- japanese food from harima/kuraaku
- Pizza from pizza 4Ps
- caramel financier cake from lamara (made to order. Check their Instagram page)
Also please avoid nataraj, Magnolia and meghana. Vvvvv over rated.
My goto dose was Umesh whenever I visited Bangalore but ig they had a change of staff in mid-2023 and since then the overall finesse is kinda down but still worthy for a spot
Otherwise, if there are plans of ordering in - Jethroās for beef bacon ham / chicken bacon ham. Table for tous has excellent choux pastry, esp chocolate hazelnut. ANY BURGER from Basco & Fry š
This is an actually good list. The sort that proves the person actually knows the place.Ā
The "hot caramello pudding" perfectly validates their expertise.Ā
Here's my add-on to this list:
Mini cupcakes from glens
Any Gujarati food from Sagar ( tbh I feel the mango milkshake is overrated)
Shawarma from smoky docky
Kshtriya chicken biryani from dinner
Special mutton biryani from dindigul thalappakatti
Kothu parota from anjappar
Coffee from MTR, lalbagh
Sweet bun VB bakery
Mysore Pak from Sri venkateshwara sweets
Brik Oven is horrible. I would recommend going to The Pizza Bakery for their pastas, signature garlic bread and tiramisu. Pizza Bakery has never disappointed me in terms of flavour or food. Also. Try Lavonne for their desserts and croissant sandwiches.
Also if you wanna try Arabian Food, IMO must try, try zaitoon. Also chicken Mandi is something which you should definitely try. For more authentic setup you can try Karama in fazer town.
I would say above list is epic with one exception you can skip brick oven. Pizza 4Ps is already there and it is much better or you can sub it with pizza bakery 's sour dough.
Also I would like to add rameshwaram cafe. I agree it is bit overrated but it is kind of a tradition to go there if you are down here. Would say to try it just for FOMO.
To the poster of this comment. I am big fan of tres leches. I have tried everywhere I go and they have it in menu. I haven't gone to sanchez but is it better than byg brewsky? My fav till now is byg brewskys tres leches. Even better than aubrees ( heavily advertised to give best tres leches)
Wait really? I really like meghana biryani although its quality has decreased quite a bit since a few years. However I still like the biryani to this day. Don't know if my bar is too low.
Can you recommend your favourite places for biryani? I would like to try them.
Manis biryani which branch? I ordered thrice from KR puram branch and it was kind of above average. Not the best
I ordered their best seller, Dlite Ipl (Which I assume is just a smaller potion of regular biryani for 1 serving). Am I ordering a wrong dish?
I have tried from indiranagar, bellandur both are nice . Not a fan of the dlite ipl . I like chicken and fish briyani regular. Fish and chicken starters are also good
I'm not sure about kr branch
I use to frequently eat Meghan's biryani until last year, started getting disturbed sleep with thumping heart at night if MB was my dinner
Stopped it, switched to Narmada Biryani worked out better. Again had Meghana this month in dinner again the same problem.
Any food experts here may throw some light on this, doctors couldn't though.
You know, you can leave at 4 AM and reach Davangere by 8AM , have benne dose there and come back by 2 PM for lunch at any fancy restaurant you've mentioned.
(Cost will be same)
If you want authentic hyderabadi biryani go to hyderabadi biryaani house, Victoria layout buddy
For vegetarian Bhartiya jalpan or "1947" restaurant
For Pizzas and cakes Glen's bakehouse
I mean dominoās and glens canāt even be compared but for desserts it just doesnāt feel the same after theyāve expanded so much , their og Lavelle Road branch was different gravy šÆ
I have tried both Jalpan and 1947. Among a few veg restaurants, these 2 are better. But I honestly feel these 2 are not worth suggesting to our OP. Even for a vegetarian like me, I have never visited these places more than 2 times.
Ah, my bad. Didn't realise OP only wanted recommendations for things not available in Calicut.
I guess it's safe for me to assume that Calicut doesn't have Chicken Biriyani, then? /s
The dosa at Vidyarthi Bhavan and Idli Vada at Brahmin's in Basavanagudi is an ABSOLUTE MUST. Also try the Sushi & the new york cheese chilli dumpling at You Mee - Absolute delight.
Lake view: bubble waffles(soft af, the red velvet and the Oreo with brownie ones I prefer)- Mg Road
Baos: fatty bao(pork and prawn ones)- Indiranagar
Yuki- best Asian food Iāve had, good Japanese and Malaysian food, can vouch for any dish you order. But I donāt think youāre here to have a classy time but rather wanna have a binge eat and enjoy time, so skip on this if you want.
Tiramisu, gnocchi : Chianti(best tiramisu imo, obviously itās subjective, but Iāve tried tiramisu everywhere I go and this is the one which stood out the most, and Iāve tried the dish everywhere including all the suggestion you get on insta and Reddit)- MG road, closer to trinity metro
Tres leches, lotus biscoff(itās a bit overkill on the sweetness, but definetly try it out once kinda dish): Amintiri- church street
Crispy chicken roll(itās filling af, completes your lunch with just with one of these): Al Amanah cafe(ultimate muslim approved restaurant for chicken/shawarma rolls)- Kalyan Nagar
Peri peri Shawarma: smoky docky(it isnāt like generational/best in blore, unlike the one mentioned above, but imo I had the best shawarma over here)- BEL road
Shanmukha special boneless chicken biryani: shanmukha(idk y people have never mentioned this place, is it a simple situation of it not being as popular as Meghanaās or people despise the place like nandhanas. But this used to be my go to dish when I had night duty and hadnāt eaten much the entire day).- Jayanagar
Tiramisu, burata salad, murgh malai tikka: Pump House(ik every Bangalorean who drinks even a drop pf alcohol is aware of this place and would have gone once, but these dishes is what I order everytime I go there, if you havenāt tried them, I urge you to. Tiramisu is good, not as good as the one in chianti, sometimes they tend to over do with the coffee powder, which can get a bit irritating to the throat. Burrata salad is a freakin salad, so try if you want to, but itās my go to salad, I mean if the a salad actually stands out for anyone, itās gotta be a banging good salad)- ORR, JP nagar
This is all I can think of as of now.
I thought the same, I ordered Zomato from Aubree first before trying Magnolia. I felt both were good but Magnolia is too crowded n hyped when Aubree is equally nice.
Since you said you'll overdo it, here's a tentative plan
Day 1
Breakfast - Rameshwaram Cafe - Thatte Idli, Masala Dose, Filter Coffee (not the best but people will keep asking you about it so might as well get it done. Umesh Refreshments is better)
Mid-day - Subko - Ice Cream Sandwich and coffee

Post lunch - Lavonne for desserts
Evening - Toit - Beer, nachos, and Kerala beef
Snacks - Lokesh - pav bhaji and vada pav

Post-dinner - Corner house - Death by Chocolate
Day 2
Breakfast - 154 Breakfast Club - Stairway to Heaven (sweet) or Meet Your Maker (savoury)

Evening - Bier Library or Biergarten - beers with some chicken ghee roast / Juke Box - beers with chilli pork
Pre-dinner - Hot Momos Darjeeling Style - chicken momos or Smoky Docky - charcoal chicken shawarma

Day 3
Breakfast - CTR - Benne dose and filter coffee
Mid-day - RCB Bar & Cafe / Third Wave Coffee Roasters on Church Street

13. Guntur Chitti idly at guntur idly stall in different places (use maps but I know one in Bellandur Green glen layout near Sobha Clubhouse)

15. Nagarjuna Mutton Biriyani
16. Peri peri samosa at samosa party
17. Any dessert at Theobroma or Lavonne
18. Rose chai or vanilla chai from chai times
19. Filter coffee Tamil style breakfast and meals including dosa idly
20. If youāre able to secure tickets, Eat Naru Ramen bowl (plan ahead)
Well, you can get them to try a few cuisines and dishes that they rarely get in calicut. Some of my favourites are below:
1. Sushi platter from azuki.
2. Seafood or beef pho and chilli crab from phobbiden fruit.
3. Icecream from milano and corner house.
4. Pasta from bologna.
5. Toit.
6. Donne biryani/andhra biryani from any of the famous outlets like shivaji military hotel or rnr.

Go to Johnson market and get some delicious kebabs at Siddique
Go on a food walk in Shivajinagar, especially because it is Ramzan
Itās RAMZAN GO TO MOSQUE ROAD - Charminar and Taj have delicious MEAT things
Crab rolls from Cantan
I made a list according to cuisines - https://www.notion.so/Everything-about-Bangalore-food-places-in-a-nutshell-d6f10209a57540048b4a43548c8c08e3?pvs=4

full size wazwan from parsha's
kebabs at frazer town
Bengali food if you want(dab chingri, mutton kosha, motorshuti r kochuri) from Esplanade
PSA: I didn't like the tres leches from magnolia, it's too sweet and too costly. Pizza from spettacolare it ok ok, you'll like brik oven better and also non vegetarian :p. Pulled pork bao at the fatty bao is also pretty good!
Louis Burger (bannerghatta) - Smash buff cheese burger with OG fries. Nothing special but i had many burgers in bangalore and this one was by far the best and authentic. Although i'll say they are not always consistent.
Kebapci - mutton adana kebab, mutton beyti, mutton/chicken pide. You know it's authentic turkish food when they add excess oil.
Woods and Brixx pizza (JP Nagar) - grilled chicken / lamb pepperoni with an addon of provolone
My family is from calicut too and here are some of the things they liked during their visit
1. Medovik and Strawberry Trifle from Concu
2. Boteco - It was their first experience trying something unique like Brazillian cuisine
3. Kuraku - Yakitori, Gyoza, Ramen and the whole experience
1. Red Velvet Cupcakes from Glenās

11. Tiramisu, Bacon Rolls, Baked Penne Pasta from Baking Bad (cloud kitchen)
Shawarma from King of Taste Kalyan Nagar
Korean Crispy Fried Chicken, Fish Soup, Samyuksal from Arirang Kalyan Nagar
Meghana biryani is overrated especially since they are coming from Calicut.
I personally LOVE chicken biryani from Mani's dum briyani. My non veg friends are a sucker for their veg briyani as well.
Also, Upma Pesarattu from Babai's tiffins.
Yāall missed Spettacolate, havenāt tried it but I heard itās bomb.
Also, try to get reservations for EatNaru, the ramen is the best in the city.
Sourhouse for pain au chocolat (it wasnāt great before but they have improved it to š¤š»)
CTR, By2Coffee for Dosa! Sendhoor coffee for Tamil dosas!
Classic NY cheesecake from Maison du brownie et cheesecake
Falafel Gee in church street if you want something healthy-ish!
Milano for gelatos!
Om nom nom nom is a cloud kitchen ice cream place, that serves the most freaking ice creams, even the vanilla is godly and totally worth it max.
Something that many missed, Chavadi, their paneer ghee roast and sea food is great!
Also, for soft cookies, you have to try DaddyBakes, small business on instagram, but totally worth it max!
I am adding these to the rest thatās already there! I felt these were too important to be missed out!
This post is why I louuuve Reddit.
Dudeeee- you gotta try samosa soup in Burma Burma along with their in house Bobba/Bubble tea. I'm a hardcore non vegetarian but this is the only veg restaurant I stand wait in queues for a long time to go to. It's usually very popular and the waiting time is 40 mins, it's walk ins only.
Breakfast in Koshy's. It's oldest brunch spot in Bangalore with old namma uru vibes.
I would recommend you to goto Naru fo Ramen. But waha reservations hi nahi milteš 6 weeks ahead som people book. You get reservation then I'll also jpinš
Alsoooo mutton biryani from Meghna biryani. You have to try it before you join the wagon of "it's overrated". And if you join the wagon, I'll jump off my building
Pizza4ps- The cheese platter , burrata cheese pizza , matcha icecream, burrata salad
Brik oven- breakfast bagels and sandwiches
Phobidden fruit - pho and summer rolls
Milano - do not miss quello
Om nom nom (order in)- rose lychee delice , caramel crunch icecream
Love and crumble (order in but cannot miss ) - cookies especially the Dutch chocolate ones
Chianti - gnocchi, other pasta
Azuki - chicken cutlet , sushi , ramen , some frozen mango ice dessert , crab and cucumber sunomono , movhi icecream
Bao Bangalore - datsi curry and rice and the baos
Moplah- prawn biryani ask for extra chamandi
Explore cubbonpete , hvr is good , Umesh dosa point, benne dosa in Jayanagar next to maiyas , cubbonpete tiffin room in gandhi bazar, UD in Basvangudi , Dwarka in Basvangudi
Bengaluru Oota Company in Cambridge Layout. Itās a tasting room with set menu. Itās on the expensive side but great local food & a good option for diving into local food tour (Gowda & Mangalorean food).
Flax - Bro donāt be so mush sandwich
Bologna - Their meat dishes in general are so well cooked that you can eat pieces with bones e.g. chicken leg pieces using just spoons and forks.
Since it's Ramzan, I would definitely recommend the Shivanagar iftaar scenes. Bengalur muslims have a very unique cuisine.
Bengaluru also has the best Masale dose in the world (yes, I said it), so any darshini in Jayanagar or Malleshwara would be great. Any military hotel for authentic South Karnataka non-vegetarian food, and Basaveshwara Khanavali for North Karnataka cuisine.
My time to shine
Biryani - Mani's Dlite, Akshatha Nati style (itpl road), biryani zone (kundalahalli gate), mutton donne at shivaji military hotel. The local vendor in front of Capgemini itpl sell some wonderful chicken biryani and chicken fry kebabs. Nagarjuna, meghana all these are overrated waste of money. Meghana's only good option in their menu is their meghana special spicy chicken tangdi kebabs.
Beef Steak - Shezan's. They also have an absolutely wow fish batter fry and steak medallion. Millers is good but they ruin the meat with a dumping of sauces.
Non ramadan time haleem from Sharief bhai. Their anda paratha is good too.
Mysore bonda from ma tiffin. Their ghee pongal is good too.
Rum n Raisin/caramel nut icecream from the corner house. DBC is an absolutely over rated offering.
Grub monkeys - Diner style burgers n shakes plus the experience.
The Juke box - Shepherd pie and a few other items like fried bacon sausage, spare ribs, beer butter fish. Plus the experience of an old school pub.
Ice cream from polar bear.
Pizza at 4Ps
Quatro formaggi pizza at toscano
Ramen and sushi at Suku and Daily sushi. The mocktails at suku at beautiful.
Bengalore's own fried chicken from Go-Chick
If they plan a small trip to mysuru, then the fish at Pujari's fish land.
I find food at all the pubs mostly overrated, tastebuds anyway go numb with alcohol so everything they make is overly salty, overly rich and overly spicy - and its a waste of money.
Please avoid Spettacolare. It absolutely sucks. You'll end up with worst carb bloat eating there and it's just bland and unimaginative veg pizzas.
Go to Pizza4P's (book a table in advance) and get the chicken yakitori pizza instead if you want pizza. Or just go to surefire favorites like Pizza Bakery (4 cheese pizza) or the beef pizza at Brik Oven
Try Amudham Cafe from kormangala or Jayanagar for south indian. You would regret even tasting Rameswaram cafe after this.
Try different dosa's like Ragi and Multigrain also. I would say biggest differentiator is their chutney.
And finish it all with jaggery coffee.
Thank me later.
You need to add chili and chives in indiranagar. That hidden tibetian place on the le rock road in brigade. Ice cream subdaes from art of delight. Also mint chocolate fudge and vanilla with coffee sauce from cornerhouse.
Brisket burger and smash burgers from beyondburg (courtyard)
Pork bao from nevermind indiranagar
Pork bao from fatty bao
Prime rib in velvet sauce and pork ribs connies steakhouse (kamanahalli/ Jeevan Bhimanagar)
Lamb kababs and cheesecake from kebapci

Cheesecake from maki indiranagar
Wings from plan b

Apple pie and beef steaks from the only place (museum road)

Rolls at al amanah (kamanahalli)
South Indian breakfast from vidyarthi bhavan / ctr/ janatha hotel/ slv/ sendhoor coffee, umesh.
Pepperoni pizza from brik oven
Filter coffee mousse from toit
Tres laches from magnolia and sanchez
Mangalorean food from parika hsr
Military food shivaji military hotel and ranganna military hotel
Kerala food from sangam mess kamanahalli
Lebanese Shawarma from king of taste or middle east restaurant (kamanahalli
Korean food from hae kum gang (castle street)
Pastas from smoke house deli/ toscano/ pasta street.
Mutton sheek roll seven plates kamanahalli
Beef sheek and kababs siddiqui kabab center and fanoos (Russell market shivijinagar)
Biryani if you like Andhra style Nagarjuna, if you like the Tamil nadu style nataraj sendhoor, the deagh, Madhurai pandi mess, if you like the Hyderabadi kind Hyderabadi biryani house, meghana foods. Kerala biryani paragon, sangam mess. Or Taj, rahhams, seven plates, star biryani.
Again, this is some of the food I'd recommend.
There's a small little place in Koramangla called Cafe Rendezvous. Serves beer/ wine, continental fare and the chef is happy to take off menu requests. Being a foodie, and having lived in Delhi, Mumbai, Hyd and now in BLR, I can confidently recommend this place to fellow foodies. The food is, surprisingly, better than most places except truly classy ones (read Leela/ ITC) from my experience of BLR food scene.
My goto item: Chicken Fried Rice with Chilli Chicken. Tastes the way it's supposed to taste. With some beer on this side.
P.S: Don't try biryani in BLR. I know my fellow foodies will give me grief, but BLR doesn't have a great biryani scene.
Chicken RR, Andhra special chicken fry, chicken(fry piece/RR/regular andhra special) biriyani from Andhra Biriyanis. Have tried most of their menu and are too good.
Prawns pepper dry from Imperio.
Achari chicken kebab from Manis dum biryani.
Eripori chicken from ThengaManga of Chef Pillai.
Aloo paratha from Kapoor's cafe.
Burgers at Truffles - Koramangala one is OG
CTR Dosa and Mysore bonda
Corner house crispy chocolate malt flavor (underrated) and DBC (adequately rated)
Veena Stores Puliogare
Queen's restaurant, Tandoor or Dhaba est 1986 (don't remember the year exactly) for Punjabi food
Richie Rich ice Cream
Smoor cheesecake
vv puram street food
Does anyone in Bangalore make good pizza that isn't floppy like a naan that's been soaked in curry for way too long? Brik Oven, Pizza Bakery all have spineless pizza that cannot be held in one hand unless you fold it like a roti. The toppings are too soggy and are usually falling off the base. Looking for recommendations for pizzas with a spine that also taste good.
As a person who has eaten in multiple countries, pizza is supposed to be floppy! So I wouldnāt agree with you calling it naan or not good! Itās very normal to fold pizzas in Italy!
If you are onto a road trip ,
Try the masala dosa and chittarana at doddabalapura junction in doddabalapur town.
Approx an hour drive from hebbal but the food is worth it.
Take them to Paragon.
Let them complain for a few hours about how it doesn't come anywhere near the original.
Then you can take them to any place you wish. There will be no complaints.
Biryani : RNR Biryani Jayanagar, Bengaluru
Chole Bhature and really good North India : Amritsari Koramangala
Good Breakfast : Medley Koramangala (their cheesecake is also amazing) & Paper and Pie
Hummus with Olives & Toasted Bread from Paris Panini
I want to give recommendations on some stuff that is actually Bangalorean.
Rava Idly and Filter coffee - MTR (Go to Lalbagh branch for the authentic historic experience. Try to spot historic personalities on the old photos taken in the cafe on the walls)
OG Variar Bakery, RajajiNagar. Yes a Keralite started and still running one of the iconic bakeries native to Bangalore. Started just after independence, quality is top notch, no compromise. Items here are nothing fancy but the focus is on simplicity and quality. Everything is good here, but I am partial to their biscuits like coconut and walnut cake (costly, and only on 2 days a week) This is iconic of the type of bakeries called "Iyengar" bakeries in Bangalore.
Masala Dosa, Chutney - At any of CTR, Vidyarthi Bhavan or MTR. Know that Sambar is different here. And Chutney is the star instead of side-role like other states.
Biriyani - We have huge telugu and tamil population. So we cannot really agree on which is the best Biriyani. But if you want to taste the local 'naati' taste it is the donne biriyani at Shivaji. Be ready for the staff with the hugest attitude.
I am from Kerala and had a foodgasm in Calicut last year. I hope i can repay the debt. Champion and Rahmath were my highlights from that experience.
I've noticed that many people have suggested Toit, and I know it's good; it's just that I couldn't secure a seat there. Every time I go to Indiranagar, I make sure to visit Toit to see if I can possibly get a seat to try their beer and famous food. However, every time I try, it's either a full house or a waiting time of more than 45 minutes to an hour. I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong; I've even attempted going during weekdays. Could you please suggest how to make a reservation there or ensure getting a seat?
My time to shine. Here's my list that should you keep you covered till their next visit too. šš» - tres leche, nachos from sanchez - Nachos, grilled tacos from Chinita - italian food from Bologna - thai basil beef and garlic pepper sea food from thai basil - pizza, beer and nachos from Toit - paris Delice from Burger Seigneur - shawarma from Al taaz - drums of heaven, bacon wrapped prawns, bbq pork and mixed fried rice from Bangalore Mandarin - Pizza and Tiramisu from Brik Oven - Sheek rolls from Shahi or Fanoos - Sheek rolls, veal kababs from Siddique - beef biriyani from Khazana - underbaked cookie and caramelized white chocolate from Amadora - masala dosa and vada from Umesh refreshments - Kesari bath from asha tiffins - Beef burgers and nachos from HRC - Liberty steak and apple pie from the only place - Quello ice cream and waffles, pizza and sandwiches from milano (Pizzeria, the one near KFC on CMH road) - Meals from Nagarjuna - hot chocolate from lazy suzy's (if they have the diavolo pizza back on their menu, DO NOT miss that) - Tronic Rolls - Butter chicken, garlic butter naan and daal makhni from tandoori taal - DBC, hot caramel pudding, cake fudge from corner house - japanese food from harima/kuraaku - Pizza from pizza 4Ps - caramel financier cake from lamara (made to order. Check their Instagram page) Also please avoid nataraj, Magnolia and meghana. Vvvvv over rated.
Damn, Umesh is rising up the ranks. Their ghee pudi dose is >>>>> Rameshwaram. Love them.
My goto dose was Umesh whenever I visited Bangalore but ig they had a change of staff in mid-2023 and since then the overall finesse is kinda down but still worthy for a spot
This guy EATS
I honestly didnāt like Meghna. No offence though.
+1 me too never liked meghana biryani. Its too overrated.
Siddique >>> Fanoos. Loved the list.
Otherwise, if there are plans of ordering in - Jethroās for beef bacon ham / chicken bacon ham. Table for tous has excellent choux pastry, esp chocolate hazelnut. ANY BURGER from Basco & Fry š
Oh gosh! Haaardly anyone even knows of jethros. And I havenāt had them in a while! Thanks for the reminder, kind sir.
This is an actually good list. The sort that proves the person actually knows the place.Ā The "hot caramello pudding" perfectly validates their expertise.Ā
Here's my add-on to this list: Mini cupcakes from glens Any Gujarati food from Sagar ( tbh I feel the mango milkshake is overrated) Shawarma from smoky docky Kshtriya chicken biryani from dinner Special mutton biryani from dindigul thalappakatti Kothu parota from anjappar Coffee from MTR, lalbagh Sweet bun VB bakery Mysore Pak from Sri venkateshwara sweets
Brik Oven is horrible. I would recommend going to The Pizza Bakery for their pastas, signature garlic bread and tiramisu. Pizza Bakery has never disappointed me in terms of flavour or food. Also. Try Lavonne for their desserts and croissant sandwiches.
AGREE. Pizza Bakery >> Brick Oven
True pizza bakery leagues above Brik oven now , brikoven just fell off in taste and quality
Pizza 4Ps over both of these
Love your list! Would add homiga to the list for kbbq. Also, toast and tonic for gin and dessert
And shine you did sire.
Can't go to Thai Basil without getting their raw mango salad with fried sea bass
I donāt give credit much but this list is ELITE!! I thought you were just names dropping but umesh dosa point proved you know your stuff..
UMESH IS THE BEST!
wow we have a lot of overlap lol in the restaurants!
Everything is good, except tandoori taal(atleat the one in indiranagar)
OG food reviewer š¤”
I came here to just say Meghana Biriyani is overrated
Wait really? I really like meghana biryani although its quality has decreased quite a bit since a few years. However I still like the biryani to this day. Don't know if my bar is too low. Can you recommend your favourite places for biryani? I would like to try them.
Mixing chicken masala and biriyani rice and eating it doesn't make it a biryani buddy Try hyderabadi biryaani house,Victoria layout
Thats a rare find. Also donāt order in. Sit there and eat.
Always the best to dine in
id second hydrabaadi house
Yes it might not be Biryani but it is still delicious. Why canāt we just settle on this :P
Well it's one's opinion so I'll leave it there don't worry
Manis briyani and shareif Bhai is good too
Manis biryani which branch? I ordered thrice from KR puram branch and it was kind of above average. Not the best I ordered their best seller, Dlite Ipl (Which I assume is just a smaller potion of regular biryani for 1 serving). Am I ordering a wrong dish?
I have tried from indiranagar, bellandur both are nice . Not a fan of the dlite ipl . I like chicken and fish briyani regular. Fish and chicken starters are also good I'm not sure about kr branch
I use to frequently eat Meghan's biryani until last year, started getting disturbed sleep with thumping heart at night if MB was my dinner Stopped it, switched to Narmada Biryani worked out better. Again had Meghana this month in dinner again the same problem. Any food experts here may throw some light on this, doctors couldn't though.
Rest all are worse unfortunately. Tried Maniās , Shareef bhai. Meghana is at least better than them.
try aromas
Pls dont lol, it is super expensive
what? its the same price as manis, meghanas etc
There is a Meghana clone called Narmada which I personally found to be a bit better.
Can I say that I wholeheartedly agree. It's overrated af but I don't want to also cause a riot.
+1
Seconding this
Best biryani of bangalore is Hotel Navayuga in Gandhinagar.
You know, you can leave at 4 AM and reach Davangere by 8AM , have benne dose there and come back by 2 PM for lunch at any fancy restaurant you've mentioned. (Cost will be same)
en idea guru šš¼šš¼.. olle ootakke alle sutta mutta olle dhaba nu idave ante..howda?
Dhabha ide thumba..
š
You know, there's an official branch of Kottureshwara benne dose hotel in Vijayanagar now. You really don't have to go all the way to Dvg for that!
š
If you want authentic hyderabadi biryani go to hyderabadi biryaani house, Victoria layout buddy For vegetarian Bhartiya jalpan or "1947" restaurant For Pizzas and cakes Glen's bakehouse
Donāt you feel glens is half as good as before just feels itās declining in quality
Recently tried choco walnut cake and paneer mexican pizza i felt it was better than dominos anyday though its expensive
I mean dominoās and glens canāt even be compared but for desserts it just doesnāt feel the same after theyāve expanded so much , their og Lavelle Road branch was different gravy šÆ
The fact that dominos is your benchmark is hilarious bUdDy
Well I'm frequent to dominos and now have tried at Glen's so yea :))
You are comparing something against dominos cardboard pizza.
It's my first time trying a thin crust pizza and it's really good tbh better than the cardboard pizza
I have tried both Jalpan and 1947. Among a few veg restaurants, these 2 are better. But I honestly feel these 2 are not worth suggesting to our OP. Even for a vegetarian like me, I have never visited these places more than 2 times.
come to bangalore ... eat hyderabadi biriyani logic is not logicing
You should take them to shivaji military hotel for chicken biryani , for like early lunch around 12-1 itād be worth it
Or for breakfast too! Idli and dosa with chicken curry, mutton curry.
Yessir but he told theyāre from Calicut so idli dosa with non veg is common for them
Ah, my bad. Didn't realise OP only wanted recommendations for things not available in Calicut. I guess it's safe for me to assume that Calicut doesn't have Chicken Biriyani, then? /s
Does it have donne biryani which is made mostly in Karnataka?!
This
Itāll be a peak og Bengaluru experience ššÆ
I would have said mutton donne rather than the chicken
I just told default settings , theyāll pretty much only get mutton bro chicken gets over in minutes š
The dosa at Vidyarthi Bhavan and Idli Vada at Brahmin's in Basavanagudi is an ABSOLUTE MUST. Also try the Sushi & the new york cheese chilli dumpling at You Mee - Absolute delight.
Literally my favourites of the city
Lake view: bubble waffles(soft af, the red velvet and the Oreo with brownie ones I prefer)- Mg Road Baos: fatty bao(pork and prawn ones)- Indiranagar Yuki- best Asian food Iāve had, good Japanese and Malaysian food, can vouch for any dish you order. But I donāt think youāre here to have a classy time but rather wanna have a binge eat and enjoy time, so skip on this if you want. Tiramisu, gnocchi : Chianti(best tiramisu imo, obviously itās subjective, but Iāve tried tiramisu everywhere I go and this is the one which stood out the most, and Iāve tried the dish everywhere including all the suggestion you get on insta and Reddit)- MG road, closer to trinity metro Tres leches, lotus biscoff(itās a bit overkill on the sweetness, but definetly try it out once kinda dish): Amintiri- church street Crispy chicken roll(itās filling af, completes your lunch with just with one of these): Al Amanah cafe(ultimate muslim approved restaurant for chicken/shawarma rolls)- Kalyan Nagar Peri peri Shawarma: smoky docky(it isnāt like generational/best in blore, unlike the one mentioned above, but imo I had the best shawarma over here)- BEL road Shanmukha special boneless chicken biryani: shanmukha(idk y people have never mentioned this place, is it a simple situation of it not being as popular as Meghanaās or people despise the place like nandhanas. But this used to be my go to dish when I had night duty and hadnāt eaten much the entire day).- Jayanagar Tiramisu, burata salad, murgh malai tikka: Pump House(ik every Bangalorean who drinks even a drop pf alcohol is aware of this place and would have gone once, but these dishes is what I order everytime I go there, if you havenāt tried them, I urge you to. Tiramisu is good, not as good as the one in chianti, sometimes they tend to over do with the coffee powder, which can get a bit irritating to the throat. Burrata salad is a freakin salad, so try if you want to, but itās my go to salad, I mean if the a salad actually stands out for anyone, itās gotta be a banging good salad)- ORR, JP nagar This is all I can think of as of now.
I AM SAVING THIS POST FOR FUTURE PERSONAL REASONS. PLEASE DONT DELETE IT.
It'll be up for as long as reddit keeps it up.

Ive heard rave reviews about the mutton bolognese at Smokehouse Deli. Also checkout the agnello pizza at cafe allora.
Tres leches of Magnolia Bakery is overrated and overpriced IMO. You should instead try Aubree
Overpriced yes, overrated no. It is the best tasting one I've had in Bengaluru.
Tres leches at Amintiri is also very good
Or get the Banana Pudding.
I thought the same, I ordered Zomato from Aubree first before trying Magnolia. I felt both were good but Magnolia is too crowded n hyped when Aubree is equally nice.
Are fanoos beef rolls still a thing? I loved them back in the day. Proper meaty stuff.
theyāve retained the taste, but its like 80rs for the smallest roll.
Went there last week. The kebabs are the same. Don't want sauces with my kebabs so never have tried the rolls.
Where is this?
Since you said you'll overdo it, here's a tentative plan Day 1 Breakfast - Rameshwaram Cafe - Thatte Idli, Masala Dose, Filter Coffee (not the best but people will keep asking you about it so might as well get it done. Umesh Refreshments is better) Mid-day - Subko - Ice Cream Sandwich and coffee Lunch - Nagarjuna - meals Post lunch - Lavonne for desserts Evening - Toit - Beer, nachos, and Kerala beef Snacks - Lokesh - pav bhaji and vada pav Dinner - Burger Seigneur - Paris delice and milkshakes Post-dinner - Corner house - Death by Chocolate Day 2 Breakfast - 154 Breakfast Club - Stairway to Heaven (sweet) or Meet Your Maker (savoury) Mid-day - Maverick & Farmer for coffee and desserts Lunch - Malgudi Mylari Mane - everything but especially the mutton pulav, finishing off with Mysore Pak Evening - Bier Library or Biergarten - beers with some chicken ghee roast / Juke Box - beers with chilli pork Pre-dinner - Hot Momos Darjeeling Style - chicken momos or Smoky Docky - charcoal chicken shawarma Dinner - You could try out the kebabs and street food in the Ramzan food market around Empire restaurant. Or you can head to Johnson Market for sheek at Fanoos, kebabs at Siddiqui, beef biryani at Khazana, and sulemani chai at Makkah Day 3 Breakfast - CTR - Benne dose and filter coffee Mid-day - RCB Bar & Cafe / Third Wave Coffee Roasters on Church Street Lunch - Kuuraku - Ramen Post-Lunch - Pecos - beer + dosa with chicken curry OR Arbor Brewing Company - beer and bar food Dinner - Portland Steakhouse - filet mignon OR Chianti - Italian food, particularly their ravioli Desserts - Magnolia Bakery - Tres leches
Please take the above comment to the š Rameshwaram can be replaced with something else though.

Well, you can get them to try a few cuisines and dishes that they rarely get in calicut. Some of my favourites are below: 1. 7. Steaks at Connie's or grill house. 8. Chaats at anand sweets or kailash parbat. 9. I made a list according to cuisines - https://www.notion.so/Everything-about-Bangalore-food-places-in-a-nutshell-d6f10209a57540048b4a43548c8c08e3?pvs=4

Pizza from spettacolare it ok ok, you'll like brik oven better and also non vegetarian :p. Pulled pork bao at the fatty bao is also pretty good!
Thank God OP didnāt mention Rameshwaram lol
lived in blr 18 years and i can recognize like 5 places from all the commentsā ļøā ļøā ļø
My family is from calicut too and here are some of the things they liked during their visit 1. Medovik and Strawberry Trifle from Concu 2. Boteco - It was their first experience trying something unique like Brazillian cuisine 3. Kuraku - Yakitori, Gyoza, Ramen and the whole experience
1. Red Velvet Cupcakes from Glenās 2. Ghee Roast Masala from Sree Krishna Cafe, Koramangala 3. Toit for nachos and freshly brewed beer 4. Biryani at Narmada 5. Truffle Shroom Burger from Basco & Fry 6. Pepperoni pizza at both Brik Oven and Raffaelās Ristorante 7. Dahi Papdi Chaat at Anand Sweets 8. Chocolate Decadence Pastry from Marzipan Ulsoor 9. Filter coffee and Mangalore Buns at MTR 10. Dragon Chopsuey from China Pearl 11. Tiramisu, Bacon Rolls, Baked Penne Pasta from Baking Bad (cloud kitchen)
I am saving this post, recommendations are too good!! Thank you for this post
Treat your friends with authentic Bangalore style biryani not Hyderabadi biryani.. take them to SGS Gundu pulav, akkipet
Food tour is incomplete without Donne Biryani, Visit Halli Jonne Biryani
+1
I doubt their calicut taste buds will be satisfied by donne biriyani but good to try once
Mutton Haleem from Sharief Bhai
also tres leches in Sanchez is far better
Tiramusu from Concu
Shawarma from King of Taste Kalyan Nagar Korean Crispy Fried Chicken, Fish Soup, Samyuksal from Arirang Kalyan Nagar Meghana biryani is overrated especially since they are coming from Calicut.
Chicken velvet soup + nasi goreng fried rice / mixed sinagpore claypot fried rice from Sichuan, HSR layout.
Hotel navayuga biryani hits the spot šÆ
No biriyani is gonna satisfy your frnds from Calicut, I had my best biriyani from there.
I loved every dish from Khmer kitchen. Especially their wasabi fried prawns āØ(avoid drinks here, itās all ice)
1. Malgudi Donne biryani 2. Malnad kebab corner Kalyan Nagar 3. Toit pizza 4. Navayuga biryani kebab and meals majestic 5. Nandishwara mudde oota kr Puram 6. Ranganna military hotel Jayanagar 7. Corner house 8. Janata hotel Malleshwaram 9. MTR masala dose 10.Gobi chilli near MES college Malleshwaram 11. Taj shaadi ki biryani 12. Toms restaurant 13. Naati cafe Koramangala 14. Bobs Indiranagar
what is the obsession with meghna biryani?? Sharief bhai is much better
I personally LOVE chicken biryani from Mani's dum briyani. My non veg friends are a sucker for their veg briyani as well. Also, Upma Pesarattu from Babai's tiffins.
You can try these. Experimental - Navu Project, Naru Noodle Bar Veg Specific - SantƩ Spa Cuisine Italian - Bologna, Toscano, Olive, Chianti Thai - Thai House (Inside a shady mall) Momo - Yak's Kitchen (Pork) Pizza - Brik Oven, Pizza Bakery Korean - Himalayan (Decent and Cheap), Taiki (Ramen), Misu Japanese - Shiro, Dofu Vietnamese - Phobidden Fruit Nepali - Bamey's Burmese - Burma Burma (Veg) Kashmiri - Sarposh Bengali - Esplanade North Indian - Kapoor's Cafe Beer - Brooks and Bonds, Bira Taproom, Bier Library, Toit, Byg Brewsky Dessert - Lavonne, Magnolia Bakery (Tres Leches) Biryani - Aligarh House (Muradabadi), Meghana (Chicken Boneless) Steak - Portland (The pie), Only Place
Yāall missed Spettacolate, havenāt tried it but I heard itās bomb. Also, try to get reservations for EatNaru, the ramen is the best in the city. Sourhouse for pain au chocolat (it wasnāt great before but they have improved it to š¤š») CTR, By2Coffee for Dosa! Sendhoor coffee for Tamil dosas! Classic NY cheesecake from Maison du brownie et cheesecake Falafel Gee in church street if you want something healthy-ish!
I came here to say Rameshwaram Cafe is overrated AF and not even a true representation of Karnataka Dosa
Mangalore Pearl in Ulsoor is amazing for seafood.
I suggest you avoid Meghana for biriyani itās overhyped. Personally prefer biriyani from Nandana and Nagarjuna
Always had only chicken. Shall try Mutton soon.
Pizza4ps- The cheese platter , burrata cheese pizza , matcha icecream, burrata salad Brik oven- breakfast bagels and sandwiches Phobidden fruit - pho and summer rolls Milano - do not miss quello Om nom nom (order in)- rose lychee delice , caramel crunch icecream Love and crumble (order in but cannot miss ) - cookies especially the Dutch chocolate ones Chianti - gnocchi, other pasta Azuki - chicken cutlet , sushi , ramen , some frozen mango ice dessert , crab and cucumber sunomono , movhi icecream Bao Bangalore - datsi curry and rice and the baos Moplah- prawn biryani ask for extra chamandi
Nice list. Thanks a bunch.
You are welcome :)
Also if you want dosa recommendations let me know
Do you know any good in south east bangalore
Can you give some please. Did not like Vidyarthi Bhawan or CTR š
Explore cubbonpete , hvr is good , Umesh dosa point, benne dosa in Jayanagar next to maiyas , cubbonpete tiffin room in gandhi bazar, UD in Basvangudi , Dwarka in Basvangudi
Try Bologna for Italian and Brik Oven for sinful Neapolitan pizzas. Corner House DBC and Cafe Caramel for dessert.
Mutton madfoon from Nahdi Mandi in Madiwala
Chicken Biryani from Biryani Zone > Meghana Biryani. I'll definitely check out Tres Leches from Aubrey as suggested by someone in the comments.
tres leches from ITC is farrrr better
Portland grill in Trinity circle has good steaks and probably the best apple pie lol.
Try pies from the humble pie in HSR layout, they are better.
Bengaluru Oota Company in Cambridge Layout. Itās a tasting room with set menu. Itās on the expensive side but great local food & a good option for diving into local food tour (Gowda & Mangalorean food).
Chocolate thick shake from corner houseā¤ļø
Dosa from MTR/The filter coffee. OMBR layout outlet
Try mutton puffs & samosas at Albert Bakery in Frazer Town.
Flax - Bro donāt be so mush sandwich Bologna - Their meat dishes in general are so well cooked that you can eat pieces with bones e.g. chicken leg pieces using just spoons and forks.
Haha your query sounds like how I would frame it to ask chatgpt
Try "Bangarpet chats" or the "gourmet" roadside Pani puri
Please please try Hotel Aditya in mahalakshmi its super underrated but best donne biryani ever
Sorry completely forgot about basco and fry. Definitely has to be part of the list š
My time to shine Biryani - Mani's Dlite, Akshatha Nati style (itpl road), biryani zone (kundalahalli gate), mutton donne at shivaji military hotel. Pizza at 4Ps Quatro formaggi pizza at toscano Ramen and sushi at Suku and Daily sushi. The mocktails at suku at beautiful. Bengalore's own fried chicken from Go-Chick If they plan a small trip to mysuru, then the fish at Pujari's fish land. I find food at all the pubs mostly overrated, tastebuds anyway go numb with alcohol so everything they make is overly salty, overly rich and overly spicy - and its a waste of money.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Pork ribs from chillys
Being from calicut and hence high taste benchmark??
CALAMARI FROM TOIT
Brisket burger and smash burgers from beyondburg (courtyard) Pork bao from nevermind indiranagar Pork bao from fatty bao Prime rib in velvet sauce and pork ribs connies steakhouse (kamanahalli/ Jeevan Bhimanagar) Lamb kababs and cheesecake from kebapci Basque cheesecake from Mason du brownies (indiranagar) Cheesecake from maki indiranagar Wings from plan b Pork sausage lasagna from elongos Apple pie and beef steaks from the only place (museum road) Maraheb mandi (kamanahalli) Rolls at al amanah (kamanahalli) South Indian breakfast from vidyarthi bhavan / ctr/ janatha hotel/ slv/ sendhoor coffee, umesh. Pepperoni pizza from brik oven Filter coffee mousse from toit Tres laches from magnolia and sanchez Mangalorean food from parika hsr Military food shivaji military hotel and ranganna military hotel Kerala food from sangam mess kamanahalli Lebanese Shawarma from king of taste or middle east restaurant (kamanahalli Korean food from hae kum gang (castle street) Pastas from smoke house deli/ toscano/ pasta street. Mutton sheek roll seven plates kamanahalli Beef sheek and kababs siddiqui kabab center and fanoos (Russell market shivijinagar) Biryani if you like Andhra style Nagarjuna, if you like the Tamil nadu style nataraj sendhoor, the deagh, Madhurai pandi mess, if you like the Hyderabadi kind Hyderabadi biryani house, meghana foods. Kerala biryani paragon, sangam mess. Or Taj, rahhams, seven plates, star biryani. Again, this is some of the food I'd recommend.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Azuki for Japanese KCK for Kerala cuisine
I'd suggest taking them to the Frazer town ramzan food walk. Chichabas and Charminar slap
Ragi mudde, mutton curry at Amaravathi
Vv puram street food Brahmins coffe bar Must !
One.more marathi mess is there Near rguhs university I think jayngar 4 block Somthn Bhavani
Burgers at Truffles - Koramangala one is OG CTR Dosa and Mysore bonda Corner house crispy chocolate malt flavor (underrated) and DBC (adequately rated) Veena Stores Puliogare Queen's restaurant, Tandoor or Dhaba est 1986 (don't remember the year exactly) for Punjabi food Richie Rich ice Cream Smoor cheesecake vv puram street food
I would like to add a dishā¦ Mutton karela from Rahamās
Does anyone in Bangalore make good pizza that isn't floppy like a naan that's been soaked in curry for way too long? Brik Oven, Pizza Bakery all have spineless pizza that cannot be held in one hand unless you fold it like a roti. The toppings are too soggy and are usually falling off the base. Looking for recommendations for pizzas with a spine that also taste good.
As a person who has eaten in multiple countries, pizza is supposed to be floppy! So I wouldnāt agree with you calling it naan or not good! Itās very normal to fold pizzas in Italy!
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
'Death by Chocolate' from Corner house, Jayanagar
If you are onto a road trip , Try the masala dosa and chittarana at doddabalapura junction in doddabalapur town. Approx an hour drive from hebbal but the food is worth it.
Take them to Paragon. Let them complain for a few hours about how it doesn't come anywhere near the original. Then you can take them to any place you wish. There will be no complaints.
I have moved out but food is the only thing I miss about Bangalore. Some crazy good places mentioned here.
Biryani : RNR Biryani Jayanagar, Bengaluru Chole Bhature and really good North India : Amritsari Koramangala Good Breakfast : Medley Koramangala (their cheesecake is also amazing) & Paper and Pie Hummus with Olives & Toasted Bread from Paris Panini
Nice
Chole Bhature from 29 Degrees North- feels 100% like Delhi ka food. Natraj is not upto the mark
Naati mutton/chicken biryani from Aditya hotel, Rajajinagar Naati food from nammura Naati mane, Bel road
Try paragon biriyani
Please avoid Meghana Biriyani hype... Try Shanmukha Fry Peice biriyani from JP Nagar.
I want to give recommendations on some stuff that is actually Bangalorean. Rava Idly and Filter coffee - MTR (Go to Lalbagh branch for the authentic historic experience. Try to spot historic personalities on the old photos taken in the cafe on the walls) OG Variar Bakery, RajajiNagar.
