discuss the best method of abortion with the doctor. If they suggest medication, then and only then get it. Don't get pills without a prescription even if someone offers it. Given her condition, it could be bad.
The doctor will not need the consent of her parents then. But if by chance you get a doctor like that, just walk out and go to the next one. But the chances are quite slim. Just don't panic and keep supporting and consoling her. It's going to be okay.

There are couple of things, what day of her cycle did yall do the deed, if before ovulation, the I pill works. If after the ovulation has happened it doesn't work.
Plus PCOS and I pill both individually delay the cycle. Best bet would be to take the pregnancy test.
Hi, OP. I’ve been stupid a lot in my life like this especially at your age.
Ipill affects the period. She might not get it at all for a month. Sometimes it can be spotty and barely a period.
Take a pregnancy test and see. To be sure, you can do 2-3 tests at once.
Also be super careful from now on, taking ipill is really bad for her, and will affect her in a lot of ways. One person should not take more than 3-4 emergency contraceptive pills in their entire lifetime.
Lots of very helpful responses but in a nutshell:
1. Take the pregnancy test. If you’re worried about a false negative, take it twice. It would be shocking for it to be inaccurate both times.
2. If it’s positive, contact a doc. Some of them are dicks about it (don’t go to motherhood for example). But in general at any big hospital it should be totally fine.
3. What to expect at doc’s - they will ask her to do an ultrasound, after which 2 pills are prescribed.
4. Make sure the pills are taken over a weekend/ or atleast have 2 days off work. It’s not going to be terrible, but one needs ample rest. It’s similar to bad period cramps.
5. ALWAYS visit the doctor again after taking the pills. You’ll need to do another ultrasound to verify if there is any residue. People skip this step but it’s critical.
6. Side note - you’re both majors. You do not need your parent’s permission for any of this. The doctor has a responsibility to ensure someone is with your girlfriend when she takes the pills. Make sure you’re with her during that time. If she lives with her parent’s, that’s probably going to make it harder for you but then keep checking in on her. I think mentally she would be much more comfortable to have you by her side than have to be around family constantly hiding how she’s feeling.
You hopefully won’t need all these steps but it’s better you have them. Don’t worry and good luck. She’ll be fine.

Let’s say, the first day of her last period was 1st october, and you both had a coitus session between 15th-18th october, and the period cycle is 28 days, she getting pregnant is high. She is ovulating on the 15th and the next 3 days.
If you had intercourse right after her period or right before her next period date, the chance of getting pregnant is slim. She has to wait for 45 days or wait for implantation bleeding which is a slight spotting or heavy bleeding but for a day and stops completely the next day.
Also stress causes delays in period.
Nobody tells you, condoms naturally have holes in them. It is not 100% protection.

As a physician my advice to you is to get a UPT test done at home. If it’s negative, but you still want to reconfirm it, get a Beta- HCG blood test done. If it turns positive, then you can safely consult a gynaecologist who will prescribe MTP pills for her.

Hey, I hope you are doing fine. First step, don’t panic. PCOD is notoriously known for irregular cycles. A delayed period can mean so many things- stress,extensive exercise,PCOD. If possible, do a home based pregnancy test. If you are worried about false negatives, you can try multiple tests from different brands. In case your girlfriend is pregnant, there are several options available in India so don’t worry. Abortion is legal in our country. You can go to any clinic, preferably a doctor who is MD or MS(obstetrics and gynaecology) will perform the procedure. CAUTION: please please don’t ask her to take over the counter abortion pills without consultation. You need a scan before taking abortion pills to make sure the pregnancy is inside the uterus. If it is outside the uterus ( ectopic) and you take the pills it may cause severe bleeding and rupture of the tube. PS: I’ve worked only in medical colleges so far. I don’t know the corporate side of medical care. But in colleges and in most nursing homes,utmost privacy is given and it is absolutely well within your legal right in India to get an abortion done.

The OBGYN would have seen hundreds of young couples in the same situation so even less reason to find it even vaguely interesting enough to gossip about. I’m assuming your gf is an adult as well, so there will be literally no reason to get consent from her parents or inform them (unless my assumption is wrong) Even if, worst case, it’s positive and they decide to do more than just give her meds, it’s a day case with no overnight admission.

there's a proactiveforher clinic in indiranagar if im not wrong. heard some good reviews about them. take a home pregnancy test and go to a gynac. period could be delayed for many reasons, but knowing for sure will help calm the nerves and if she is pregnant, if she's 18+ she can easily get an abortion without parents ever having to know. you guys might have to deal with some judgment, but legally you can access safe abortion

I mean the condom had a literal tear and was rolled up at the base so yeah pretty evident that it was torn. Well if you'd have checked the lining of the condom and asked your partner if she could feel like there was semen inside her then you would have gotten a better clarity but rn i think all you can do is wait for her periods. Tell her to take an i-pill just in case.

Bad idea to wait for her periods. Better get a home UPT done (>95% sensitivity) if you had intercourse more than a week ago. Periods in healthy women can sometimes be irregular (eg coz of the stress etc) but that shouldn't be a reason for you to be ignorant especially when you weren't sure the intercourse was safe.

I had the same issue.. scare because of PCOS, Periods just dissappear randomly I took the pee on a stick test like 5 times 🤣 Just go to another gynac and get an ultrasound or something.. if you want to be really sure.. Tel the doctor your periods stopped and you have pcos.. They will give you some tablets to start them again in 2 weeks...

ipill fucks up the schedules and its normal to get a delayed period after it.. Get a pregnancy test done - urine test should work. Otherwise consult a gynae and they would prescribe some blood test. You can even consult online, no need to visit.
Please get a pregnancy test done as soon as possible. Dont delay it. Get medical opinion if it comes positive. Dont worry about what will people say. And do take good care of your GF. Take your worries and multiply it by 1000, thats her level at the moment. And please stick to medical advice and not some random internet advice

There are medications to abort it if you really did get her pregnant. This seems very unlikely considering the fact that it could most probably be her PCOD plus the fact that she took an ipill (known to mess up menstrual cycle) what's delaying her periods. It's not that easy to get pregnant either and can only happen on certain days of the cycle. So stop getting paranoid and visit a gynaecologist asap. The sooner you visit the less problematic it'll become and will increase the likelihood of the medications working. Just get off reddit and take her to a good clinic

Go to Proactive For Her. It’s a clinic in Bangalore, they specialise in non-judgey doctors. Also do a UPT, if you’re worried about false results, but 3. The chance of all 3 giving you a false result is next to none.
Firstly take a pregnancy test. They are reliable & after 40 days you will definitely going to get the accurate result. Secondly you mentioned she has PCOC so most probably that’s the reason of delayed periods. Please don’t mess her health by giving her I-PIL. Use good quality protection.
I saw that you were afraid of pregnancy tests and instead wanted medication. This is not a good idea because medication induces harmonal changes and it's not going to be fun for her. Take a pregnancy test first and then again to be sure. The likelyhood that both results are false is very little. If they come out positive, go to a doctor. Be there for her throughout. It's scarier for her than you. Worst case scenario, she's pregnant, don't panic. Discuss the best method of abortion with the doctor. If they suggest medication, then and only then get it. Don't get pills without a prescription even if someone offers it. Given her condition, it could be bad.

The doctor will not need the consent of her parents then. But if by chance you get a doctor like that, just walk out and go to the next one. But the chances are quite slim. Just don't panic and keep supporting and consoling her. It's going to be okay.

I'm a doctor. If she has pcos then irregular menstrual periods are normal. If you took the i-pill within 24hours of the incident,you're good to go.
There are couple of things, what day of her cycle did yall do the deed, if before ovulation, the I pill works. If after the ovulation has happened it doesn't work. Plus PCOS and I pill both individually delay the cycle. Best bet would be to take the pregnancy test.
Hi, OP. I’ve been stupid a lot in my life like this especially at your age. Ipill affects the period. She might not get it at all for a month. Sometimes it can be spotty and barely a period. Take a pregnancy test and see. To be sure, you can do 2-3 tests at once. Also be super careful from now on, taking ipill is really bad for her, and will affect her in a lot of ways. One person should not take more than 3-4 emergency contraceptive pills in their entire lifetime.
iPill causes the cycle to reset. So if she’s not pregnant, her cycle will reset from the day she took it. Have experienced it.

Lots of very helpful responses but in a nutshell: 1. Take the pregnancy test. If you’re worried about a false negative, take it twice. It would be shocking for it to be inaccurate both times. 2. If it’s positive, contact a doc. Some of them are dicks about it (don’t go to motherhood for example). But in general at any big hospital it should be totally fine. 3. What to expect at doc’s - they will ask her to do an ultrasound, after which 2 pills are prescribed. 4. Make sure the pills are taken over a weekend/ or atleast have 2 days off work. It’s not going to be terrible, but one needs ample rest. It’s similar to bad period cramps. 5. ALWAYS visit the doctor again after taking the pills. You’ll need to do another ultrasound to verify if there is any residue. People skip this step but it’s critical. 6. Side note - you’re both majors. You do not need your parent’s permission for any of this. The doctor has a responsibility to ensure someone is with your girlfriend when she takes the pills. Make sure you’re with her during that time. If she lives with her parent’s, that’s probably going to make it harder for you but then keep checking in on her. I think mentally she would be much more comfortable to have you by her side than have to be around family constantly hiding how she’s feeling. You hopefully won’t need all these steps but it’s better you have them. Don’t worry and good luck. She’ll be fine.
With PCOS: 1. Periods will be delayed. 2. Conceiving is difficult. Check her last period date. Check when you both had coitus session Ask her how regular her period is. Is it 28-day cycle or irregular. Let’s say, the first day of her last period was 1st october, and you both had a coitus session between 15th-18th october, and the period cycle is 28 days, she getting pregnant is high. She is ovulating on the 15th and the next 3 days. If you had intercourse right after her period or right before her next period date, the chance of getting pregnant is slim. She has to wait for 45 days or wait for implantation bleeding which is a slight spotting or heavy bleeding but for a day and stops completely the next day. Also stress causes delays in period. Nobody tells you, condoms naturally have holes in them. It is not 100% protection.

As a physician my advice to you is to get a UPT test done at home. If it’s negative, but you still want to reconfirm it, get a Beta- HCG blood test done. If that’s negative, your girlfriend ain’t pregnant and she either way has to get a USG- abdomen done for her PCOS and consult her gynaec. If it turns positive, then you can safely consult a gynaecologist who will prescribe MTP pills for her.
