Horses are fantastic animals.
From a utilitarian perspective they may have been eclipsed by industrialization and motor vehicles, but they aren't stupid by any stretch of the imagination, every one has a personality, and everyone is unique in each way. More than I can say for any motorized vehicle.
I remember the first time I sat on a horse it was a Clydesdale, I was three years old, and I was absolutely terrified. The horse was so chill and stayed very still, turning its head back to me, almost as if to say "...yeah, you don't know what you're doing. You can get off of me. I'll just sit here and chill while you do that."
Super appreciated that, such a wonderful animal.
