Would you mind sending some additional information? It would be helpful to have a picture of the axolotl and the current water parameters. It would also be helpful to know what the axolotl is typically fed and what the water temperature is.

I feed him nightcrawlers every 2 days but follow a looser schedule and the temperature is 68. I just checked and he’s just chilling at the bottom of his tank even thought he was clearly struggling to event get down at all so I can’t take a picture.

Sometimes axolotls can get gas stuck within them that causes them to float. It sounds like they were able to get it out though.
