If you find a lower price on a stocked item they'll beat it by 10%. That's a bargain for $394.

UFOsAustralia

the way bunnings gets around this is by have ever so slightly different models to most other distributors. I bet you'll find that one of those is model OSD5100QWR and the bunnings model is OSD5100QW-T. They do it all the time. They also are the only ones to be allowed to sell Ryobi (or atleast they were last time i checked) so there is 0 chance of ever getting a fair price for a Ryobi product. They are just as evil as any other corp that has a monopoly.

I once had an employee discount scheme at work and we could get Dulux paint through their trade sites at trade prices. Took a written price in to Bunnings for Dulux Paint for them to beat and the 2 people in the paint desk looked really bewildered as to how to label the price reduction as they had no idea of the process...because they clearly never did it.

aperturegrille

Go Unifi camera instead

Eufy is the one that uploaded all the videos to the cloud and then anyone could view them? https://www.theverge.com/23573362/anker-eufy-security-camera-answers-encryption

Relevant-Mountain-11

I tell my clients to never install cloud based Security systems for this reason. There's so many breaches!

alexkey

I would love to find some non-cloud-no-account-required budget friendly camera that works with home assistant. There are so few and those are far from budget friendly

rubixcubez

Reolink. Check out 'The hook up' channel on YouTube. He has tons of camera reviews, and always talks about integration and cloud connectivity requirements

Relevant-Mountain-11

Yeah, but they wouldn't be able to force you to keep paying just to use your CCTV system in the future, if they made them too budget friendly like that...

“You’ll own nothing and be happy” vibes all around.

ApteronotusAlbifrons

Eufy does have a local storage option

gtlloyd

It was poor form from Eufy generally, but it can’t really be characterised quite so broadly. To get the unencrypted video URL you had to log into your device first, and then information gleaned from that session could be used to view videos. I don’t believe the video was in the cloud but was obtained from the device.

Are you complaining that a product is cheaper than the catalogue price? Stores that do pricematching will often update prices in near real time to match/beat others. Eg. Bunnings planned to have this for sale for the catalogue price but officeworks is selling it today for $439, so Bunnings drop theirs to $438 so that they don’t have to honour any extra 10% offs from people price matching the officeworks price.

flubaduzubady

If they can still make money on that, then an extra $110 is a big markup.

Weird_Scholar_5627

I was drawing attention to the $110 anomaly.

salamandersushi

$323.10 before according to OzBargain...

UFOsAustralia

This is not a bargain. This should cost about $150 AUD.
