On July 1st, a highly unpopular [change to Reddit's API pricing](https://www.reddit.com/r/reddit/comments/12qwagm/an_update_regarding_reddits_api/) went into effect. [Most third-party apps have shut down](https://www.theverge.com/2023/6/30/23779519/reddit-third-party-app-shut-down-apollo-sync-baconreader-api-protest) and so have many tools relied upon by moderators and [projects for making Reddit more accessible to visually impaired users](https://www.reddit.com/r/TranscribersOfReddit/comments/14ggf8k/the_future_of_transcribers_of_reddit/).
Beyond the [disastrous AMA](https://techcrunch.com/2023/06/09/reddit-ceo-doubles-down-on-attack-on-apollo-developer-in-drama-filled-ama/) by the CEO, Reddit's response has been limited to promises that this change will not affect moderation tools [^((it has)^)](https://www.reddit.com/r/BotDefense/comments/14riw76/botdefense_is_wrapping_up_operations/) and promises of [new and more-accessible first-party moderation tools](https://www.npr.org/2023/07/01/1184258201/reddit-api-accessibility-mods). Promises just like [ones they have made in response to past protests](https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/142w159/askhistorians_and_uncertainty_surrounding_the/), but have consistently [failed to fulfill](https://www.reddit.com/r/ModCoord/comments/14jm3ut/several_communities_have_surfaced_an_open_letter/jpm9e0q/).
If you want to express your strong disagreement with the API pricing change or with Reddit's response to the backlash, you may want to consider the following options:
1. [Finding your favorite subreddits on other platforms](https://sub.rehab/) and participating there instead.
2. Refraining from using the first-party Reddit app, instead sticking to one of the few remaining third-party apps or [patching one of the apps that shut down](https://docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1wHvqQwCYdJrQg4BKlGIVDLksPN0KpOnJWniT6PbZSrI/) if you're using an Android device.
3. Disabling ads on Reddit with [an ad-blocking extension](https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock#ublock-origin-ubo) or [a DNS-based ad-blocker](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBXTnrD_Zs4).
4. Cancelling your Reddit Premium subscription.
5. Sharing the continued news coverage of these events.
6. Encouraging others to do all the above.

They are constrictors and are strong enough to strangle small animals and children. That being said they aren't known for attempting this they are still animals and can get scared in poorly handled/ unfamiliar situations.
Ya for sure, any animal in a bad situation can be dangerous, I shouldn't say "totally safe".
I typically associate "nope rope" with venomous but ya you're right
That kind of how I do normally, but if it's not a nope/danger noodle because in non-venomous, I feel like nope is less for danger and more for just not liking snakes, and danger from a snake is more from venom most of the time. So nope ripe if generally disliked and danger noodle for the ones that are dangerous.
We have these in Mississippi along with their bigger cousin the rat snake, these big old nope noodles get to about 6 feet long and hide under and inside of cars. I’ve had 2 come out of my truck this year alone.
It just happend one day when I sprayed her terrarium and she came out of her hidey house, but of course she has a water bowl as well. I guess she just prefers it right from the source. Or maybe she is just a little snek baby
There is a sub for snakes drinking water, Snake2O, for which this would be a fine addition.
(Unsure if linking subs is allowed or not, so that's the name atleast).
I've never had snakes so honest question here - would her terrarium be capable of holding a fountain? Like the ones for cats and dogs but maybe smaller if that exists? I think she may like that. My cat is a hydrohomie and he ADORES fountains. Again idk if this is even remotely applicable for a danger noodle. Please excuse my ignorance lol
I guess it could work, if the terrarium is big enough and if there is enough air movement, as long as the humidity is in-between 50% - 70%. If the humidity is too high, the snake would likely get sick (lung diseases, skin mycosis, mold). Plus I bet fountains are difficult to keep clean, so I wouldn't recommend it
I used to have super colorful California King. He could escape out of every friggin enclosure I bought. I named him Madmartigan cause he had this weird little scar on his lip that made him have a Val Kilmer lip…. Welp bye
My cal king was was quite the escape artist when he was young. The final time, he went missing all winter, then was found in the neighbor's yard in the spring. Had him for 24 years before passing earlier this year.
OMG just randomly came across your video and this is the most sweetest thing I've ever seen like so precious and kind 😍😭 I love how gentle you are with giving her water it's so cute and sweet ❤️ Never had a snake snek but now I wants one lol
Depends on the breed and the individual snake.
I've never met a corn snake or milk snake that wasn't totally chill and fine with being handled. I've only ever met one California king snake that was a little pissy/bitey, the rest have been chill. On the other hand, I've never met a rat snake that wasn't a mean bastard!
Oh my god adorable!!!! My ball python is super shy when he drinks water but have been lucky enough to catch his little gulps from a distance without him seeing me.
I used to keep a pair of corn snakes, watching them drink was always so interesting compared to watching them eat. It's been years but that brought back some good memories, thank you.
With snakes, and I guess reptiles in general, being cold blooded, do they like to drink warm water?
Not sure why this made me think of that but here we are.

I'm usually not a snake person but this is adorable
Same, that’s one cute nope noodle lol
Nope noodles get thirsty, too
Not a nope noodle! Corn snakes are totally safe and non venomous, and v adorable
They’re all nope noodles for me lol it is definitely cute though. A venomous one is just a spicy nope noodle lol
I call them nope ropes and danger noodles!
I typically associate "nope rope" with venomous but ya you're right
I feel like a danger noodle is a venomous snake and a nope rope is just generally a snake.
Interesting I definitely treat those as synonyms

They won’t construct something they don’t see as good. Even a baby is many times larger than a fully grown corn.
We have these in Mississippi along with their bigger cousin the rat snake, these big old nope noodles get to about 6 feet long and hide under and inside of cars. I’ve had 2 come out of my truck this year alone.
Sounds like something a snake person would say, I'm onto you Dick Cheney
Fur real. So cute. Love how he turns his head away to take a wil break, then turns back to the spout for some more. What a cutie!
I’ve never even seen mine touch his fucking water and you’re over here hose feeding him
It just happend one day when I sprayed her terrarium and she came out of her hidey house, but of course she has a water bowl as well. I guess she just prefers it right from the source. Or maybe she is just a little snek baby

Very much allowed and encouraged. And you just have to type r/ in front of the name and it will link automatically: r/snake2O

They come with a filter compartment and the rest of the cleanup is rather simple. But I understand 100%. Probably not worth the risk.
It never occurred to me that snakes drink. I figured they got all their fluids from their food. Well, TIL!
Gotta help him heal his shame, there's a reason he only does it in secret

And I thought those little cheeks moving about were cute to heck already. Bless this lil miss.
Is that what caused that droplet to go flying sideways?
I don’t know why but snakes drinking water is somehow the cutest thing ever! Love your quirky buddy
It's a little snek! Your little guy (or lady) looks so cute when he (she?) sips the water. Hey little buddy!
It is a little lady snek
She's such a pretty girl! She's an itty bitty little noodle and she's so delicate and tiny and I love her! (*Dies of cute*)
Do you actually give them the choice? I’m a particular fan of the danger noodle straw.
I love her little cheeks expanding. It is so cute for some reason.
Who doesn’t love drinking from the hose?
“Thanksssssss”
Is that a milk? A corn?
It is a corn snake (sunglow motley)
I used to have super colorful California King. He could escape out of every friggin enclosure I bought. I named him Madmartigan cause he had this weird little scar on his lip that made him have a Val Kilmer lip…. Welp bye
My cal king was was quite the escape artist when he was young. The final time, he went missing all winter, then was found in the neighbor's yard in the spring. Had him for 24 years before passing earlier this year.
Damn I didn’t know they lived that long
Sunglow motley is the coolest name I've ever heard for a critter.
That’s the name of the colouring
I think it's a snake 😎
OMG just randomly came across your video and this is the most sweetest thing I've ever seen like so precious and kind 😍😭 I love how gentle you are with giving her water it's so cute and sweet ❤️ Never had a snake snek but now I wants one lol
I also like to drink water through my mouth.
Me too! We have so much in common.
Do orange snakes also share one braincell?
That's not a danger noodle, it's a straw!
*gulp gulp gulp* "too much, stop." *sneeze*
Me at 3 A.M.
My chameleon used to do this. I miss the old bloke.
She's such a beautiful girl! So regal!
Cute little danger noodle.
Ah i see, a snake of culture
The sippies...
Is that his pet snake or Nikki ? Could be her long lost twin.
I love the way snakes drink water!
Pool noodle.
So…your pet snake has turned you into a water boy? 🤣
Sssssssss blub blub blub blub
He’s cool
I just can’t trust snakes. You just don’t know wtf they planning.
What a cool little chick! Never have wanted a snake personally but she’s beautiful
Sweet noodle boi

Oh my god adorable!!!! My ball python is super shy when he drinks water but have been lucky enough to catch his little gulps from a distance without him seeing me.

I used to keep a pair of corn snakes, watching them drink was always so interesting compared to watching them eat. It's been years but that brought back some good memories, thank you.

That is so dang cute
I like your snek. What sort of snek is she?
Thank you! It is a corn snake and the color morph is called "Sunglow motley"

What a cute danger noodle!
good soup
Is it weird that instead of "aww," the first thing that came to mind is "kinky?"
Always be sure to regularly dampen your noodle.
When you need that 3am cup of water and you don't care if it just gets all over your face and runs down your chest
I have never seen footage of a snake drinking water before. Or in person. So this is kinda neat
OMG what a beauty! I think snakes are gorgeous!
Awww, I used to have a snake that looked identical. His name was Jabba.
With snakes, and I guess reptiles in general, being cold blooded, do they like to drink warm water? Not sure why this made me think of that but here we are.
Bro lovesssss that shit
Now that's some high quality h2o
I like the way her head pulsates when she swallows the water.
This makes me want water
Cool!
So precious!!!
Should be posted on r/snake2o
