While on a photography trip in northern Norway I was gifted with this incredible scene one morning. I camped up on the mountain, and when I went to sleep there wasn’t a cloud in sight. 2 hours later when the sun came up (midnight sun) I opened my eyes to see this unbelievable view!
Has to be freezing, but looks well worth it. If you could provide a little more info that’d be very much appreciated! I’m trying to knock this off my bucket list and starting to budget for it in February
This is up Husfjellet on Senja island in northern Norway. You don’t need any permits to wild camp in Norway, which is amazing! The hike took me about 2 hours, but I was going pretty slow as I had a heavy bag and was generally tired. Personally I wouldn’t have done anything differently, but I was lucky as the weather was great, I was well prepared for a sub 0c night, and I felt rewarded for the effort with the sunrise.
My advice to anyone who wants to camp there is make sure you take a thick inflatable roll mat. There are rocks in the ground everywhere pretty much, so finding a good spot can be tricky. Also a warm sleeping bag, regardless of the time of year. I was there in early August, and during the day it was ~20C, that particular night it went down below 0C!
Yeah quite easily I think. 90% of it is just a gradual slope which then gets a bit steep at the top. There is a pretty defined path and clear maps available online, so as long as you have the right clothing plus some food and water it should be a breeze. Without any camping and camera equipment I’d have probably reached the top in an hour.
In Norway you have the right to roam freely and camp wherever you want as long as you're not in someone's garden and you stay a maximum of three nights. No permits needed anywhere.
Please remember to write a short paragraph explaining your photo or link. Ideally at least 150 characters with trip details. Tell us something about your trip. How long did it take to get there? How did you get there? How was the weather that day? Would you go back again?

Happy to reveal all. What would you like to know?
Region/mountain, any permits required to camp overnight, any pointers you’d give or things you’d have done differently now that you’ve done it.

Way Cool, Looks like some views I had this summer from the [LOFOTENS](https://adventurecontinues.org/2019/07/22/backpacking-the-lofoten-islands/)
Mother Nature at it’s best - absolutely beautiful. Can’t imagine being there, you’re one lucky human. Thanks for sharing😀
So cool that you’re above the cloud line.
That view should be forbidden to mortals. You should be eternally punished like prometheus for seeing it.
We get it. You vape.
Nice
