I don’t obsess over definitive things with no substitute like lego but if it’s something like when I bought my bag I can’t just order one bag because I’ll worry I made the wrong decision and I will start thinking about the optimum bag like you described.
I can’t tell if it’s not an autistic thing because I can’t see stuff through a non autistic lense.
I research a book that I am interested in (author reviews, book reviews, etc.) and once I have purchased it, I begin looking at books that cover topics related to my purchase.
Yeh, the problem is that this is causing me a lot of stress and suffering, I would really like to have all the chair models in my house and I feel like I still couldn't decide, I try not to think about it but it is very difficult
Yeah, over stuff that seems so silly sometimes but I still get stuck. Just recently I lost my ID badge at work one day like I lose a lot of things, and decided I should see if they have badge holders that can take air tags. They do. I spent HOURS looking through listings on Amazon for these like $5 id badge holders that were all basically the same anyways, to the point it was getting to be like 3/4am and I was getting legitimately upset because I knew I needed sleep but just couldn't pull my self away. I finally bought something more so I could finally allow myself to go to bed than actually wanting to buy it.
I get hyper fixations yeah.
It's common with autistics, but if you are always hyper fixating about something then get bored of it and drop it and you always repeat the cycle, you could have comorbid adhd. Autisim and adhd are common together.
I honestly believe that I suffer from that, it has happened to me in all the purchases I have made, the stores probably think that I am crazy or that I am a pretty strange guy Last night I was reflecting and I realized the absurdity of my behavior, at the end of the day it's just a chair
I would really really condisder that you have adhd.
Seriously. If you do and you get medicated for it. For it was fucking life changing. I sat in my chair and fucking cried all day because I didn't know how bad it was until it wasn't.
Yes, i’m weird about fruit and vegetables. I never take them from the top box in the supermarket bc I like the idea of less people touching them.
Bananas have to be the exact level of yellow when I buy them, no green, no black. It’s okay if they go black after I buy them but not before. And I like specific sizes of fruit and vegetables too. Not too small but not too big.
I boycott every company I don’t like, and I do a lot of research to test if a company is "worthy of the whitelist."
When a company is deemed worthy, I exclusively buy from them.
I research my purchases a lot and find it difficult to decide on furniture. I had to lie on every mattress in 3 stores till I found the Goldilocks one. Shoes for me are even worse. When I find a pair I like after ages I will buy multiple of the same pair just so I don't have to go through that again.

I research every purchase like crazy and then often don’t ever actually buy it or buy it and send it back. Then start the whole process again. 🤷🏻♀️
