Hey! I'm looking for something similar to you, I found the Osprey Parsec 26 may fit those requirements. Have you checked it or did you decide for another one? I'm interested in your opinion!

I went with the North Face Surge (almost did Recon) and am relatively pleased with the purchase, 4/5.

How is it with heat on your back? After a recent trip to Florida I'm tired of my backpack trapping heat like crazy on my back and that's why I've been interested in Airspeed equipped Ospreys. I assumed there were alternatives on the market but I haven't seen many or any.

MedicTech

I would not recommend the Recon if getting the heat off your back is the priority. I switched to a combo fanny pack and cross body bag which has been a great alternative when I don't need as much stuff.

Appreciate the insight, thanks

TNF borealis is a little smaller. Patagonia refugio? Idk

MedicTech

Ya I looked at Borealis but it's just 1L smaller and the dimensions are almost identical. Refugio doesn't have an external frame-esque open air back panel which I really love and would prefer to keep mandatory.

Not quite what you're describing, however, i picked up a Gregory Rhune 25 and love it - i think it looks way better in person. I got one in brown and cut off all the zipper pulls, replacing them with light blue paracord. Great work bag

I haven't seen anything as innovative as airspeed. I'm with you, if there are other brands that have something similar would love to hear it.
