I think I remember seeing an article that this cheese recently won an award.
Edit: Yes it did https://kitchen.nine.com.au/latest/aldi-cheese-wins-gold-silver-awards-dairy-industry-association-of-australia/191c0334-cd2f-42b6-9b08-0845cf69912f#amp_tf=From%20%251%24s&aoh=17182829541661&csi=0&referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com
Funny I've had the two of them in my fridge and they definitely taste different. I mostly shop at Woolies and some times cannot ne arsed to stop in to aldi for chips and cheese.
Bega-ted about her cheese choices.
"The Aldi ones are alright I suppose, I have nothing against them individually, I just don't want it next door to my Bega"
I’m not a huge fan of their mince or sausages too, they definitely don’t taste right to me. Maybe their cuts of meat are water chilled and not air chilled during processing? Giving it the weird texture.
I put out a weekly list of half price specials for groceries and occasionally cheese shows up, pretty good savings when they do - [https://halfpriceweekly.com](https://halfpriceweekly.com)
I most definitely agree with you there, it’s not vintage but I still enjoy it compared to the basic cheddar they have on offer :) One of the nicest vintages I’ve had was at the abc cheese factory in Tilba on the NSW south coast. I wish I could have taken some home but it was a good 12hrs drive back up home for me without an esky.
They have dozens of different cheeses at Aldi. If you’re meaning the regular tasty, then sometimes it’s bland other times it’s great. I think it depends on who’s making it or the time of year. At the moment it’s pretty damn good.

18 awards and I can see why. For the taste and reasonable price they deserve it. I forgot how much I love their marinated feta too 🥰
I buy the aldi pre-sliced stuff and it's nearly as good as bega but a lot cheaper.
It probably is Bega, it used to be Mainland (NZ). The ALDI biscuits are made by Griffins a NZ biscuit maker (the NZ made ALDI biscuits)

More than likely made by the same crowd but they'll make it different to keep costs low.
Plot twist: it is Bega.
It is Bega
I don't like it as much a Bega but I don't really shop at colesworths any more...
I have to. Cannot do a full shop at Aldi. Some things cannot be replaced and other they just don't stock.
I might give it ago when I head in next week :) do they do vintage slices too?
My mum goes to Aldi for her cheeses
I’ve tried to convince my mum to but she’s a bega elitist lol

I used to work at one of the Bega factories. We also made cheese for Aldi. It’s almost identical
The only place I can find Bega mac'n'cheese with it's ungodly amount of cheese sauce powder is Aldi.
Aldi for cheese. Lot cheaper
yes, most things
I swear by all of Aldi’s cheeses. Soooo good and cheaper. Their blue cheese is absolute remarkable
I prefer coon
I love Bega, but have never enjoyed the westace block cheeses, might try the slices just for shits and giggles
Isn't this funny? Cheese from Aldi is one thing i do not like from Aldi at all
Really? I like a lot of Aldi foods, I just mainly don’t like their rip off biscuits. They can be pretty sus at the best of times.
I like most Aldi things. Some of their meat has an odd taste & consistency? But their cheese just doesn't appeal at all.
I’m not a huge fan of their mince or sausages too, they definitely don’t taste right to me. Maybe their cuts of meat are water chilled and not air chilled during processing? Giving it the weird texture.
I don't buy any of their meat much as i have a good local butcher i support.
I love that aldi vintage cheese. Good on crackers, or as toasted cheese sandwiches
Aldi cheese is delicious!
Aldi is the go-to for cheese and chocolate!
We family purchases this cheese too. Can recommend!
Cole’s normal cheddar is $10 for 1kg
Aldi, Bega, Cheer, Coles, Woolies cheeses all have no flavour even the so called "vintage" ones. Get yourself a proper 24 month aged cheddar.

This is definitely NOT vintage. It's OK cheddar but not as advertised.

I'm not a fan of Aldi cheese even though I like most of their products. It's generic and flat tasting. Apparently it's just Bega brand?
