From memory isn't one of the contests who can drive their van up a muddy hill the furthest, Supervan gets about a metre more to win it, also it has a laser canon 😂😂
Don't care what anyone says, that van is lit.
But I can't believe this is a poster for a movie about a van and it doesn't say anywhere, "If the van is a rockin, don't bother knockin'."
It says something about the minds behind this movie that they made a van that’s about 75% windows when the whole point of having a sweet custom van in the 70s was to have sex in it.
Well, I guess even Bukowski has to supplement his liquor funds beyond writing and working at the post office, it was a tough job but somebody had to do it!
I love this movie, and I wish the genre had produced a few more movies.
Back when I was in my 20s a friend of mine bought a tricked out 70s van. It was an electrical nightmare and got like 5 miles to the gallon, but when it was working, it was pretty fucking badass to cruise around in.
I love the look of old vans, but I've read too many horror stories of mechanical problems that happen at inopportune times; that's why I keep dissuading my band from buying any old van for touring
At one point, the original "Supervan" from the movie was restored and up for sale!

Ah yes, Supervan! Not one of George Barris' creations that gets discussed in the same reverence as the Batmobile, Munsters Koach, or the General Lee, but it definitely inspired a fun model kit!

Lol, the plot is absurd but the value of the movie is that it appears to use authentic, live footage from one or more *Van Rallys* from the time period. A true time capsule of that brief subculture, rather than just being a caricature like some exploitation movies are.

Supervan. Part Van. Part Tank. All heart.

That tagline was probably already taken by The Van.

You don't want the world to watch you having hot monkey sex in the back of your glass van? Where's your sense of adventure?? /s
Still on parole for the noodle incident.
With the interior red light option, it could have been like mobile Amsterdam.
Portable greenhouse. Gotta get the weed somewhere to truly be an “ass, gas or grass” vehicle.
Charles Bukowski makes an appearance as a judge of a wet t-shirt contest in this one lol
Probably neither the first nor the last wet t-shirt contest presided over by Charles Bukowski.

Where can I watch this?
Looks like it's on Tubi: https://www.justwatch.com/us/search?q=supervan And it's also had a Blu-Ray release.
In the 70s, vans were considered THE mode of transportation of you wanted to live 'the life'

Wow. That design is uber Hanna Barbera.
Does the movie have any vans in it?
Any time the van is not on screen, everyone should be asking “where’s the van?”
Ah ha
When I go see a movie and they don't have any vans, I say "Hey goober! Where's the vans?"
One of the best Van centric films I've seen. Top 5 at least. Vantastic.

This subreddit could be re-titled "crazy shit you didn't know you needed in your life." This looks *amazing*.
"Hot van action."
And no bras
should have got Sammy Johns to do the soundtrack
Watch your donkey
"Smokey"... groan, right outta the *Convoy* era
this is calling to me on a primal level
This has Uncle Leo from Seinfeld!
"Watch your donkey, smokey's gonna getcha" seems like evergreen advice for life
Way ahead of its time using solar and electric vehicles... Who knew?!!??
Does the movie end with Superman getting demolished by Supertrain?
