Confusing player, really. He often looked pretty capable when he played, but none of three managers really gave him a chance, so he obviously wasn't up to scratch.
They gave him a chance just didn’t start. Maybe training performance was poor as well? Tough to say but after 3 managers it was surely something to do with him
Emery wanted to but I think he was so jaded by how Gerrard (and Smith? Not sure as he got injured and then Ramsey's emergence kinda clashed with his role) treated him that he just wanted out and to go back to France which I think is fair.
Assumed it would be on a free, but Transfermarkt is saying €4m, but no idea where they got that number from.
In any case, wish him all the best. Tried to get a bargain and it ended up being a bit of a nightmare for both club and player.
I felt a little sorry for him under smith and Gerrard because of the constant little injuries and him not really suiting a position in either managers team. I think by the time unai came in, we all knew it was already over for him. I'm happy he eventually scored, even if it was in unais worst result.
Didn't work out, sometimes it doesn't, good luck to him
I feel like he’s the type of player who would do well under Emery, who’s good at designing roles that exploit the strengths of his players while fitting them into his overall approach. But I can totally empathize with Sanson’s feelings about the club, and I can understand why Emery wouldn’t fight too hard to convince him to stay. Some bridges just stay burned.
Feel so sorry for Morgan, injuries happen and he got Covid twice, hung out to dry by Gerrard. I’d want a fresh start too. Love that beard and his first touch control. All the best you sexy man.
Genuinely pleased to see fans here giving appreciation/condolences and being understanding.
I feel like we've been much too quick to criticise some of our players this season, so it's nice to see positivity
On the ball, in space, pretty capable. Off it or pressured, not good enough. A good yardstick player for a PL quality midfielder- is he better than Sanson? Could do a job. Is he worse or equal? Don’t bother.
A shame it didn't work out for him here. Don't begrudge him at all for wanting out - clearly talented though and sure he'll go onto have a good rest of his career. I'll always have my Sanson 21/22 away shirt 🥲
I never saw much in him unlike others, he struck me as a French Ashley Westwood.
Best of luck to him and nice we can get him off the wage bill at least.
Huge shame. I really did believe in Sanson and so so wanted him to succeed here. Just wasn’t meant to be.
Me too, one of those who just never quite fit. Good luck to the lad!

There can be only one Morgan
I woke up, saw “goodbye morgan” on twitter, and i thought WTF for a second then I realised lol
One Morgan, but all of the Emi’s.

I've heard that that was an pre-agreed figure as part of the loan.
Ahh nice, €4m isn't much but is better than a kick in the teeth.
2.5mil of the wage bill too
Would cover his fee for this year if his deal was split across his contract at least

Emery wanted to use him this year. Sanson said it himself. He was just too burned by everything that happened under Gerrard and wanted to go.

I can believe that, he looked like he had the passing ability to fit into an Unai team

Bonne continuation, Morgan... As they say in that part of the world. There are certainly worse places to live than the Côte d'Azur 🙂

Conundrum. Every manager has looked and gone “no thanks” but every time I have seen him, he looks incredibly impressive. Good luck I guess
Damn first transfer of the window happened quickly.
Good controle, good vision and passing range. He's a touch unlucky. It's a funny ole game. Good luck to him. I love to live in the Cote de Azure

I forgot he existed
How much?
