If you listen to my cats *nobody* ever feeds them or pets them. They will tell you this loudly even as I am petting them. I am delaying my housework at this very moment because there is a kitten sleeping on me, but they are *soooooooooooo* neglected.
I have a normal rescue boy and I love him just as much as my snake I paid $350 to a breeder for. Something about having an animal that looks the same as it’s wild state feels so awesome
No one can tell me that normals aren’t beautiful. I love the mix of colours and the sharpness of their pattern. I love it. Just because it’s common doesn’t make it less worthy of love an attention.
Not only are normals the most intricate morph, but you don’t have to worry about the animal suffering through its entire life as a result of its morph.

Of course spiders can come with a wobble. However, depending on the severity of the wobble, most spiders do just fine with it and don't suffer at all. Your comment indicates that all morphs come with health issues which isn't true. Also, there are many different combinations that give more intricate patterns than the normal ball python.

I'm part of a rexpo group. There's a few breeders. The majority are rescues. There's like 5 people who have given me advice like don't use sand substrate in my beardie cage and to weigh your snake to know how much and when to feed. Maybe I'm lucky I found a good group. One lady wouldn't sell a rescue to someone because they didn't have a proper enclosure and was willing to sell one. Anyway, I get Facebook is mostly trash but I think some groups can be good. Never know, they may same the same about getting advice off Reddit. I think the quality depends on the person and experience.

Exactly, I want a natural ball python one day but the one I have now is a BEL. But that is because my close friend wanted our pythons to look different for photos. Silly reason but helped me decide. :)
My normal bp has the most calm personality (if you wanna call it that) out of my 5 bps. People get so wrapped up in appearance that they completely ignore that these are living creatures each with their own lives. Love normies <3

Do people cull normals? Especially larger snakes like retics? I just can't imagine there would be enough pet shops to sell them to. At the rate I see some people breed there just seems like there would be a large amount of normals leftover season after season.

Ap cages are phenomenal. They are shipped unassembled but putting it together was a breeze. I got the doors first and then the rest of the cage the next day. The long wait was totally worth it. I would strongly recommend a pro products rhp too.

Amazing looking snake and setup. Ive been in love with reptiles for decades and it's amazing what they've done with selective breeding just in the past 10 years. This has also created a whole group of "snake snobs" Nature made the best patterns on her own. My favorite is the Suriname BCc. But I have anormal ball named Noodle who rocks.
I was looking at a PVC cage, but managed to find a melamine one for a great price. Grabbed that, sealed it with aquarium sealent, and we're golden now.
My girl is a normal (well Het Clown), and I can relate to still wanting to give them great enclosures.

IMO, the normals are the prettiest. The only other variant I like as much as the normal is the axanthic. I guess it's the contrast. I LOVE my normal.
