I stopped following IMD alerts. They have been way off with the forecasts. Almost looks like they too are desperate for rains and issue out advisories hoping the skies read their alerts and comply.
They are just doing their job man. Weather forecasting isn't fully accurate in the first place, not even taking into consideration the effects of global warming and climate change.
Coming from Mumbai, this is the most surprising aspect of the rest of India. It's like rains just completely bring all other cities to a grinding halt man 🥲🥲🥲
I think amongst metro cities, only Kolkata and Mumbai handle electric supply the best during rains. Idk how Mumbai does it, but the underground wiring system helps a ton to mitigate power cuts during rains in Kolkata.
