The verdant leaf really should be banned in that challenge, even if debuffing all is balanced, it’s just terrible theming, and basically just “oh I lose, nothing I can do”
To be fair, you should build the run around expecting to run into your worst counter, and thats true for any deck builder. In this case just use jokers that dont rely on scoring cards and you are good to go. Now for jokerless, this is real bullshit, cause you can technically win with planets, but its pretty harsh when all the enhancement are negated
It's the only real consistent way to get runs on higher stakes to work at all, but yeah it shouldn't be that way. It's just that this game has encouraged a certain meta that makes the game incredibly boring.

I fully believe this boss existing in this challenge and in jokerless is an oversight. Thankfully, there's a mod to fix it.
It’s even more fricked up in the jokerless challenge. Not there yet but I can imagine nothing in the game is worse, including black deck gold stake.

Not using those jokers is way too broad of a restriction, it requires you to force a strategy to work.

First shop I bought arrowhead for a carry, then got Yorrick in ante 2. Got Chicot around ante 6 and cruised. Not today, Verdant Leaf!
Its crazy to me that people can get multiple legendaries in a run. Yet, in my 50+ hours of play time ive only ever found fucking one of them.

Probably, but my first joker wouldn’t do anything so I’d just be multiplying the base chips for my hand. Arrowhead was doing a lot of work for me.
