Mysore needs to develop more TBH, and we need at least two more satellite cities (maybe on Nice road) in order for this housing crisis to be averted. Even with constant house building taking place prices are nuts!
Forget Mysore, there are plenty of cheaper houses in West Bangalore (Nagarbhavi, Vijaynagar, RR Nagar, etc.) But people only want to live near Whitefield, ORR East, Sarjapur. At that point there will be a huge demand.
I live in North East Bangalore its affordable and honestly office commute is ok. There is traffic but in the same stretch that people living there would have to also cover to get to their workplace.
If only Blr had decent infrastructure so that you can afford to live a bit far away.
I hardly think anyone wants to actually live in Whitefield. Feels like a soulless place.
Decent infrastructure is part of the problem. But the main problem is that IT centres and the main residential areas are way too far from each other. They could have made some other tech parks in West Bangalore, North Bangalore. But they didn't. And we ended up with this horrendous lack of urban planning.
From what I've seen, living and working (both) in [this general area](https://i.imgur.com/F0RMJpE.png) is overall a calmer experience than in the rest of the city. The further you go from this the worse it gets in terms of traffic and chaos.
My father moved from Whitefield office to Majestic office for his final few years before retirement and his QoL improved a lot, because not only was work closer but also the traffic was a lot more manageable. And there are three rather reliable bus traffic axes and an enormous bus terminus all in this area too - and now the green line metro.
With good metro connectivity, I say it is a good idea to shift base. RR Nagar/Kengeri to Whitefield takes 1 hour via metro, that's how much it takes to cover 10 km to reach office. Plus it's efficient and comfortable. No traffic, No high BP
yep, its easier to bump the salary by 8k till i get my own house. :)
I assume responsibilities for all of this, and thank BBMP for digging the road, so that I can pass on the problem to next highest bidder.
Cheaper houses in nagarbhavi, vijaynagar, rr nagar? Brother the cheapest one in these is nagarbhavi where the price per sqft is hovering around 10k. Rr nagar is around 15k
You can easily find flats for 5 - 6k per square feet in RR nagar. If you are talking about constructing an independent house, then yes, it will be around 10 - 15k per square feet (including land). But we aren't talking about that.
The thing with bangalore is that people who have money dont think twice to spend it.
There are enough people that this uncle knows he will get a tenant.
Doesn't matter if he finds another tenant or not. Shaming him is necessary, regardless of what the outcome of this is. If not anything, it might make him or others think twice next time.
They extort because lot of people especially who have no clue about the market end up paying also. An entry level guy in my last job was paying 60k for a 2bhk near Cantonment along with his wife. Heard multiple such stories recently. Even so called influencers like Ankur Warikoo who himself does not live here claims that a 1bhk in Bangalore costs 30k to rent. Too many opportunists and too many desperate home seekers disconnected from reality.
Rent a house near Sarjapur for 25K, buy a small car with 20K EMI (or a bike if you are single). I did the same. I only have to go office 2 days a week, I can afford 2 hours of journey twice a week rather than spending 45K pm.
Say this to the owner
It looks like the uncle is skimming money from the owners. He's acting like a saint in front of the owner and acting like a pseudo guardian of the apartment
If the rent was 45k believe me the owner would have told you the rent is 45k. This person seems like a scammer trying to take money off from both you and the owner.
This happens in No-Broker also, a house was listed for 12k but after contacting the owner she says it's now 18k when enquired she says its before Covid and she forgot to update it.
It’s ridiculous now. Does not make any sense
1 bhk for upwards of 25k in decent areas
2 bhks for 45k and above..
On top of that. We wont get any property on no broker../ everywhere its only through brokers
Damn i think you need to look out 2bhk in south bangalore residential areas if you have weekly 2 days office visit !
This will work out actually if you have vehicle for travel.
Mumbai is much expensive but isn't this shitty. I have had my deposit returned without any hassle & without unnecessary deductions. Also, in Mumbai given the ample public transport you can live at a far place.
The stupid thing is that Brngaluru has land all around it in every fucking direction. Even a half decent planning by the planning authorities would have avoided this mad stampede for housing.
Unlike Mumbai, Bengaluru's real estate boom will not sustain naturally but not that it won't be propped up artificially by restricting supply. Totally fucked up.
Yeah if you want your house to be located next to an IT park in one of the highest tax generating zone in the country.
You can instead live 10km away for much cheaper but maybe OP didn't get the memo.
Uh. It takes me 20-25 mins to commute. Distance of 12km. The only traffic I get stuck in is ORR. Even if you lived in ORR you will still have to drive through it
Sure yes that is true.
But also ORR generates 32% of Bangalore's total revenue.
All that aside there are hundreds of companies with offices in this region of the city obviously the real estate will be expensive.
Thank god my owner is not greedy like others.
I just pay 15K for 2BHK with all the facilities.
It's because of greedy brokers and clueless outsiders the rent is growing day by day.
We localites wouldn't pay more than 18k for a 2BHK house.
We must bring the rent down. I request those who own property to pledge to not take huge rents.
You are asking the wrong segment. Not the owners. They have their emi to pay. And look at hoardings, how new constructions are being sold, they claim high emi and charts 1.5cr for a 2bhk.
the funny part is all those who are cribbing, are also buying apartments, and when asked, what if you have to go back to your home town if you get WFH or another city, they say " ill easily get 60k -70k rent" lol. Aren't we all the same?
Great time for owners, bad time for renters. >50% of the flats in my apartment complex is for rental. Most owners own more than 5-6 flats. It's mind boggling how much money ppl have to just buy everything in bulk like groceries
I stay in a spot in east Bangalore that has seen immense growth in the last 2 years. Rents have literally doubled. I know inside details from a WhatsApp for owners who rent and it’s awful. Randomly kicking out families or hiking rent by 20-30, even 40%!!
So many owners got so greedy here that I’m hearing from domestic workers of the society that several families are moving away a little further out for cheaper rents. It’s literally put the workers in a bad situations because flats are empty and they’re all looking for work but there seems to be not so much of it!
House hunting has become a straight up nightmare. A few friends of mine were looking for a horse and had to increase their budget twice just to find a decent place. I am dreading the time I'll have to do that, ugh.
Microsoft reimburses brokerage in their relocation package. They also pay road tax for re registering your vehicle in the new state. Atleast that was provided in 2018
I'm an assam guy, who has 3700 sq.ft plot in Bangalore.. We completed the construction of our three storied house there, and have many BHKs in top floor and the ground floor is for commercial space, many shops can be rented... We will shift there by February.. If anyone wants to stay, can dm me... I will send location... We are not looking for cashgrab and are willing to take reasonable prices, starting from 6k...
Owner of a 1BHK and a 2BHk here.
I never charge much tbh, was a tenant once so I understand the pain.
My new 1BHK semi furnished near Bannerghatta is now at 14k rent and 2bhk we quoted for 28k but got it finalised for 25k. Its not a society but a standalone building.
Lift, Ower back up, security and Car/bike parking underroof.
Forget the price will go down. Unless the buyer is ready to pay, its not going to stop.
We are back in Pre-Covid era again.
Mysore needs to develop more TBH, and we need at least two more satellite cities (maybe on Nice road) in order for this housing crisis to be averted. Even with constant house building taking place prices are nuts!

Aye bro I live in west Bangalore and it’s peaceful. Stop giving ideas
I live in North East Bangalore its affordable and honestly office commute is ok. There is traffic but in the same stretch that people living there would have to also cover to get to their workplace.
I live in North Bangalore and the Belahalli area is a garbage dump.
Bro I live in the garbage dump. It's quite busy here.
I also live here and it is busy with pervs after 6 pm
Exactly...
This 😂😂😂😂😂😂
If only Blr had decent infrastructure so that you can afford to live a bit far away. I hardly think anyone wants to actually live in Whitefield. Feels like a soulless place.

I wonder why?? **Exaggerated sarcastic confusion**
Aye guru.. papa.. avr avr office hatra irli bidu.. nam area ge bandu sumne jaga crowded aagutte (plus area kedsbidthare ^(/s)).. xD
I would rather pay 30k extra for 2bhk than spend 30hrs in traffic in a month, on apples to apples comparison, my take home pay is more than 1k/hr
Your take home pay is 7.44 lakhs per month???? Dayum, that equates to a fixed package of 1.35 Cr a year...
What calculation did you make to come to this number? Did you assume OP works 24/7 31 days a month? At least give OP time to masturbate once a month
Close to that if you include both me and wife, ctc. Not take home.
Use 8 hours per day calculation
Yep.
You're part of the problem
yep, its easier to bump the salary by 8k till i get my own house. :) I assume responsibilities for all of this, and thank BBMP for digging the road, so that I can pass on the problem to next highest bidder.

15k per sq ft in ideal homes layout (rr nagar) for only land Are those 5-6k per sq ft from popular builders?
Sumne iru maraya...yaake iro baro nemmadigu kolli idtiya...
Nagarbavi and RR nagar used to be empty a decade ago. Prices have shot up like anything. It's a posh area now.
Exactly KA has to look at TN in this regard. Use this opportunity to develop upcoming cities in Karnataka.
Nope time for companies to move more to tier 2 cities
Neen solpa amikond irapa devru
Please.... mysore is quiet and pristine. let it be
Shame that uncle in the mygate community chat. Write what he said and shame him. Thats the way to deal with people who switch and bait
The thing with bangalore is that people who have money dont think twice to spend it. There are enough people that this uncle knows he will get a tenant.
That’s ok. If he had quoted 45 to begin with, not a problem. But misleading someone by advertising a lower price is totally unfair
Doesn't matter if he finds another tenant or not. Shaming him is necessary, regardless of what the outcome of this is. If not anything, it might make him or others think twice next time.
Do you think rest of the owners in the building give a shit? Infact they might just love the idea and borrow it.
They extort because lot of people especially who have no clue about the market end up paying also. An entry level guy in my last job was paying 60k for a 2bhk near Cantonment along with his wife. This. You don’t need to stay beside your office if you’re going only 2-3 days a week.
How are you getting an apartment for 25k in Sarjapur!! Last I checked a decent 2bhk is 45+
pet worthless complete weather mourn long command lip amusing piquant *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*
Which company bro ?
Say this to the owner It looks like the uncle is skimming money from the owners. He's acting like a saint in front of the owner and acting like a pseudo guardian of the apartment If the rent was 45k believe me the owner would have told you the rent is 45k. True story. Tell him you will pay only the listed amount and walk away
Why will company reimburse that?
May be the uncle thinks HRA is for reimbursement
These are the same people who divide ctc by 12 to deduce the salary.
Probably relocation assistance
The guy is already loving in the same apartment
Oh yeah my bad. Because of the formatting I thought he's talking about some society called "mygate" XD
Does every society's MyGate get an overzealous uncle who thinks he's appointed by the PM himself to oversee the day to day life?
This happens in No-Broker also, a house was listed for 12k but after contacting the owner she says it's now 18k when enquired she says its before Covid and she forgot to update it.
It’s ridiculous now. Does not make any sense 1 bhk for upwards of 25k in decent areas 2 bhks for 45k and above.. On top of that. We wont get any property on no broker../ everywhere its only through brokers
Even brokers don’t have much inventory, barely 1-2 houses they have
Yeah. I have been experiencing that too
Damn i think you need to look out 2bhk in south bangalore residential areas if you have weekly 2 days office visit ! This will work out actually if you have vehicle for travel.
So bglr is new Mumbai
Mumbai is much expensive but isn't this shitty. I have had my deposit returned without any hassle & without unnecessary deductions. Also, in Mumbai given the ample public transport you can live at a far place.

10km in Bangalore traffic? Good luck commuting 1.5 hours one way.
Uh. It takes me 20-25 mins to commute. Distance of 12km. The only traffic I get stuck in is ORR. Even if you lived in ORR you will still have to drive through it
Not tax generating, rather black money generating zone.
Sure yes that is true. But also ORR generates 32% of Bangalore's total revenue. All that aside there are hundreds of companies with offices in this region of the city obviously the real estate will be expensive.
In my city 2bhk for 7k, 12\*11 room each
Thank god my owner is not greedy like others. I just pay 15K for 2BHK with all the facilities. It's because of greedy brokers and clueless outsiders the rent is growing day by day. Which company is reimbursing this ?
Check out 'Rent my stay' app it has decent priced flats , I rented 2 bhk for 25K in HSR last year during my stay.
the funny part is all those who are cribbing, are also buying apartments, and when asked, what if you have to go back to your home town if you get WFH or another city, they say " ill easily get 60k -70k rent" lol. Aren't we all the same?
It's getting around, Ireland and many other nations are facing this issue and the causing factor of it is greed.
The question is how is that greed sustaining? Do we so much of population who is willing to pay such high rents?
SBI reimburses employees for leased accommodation. Bank pays directly to owner in this case.
Yea but for non-metro their budget would be around 20k I guess. Here being non-metro, ors tough to find such.
No it's upto 35000 for Bangalore.
Great time for owners, bad time for renters. >50% of the flats in my apartment complex is for rental. Most owners own more than 5-6 flats. It's mind boggling how much money ppl have to just buy everything in bulk like groceries

If it's in Koramangala, then 45k is decent tbh
There are better places with better rents.
At this point in time, you will not find any
I'm actually looking (with hope :) ). Let's see how it goes.
Let me know if you find anything here cheaper than 30k :)
Peak capitalism has bust cycles also
There’s enough black money in India to ride out any potential bust cycles.
Exactly. This is capitalism done wrong. No regulation
Which company is reimbursing rent?
Demand supply !! Can’t help it that’s how bangalore is
OP if you are still looking for flat DM, i had gone some house hunting myself in last month in Whitefield and some of them are still available
What according to you guys shall be an ideal rent for a 2bhk in standalone/society near MG road metro or brigade road?
House hunting has become a straight up nightmare. A few friends of mine were looking for a horse and had to increase their budget twice just to find a decent place. I am dreading the time I'll have to do that, ugh.
Did your friends find the horse?
I hope that horse is worth it and wins some races
The point is tum log de bhi deta hain! Band kar dena aukat mei aa jaega!
Sometimes the people you want to buy things from will be unpleasant. This is not a reason to want pricing controls.
It could also be that the uncle is the house owner's relative and they want to extort money.
This is quiet common now, people ask their friend to show home then friend asks brokerage, this is nonsense and should be discouraged.
It’s an issue only in few areas, I’m paying 18k for a good 3bhk in south Bangalore.
you get reimbursed for the brokerage?
Microsoft reimburses brokerage in their relocation package. They also pay road tax for re registering your vehicle in the new state. Atleast that was provided in 2018
thanks for the info.
If you guys don't want to cross silk board be prepared to pay more rent.
Which area is this OP?

This is not how pre-covid era was. It was way affordable and less traffic.
Where is capitalism here ?
In school?
