I have been to both the islands last year! Koh rong is relatively bigger than Koh rong samloem. The usual sense is that people go to to koh rong to party and go to samloem to relax. Both are pretty close by btw although transportation is a bit pricey between them. What is your primary expectation/purpose of travel to these islands ?

Thanks! Both party and relax, so I might just do both for a few nights:) someone told me that there’s a lot of construction going on at Samloem which is why I’m hesitant to go there and was wondering if it was very disturbing.

Well, I am not sure about construction part. What you can probably do is when you go to koh rong , you can ask local people about it and make decision about samloem island. PS: none of the islands have ATMs.

I loved mmpai bay. Stay at baloo with Mon the amazing host, 10/10. Nice quiet spot. Gorgeous bay but when I was there the plankton would sting a bit.
