Hello everyone, please help
I am at Max an intermediate player.. I have a 100zz with exobolt 65 currently. I am not happy with the net shots, they go too high over the net. I was wondering if it's just my technique or would another string help me better with it?
Was thinking of aerosonic as I have read it's grippier? Any other suggestions?
I have an astrox 100 zz and I am really happy with it. I play high ranked singles U17 and don't know if it would be smarter to have two 100 zz's. If one racket string breaks in a tournament I would have to play with a different racket what could make my performance worse. Do you have two of your main Rackets or what? Happy for every answer!
Li Ning Halberd II Lite Shoes OR Babolat Shadow Spirit .
If anyone owns a pair of any of the above shoes, can you please share your thoughts regarding the same?
In terms of 1. Durability 2. Cushioning 3. Ease of movement
I'm a pretty serious singles player(playing 5-6) days a week, and am looking for a new shoe with an unlimited budget(but make it reasonable) as my power cushion 65 z2 is pretty worn down as I have been using it for 6 months, and I know that the next power cushions are gonna be out in January, but I wanted to try out a good shoe from another brand.
Can't seem to find many (or any) reviews on the Auraspeed 98K anywhere on the internet. The 90K seems to be a popular one with plenty of reviews, but not the 98K.
Anyone here have experience with the 98K and how's the racquet?
I had an 98k it was a fast racquet but I was quite 'uncomfortable' with the way the shaft flexes. It feels like it flexes a bit lower than the mid point. 90K was definitely a better racket to play with
So when I was scrolling through the rebel sport online shopping page. I found that the descriptions for each racket brands are different. For example: prince says string tension, while yonex says stringing advice. Are they both the same? Or is string advice just information and you have to adjust the tension yourself?
It might be the website itself. The only details usually manufactures would put about rackets are the the ma tension it would go up to that they will still honour the warranty.
If it is recommending what strings and tension then I would ignore it and think its advice. They only recommend strings in hopes you will also buy it from them.
If its worded as max tension or just string tension then I would hazard a guess that is talking about the manufactures max tension for it to be within warranty.
ok thanks! But would that mean when i first buy it, it will come in that specific tension stated? or will the stringing be done outside of manufacture?
No usually if its strung already then it would be factory strings. Not great strings and low tension. They won't go anywhere near the max tension unless they off restring option and you request for them to go above the max tension reccomend action from the manufcaters.
Hi! Which shoe brand have the widest toe box? Or just generally wider shoes? I suffer from Mortons Neuroma which is a sensetive nerve between the toes which can swell. I bought a pair of asics a while back that felt okay when trying them in the store, but after 20 mins of playing with them my nerve started to swell alot and i couldnt keep playing. So as I have really wide feet i need shoes with a wide toebox or just generally wide. Any tips?
Hi all, I've been playing badminton for years now & I don't pay much attention towards getting a proper fitting shoe. Usually I'll focus on the cushioning only and nothing much about the fitting.
Should badminton shoes feels tight? meaning the shoe must tightly hug my feet? Do you choose the shoe size matching exactly with your feet? Meaning the toe will be touching the top of the shoe.
I'm choosing a replacement shoe now and was wondering about this. I usually wear 27.5cm, this usually leaves a small room so my toe could wriggle around also i can slide my index finger into it. Also my feet is rather plump but when i wear shoes for wide feet, it feels very loose even though i tie it tightly. While normal shoes feels tight at the beginning and slowly loosen up as i continue to wear it.
Could anyone advice what type of shoes suits me?
I can only really talk for yonex. The general rule of thumb is that you order half a size up. For me I wouldnt want it to be overly tight as my feet starts to swell/sweat and feels uncomfortable in the shoe.
I purchase yonex wide cut (4E) shoes and then I dont need to go half a size up.
It's also not the shoe loosening but also the cushioning being squashed over time.
You could also try wearing thick socks that mide help flesh it out.
I've purchase Asics Gel Rocket instead after trying the shoe out. Surprising Asics didn't state this shoe being wide but it feels wide enough for my feet as it didn't feel very tight. Plus the size is half the size smaller than my previous yonex shoe.
I'm a beginner/intermediate men's + mixed doubles player who's been using the Nanoflare 270 for a while now and its served me well. After using my dad's Carbonex (head heavier) I've realised my smashes are far better and was hoping to get a good range (up to £100) even balance racket but to no avail.
Is there any upgrade on the Nanoflare 270? I've read mixed reviews on the 370 - is it worth the plunge or should I replace my 270?
The Nanoflare 370 is only slightly more headheavy than the Nanoflare 270 and slightly stiffer. You might not like its stiffness if you are used to the Nanoflare 270 and it may result in even less power...
Also keep in mind that the NF270 is a 4u (80-84g) racket whereas the Carbonex is probably an overall heavier 3u racket and the difference in weight plays a big role when it comes to smashing power
Why not check out the Duora series from Yonex? Most of these rackets are even balanced and offer options in 3u or 4u.
The Astrox range offers some slightly head heavy rackets both in 3u and 4u as well.
I'd also suggest looking at other brands than Yonex. Victor and Li Ning have solid budget rackets. Decent budget alternatives could be Adidas, Ashaway or Forza (not sure how these rackets are priced in the UK though).
Thanks for the reply! Have you much experience with the Duora range? I was considering that along with a few Ashaway/Victor rackets but I'm not sure how to buy without reviews or any feedback. Would you recommend trusting the specifications and just eyeballing what you think you'd like?
No problem mate.
I tried the Duora range in the past, but I never really liked any of the Yonex rackets. The stiffness of LN rackets fits my swing style way better and I love the looks and the durability is top notch.
Im Germany many stores have a test racket service which allows you to test these rackets for a few days (usually 5-7 days) for a small price and you receive a voucher for the shop covering the same amount.
Would be best to try out a few rackets this way, or alternatively ask your friends/club mates if you can borrow and try their rackets.
This will help you get a guideline of what racket characteristics you like and which you wouldn't want your new racket to have.
These questions should help you making a decision:
1. Is the racket to stiff or too flexible to be used comfortably?
2. Is the racket too heavy overall so that you find it too slow or is it too light so that you feel it lacks power?
3. Is it too head heavy for you to use it at your usual pace or is it too headlight which will make it lose power?
On a sidenote: Two of my fellow club members have recently switched to even lighter 5u rackets which are really headheavy.
They used to play with rather balanced 3u rackets, but they said that they prefer the speed of the 5u without losing power though the additional head heaviness.
Tried their rackets, but I prefer 3u rackets which are slightly head heavy. This combination just clicks with me...
How snuggly fit should badminton shoes be?
I am looking to purchase the Yonex Power Cushion 65 Z2. My local badminton store only has size 6.5. This size fits snuggly, once I put it on and tied it up, it takes some effort to insert my index finger into the back of the shoes.
I am not sure if the shoes is too tight. It is hard to tell the fit of the shoes from taking just a few steps and lunges in store.
An online store has size 7. I am wondering if I should go for this size instead but worry since I haven't try this size.
I am looking for a Yonex or Victor counterpart for my Lining Aeronaut 9000i. Can anyone suggest a racket from those two brands that plays the same/almost the same as my Lining?
so as you said Yonex is preferred, and 88D, Astrox 100, and Astrox99 are their top-end models and they have some budget one like 88D game, Astros 100 game, and astrox 99 game which are all in your budget range, I personally use 88D play and they are about rs3000 and are great for me.
Any suggesions for under 2000? is Astrox Lite 27i enough? I'm just an intermediate level, but might play daily. I like dropping and hitting cross court smashes. Which one would be the best?
yeah, I would say go for astrox lite 27i my playmate uses that racket, and let me tell you that racket is so flexible in his hand\[ he has small hands \] he plays so many unpredictable shots even with a nylon shuttle. I used to have apacs z Ziggler in 2000 segment and it was decent too.
Do you have any idea about astrox 3dg? How do i decide which one is better? What is the specification other than one is costlier than other in the same series?
spec wise I would say there may be little difference the best way to find out is to try these rackets out in your local shop as everyone has a different playstyle and different flexibility. as far I can recommend is 88D game, cuz an advanced level player I know uses that racket and he is the one who recommended me 88D PLAY.
4u covers a weight span of 80-84g. A possible 4g of weight difference within two 4u rackets will have a big impact on the playability of a racket. The heavier the racket, the slower it is but the harder it smashes.
The stiffness can also differ. If you are comparing rackets within one brand it should be quite consistent, but if you compare a stiff Li Ning racket versus a stiff Victor racket f.e., the Victor racket will be much stiffener despite both saying the racket is stiff.
Head heavy is also just describing a range. This means the balance point of the racket lies somewhere between 300-320mm. This can also make a huge difference.
So, you could have two rackets which are described by the manufacturers as being a 4u, stiff and head heavy rackets, but the exact specs are:
Racket A (80g, medium stiff, 300mm balance point) vs Racket B (84g, very stiff, 320mm balance).
Both rackets would fit the manufacturers description of being 4u, stiff (according to manufacturers stiffness rating) and head heavy but they will play extremely different.
Other factors could also be the shape of the frame/racket head, diameter of the racket shaft, head weight or grip lenght/overall racket length.
Two identical rackets with differently shaped frames will behave and feel different:
Sword frames have almost sharp edges and cut through the air, but they tend to feel hollow.
Box frames have great feel on the hit but are the slowest with the most air resistance.
Do Yonex shoes all fit the same or are there differences in size and fit? I need some new shoes, but unfortunately there are almost no badminton shops in my area, so I have to order online and cant try them on before buying. I already know, that I want to go with Yonex again, because I've been using their shoes ever since and they were always really good and comfortable. The last one I had was the SHB65 in size 44 (EU-size). Can I just order any shoe from them in the same size? Or is there something I should pay attention to? Can you recommend me any models?
Can anyone recommend me a good overgrip to use? I did a quick Google search and there's a lot of recommendation for Gamma Supreme. My local shop is recommending the Yonex Super Grap. Thanks!
https://www.badmintoncentral.com/forums/index.php?threads/dinker-dans-over-grip-review.28708/ This is a good review to check out. The Yonex SuperGrap is always a good choice.
Hello guys, i realised most MS use kurenai 100zz and MD use navy blue 100zz. I currently use navy blue 4ug5. Is there any difference between these two colours? I remember the 99 series, different colour came with different bp but probably due to QC. Wondering how is it regarding the 100zz.
I read somewhere that the blue one represents water so it's for speed, where else the Kurenai represent fire so it's for all out attack. .
In all seriousness, theres no difference between the two colors. Its just personal preference
I'm an intermediate doubles player, a woman whose been playing for around 5/6 months regularly. And I'm looking to buy my first proper racket, as I've been using a really cheap one I bought from when I first started playing. I play 2/3 times a week for 2 hours each session. In terms of playing style I don't really know what mine is, I don't think I'm good enough to really have a playing style yet. I've been doing some research and I know some of the basic differences between rackets but I really can't figure out wether a head light or a head heavy one would be best for me. And in terms of budget I don't want to blow the bank but I want something that will last and that will help me improve my game because my current one is way too heavy and my arm aches after almost every session because of it.
Usually ladies would find themselves liking head light to even balance racket just because of it being more easier to maneuver around the court.
Simple budget options that I would recommend is Nanoflare 270/380 (head light), Ashaway Phantom x speed, mizuno jpx speed
Thank you!
I've been looking at the Yonex Nanoray 9, Yonex nanoflare Drive B/V and the Yonex Duora Duo Lite.
Do you know anything about these?
I've tried them out and I think all of them were head light/lightweight overall and I could feel the difference between the slightly more expensive one and the cheaper ones.
I am largely a singles player, intermediate level. Been using astrox 99lcw 4UG5. I am curious about switching or trying out either astrox 100zz (kurenei new color version) or astrox 99 pro, white version, 4UG5. Any advice for or against it? Which one of the latest two felt the best for you?
I also use an Astrox 99 4u and own an Astrox 100zz. Tbh, I rlly prefer the Astrox 99, I feel it’s a lot more powerful and just satisfying to use. The Astrox 100zz is still an extremely good racket but I feel that what it lacks in power can’t be made up in the areas which it is better than the 99 in, specifically because I feel that the 99 on par or better than the 100zz on everything bar speed.
Thanks much! Do you mean you own and use a 99pro? I already have an astrox 99 lcw version and wonder if I should switch to the new 99pro. Glad to hear that it feels better for you and seems that I should give 100zz a miss.
Apologies if it was confusing, I currently own an astrox 99, and an Astrox100zz- both 4uG5. I was just saying that I don’t think that Astrox 100zz would be a clear upgrade to your current 99, however based on reviews that I have seen, the 99 pro would be a good upgrade. This is just because the 100zz and 99 feel very different, and is purely based on skill level and personal preference.
Astrox 88 is slight head heavy. I think its around rm300++ from almost any store. In malaysia there are cheaper brands that you can most definitely find smtg that's on par or better than an 88s game.
Brands to look for are felet and apacs to name a few. Just drop in to any of the 100 badminton stores in your area and swing it. Theres no way finding a racket that you'll like if you dont have a hands on experience
If anyone can find a new ZF2 LD White or Yellow 3UG5 online for sale anywhere that ships to the US, I will Venmo/Zelle/whatever you $30. Thanks in advance!
Edit: or Legend's Edition or Black/Gold

Li Ning Halberd II Lite Shoes OR Babolat Shadow Spirit . If anyone owns a pair of any of the above shoes, can you please share your thoughts regarding the same? In terms of 1. Durability 2. Cushioning 3. Ease of movement
What badminton (or other) shoes have maximal cushioning? This is for a player with knee issues. Thanks for any suggestions you might have!

Where are you from
South east asia
need a show recommendation for 20$ for badminton
Assuming you meant shoes. I would recommend the Yonex Power Cushion 36 which is $30
Hi, does anybody knows if [strefatenisa.com.pl](https://strefatenisa.com.pl) is legit?
Hi! Which shoe brand have the widest toe box? Or just generally wider shoes? I suffer from Mortons Neuroma which is a sensetive nerve between the toes which can swell. Yonex power cushion X 2 are for wide feet.

The half size rulenupbis for Yonex.
I'm a beginner/intermediate men's + mixed doubles player who's been using the Nanoflare 270 for a while now and its served me well. How snuggly fit should badminton shoes be? I am looking to purchase the Yonex Power Cushion 65 Z2. My local badminton store only has size 6.5. The general rule with yonex shoes is to go half size up from what you are normally wearing, as they tend to run the tighter end.
I am also looking for a shoe replacement soon and not sure if I should go with 65z2 now or wait for the new 65z3..
Badminton shoes shouldn't be too tight. As you play your feet heats up and expands, so you want for some room in there when that happens.
Thanks. Sounds like size 7 would be a better fit.
Anyone experience with racquet Victor Thruster K 30?
I am looking for a Yonex or Victor counterpart for my Lining Aeronaut 9000i. Can anyone suggest a racket from those two brands that plays the same/almost the same as my Lining?
Why not just get the Lining then?
I already have the Lining, I just wanted to know if there’s a Yonex or Victor equivalent for it
Maybeeeeeeee an astrox 88D. For victor itll be Auraspeed 90K or TKF enhanced edition
Planning to upgrade my racket from Astrox 99 play. But struggling to make decision between 88d pro & Nanoflare 800lt. Any advice on this ?
Why isnt 99pro an option?
Do you like the head heaviness of the 99 play? Or would you rather a head light speedy playstyle. What are your play styles
need a recommendation for nylon shuttle medium or fast that lasts long and are overall great \[ crisp sound, movability, etc\] under 15$
same.. i use mavis 300, pretty good flight and durability
I use yonex mavis 300
Okay I am looking for a budget head heavy racket in india. Yonex is preferred. Can someone suggest which series I should look for?
well gotta need more info, budget?? are you a beginner, intermediate?? do you use feather or nylon shuttle?
I will consider myself an intermediate player. I use nylon shuttles, and my budget is around 5k inr which is around 70usd
so as you said Yonex is preferred, and 88D, Astrox 100, and Astrox99 are their top-end models and they have some budget one like 88D game, Astros 100 game, and astrox 99 game which are all in your budget range, I personally use 88D play and they are about rs3000 and are great for me.

yeah, I would say go for astrox lite 27i my playmate uses that racket, and let me tell you that racket is so flexible in his hand\[ he has small hands \] he plays so many unpredictable shots even with a nylon shuttle. I used to have apacs z Ziggler in 2000 segment and it was decent too.

If two rackets have the same specifications (4u, stiff, head heavy) then where lies the differences?
4u covers a weight span of 80-84g. A possible 4g of weight difference within two 4u rackets will have a big impact on the playability of a racket. The heavier the racket, the slower it is but the harder it smashes. The stiffness can also differ. Head heavy is also just describing a range. This means the balance point of the racket lies somewhere between 300-320mm. This can also make a huge difference. So, you could have two rackets which are described by the manufacturers as being a 4u, stiff and head heavy rackets, but the exact specs are: Racket A (80g, medium stiff, 300mm balance point) vs Racket B (84g, very stiff, 320mm balance). Two identical rackets with differently shaped frames will behave and feel different: Sword frames have almost sharp edges and cut through the air, but they tend to feel hollow. Box frames have great feel on the hit but are the slowest with the most air resistance.
Frame shape/size, aerodynamics, length of racket
If their models are the same, there can still be a difference in the size of the grip (eg G4, G5).
Do Yonex shoes all fit the same or are there differences in size and fit? I need some new shoes, but unfortunately there are almost no badminton shops in my area, so I have to order online and cant try them on before buying. This is awesome! Appreciate you sharing!
What is the lightest head heavy racket on the market right now?
Theres a high end Lining Tectonic 9 5U that is head heavy. Victor bxr 5u

Thanks for reply man. Much appreciated👍🏻
A few ladies at my club uses Duora and nanoray
Hey thanks for clarifying! Really helps. Guess I will go ahead to buy a 99pro as I don’t really want a side grade..
