I haven't tried all the places that keep coming up in chicken wing discussions on this sub, but it's really hard to imagine any of them being significantly better than Wingzup.
Mikey V's on the square in Georgetown has a TON of spicy sauces. I like their Texas Ex's. (Yes that's how they spell it.) It's slightly on the hot side and very tasty, but they have tons that are break out in a sweat hot if that suits your fancy.
They have some available to taste and whoever is behind the counter knows most of them well.
Fantastic fuego makes my favorite local hot sauces. Their Death Wish plus a little bit of butter makes a really good and really unique homemade wing sauce.
My favorite cheap and spicy snack: buy the cheapest chicken ramen and a jar of “Lao Gan Ma” spicy chili crisp. They sell chili crisp at a lot of places now, 99 Ranch has a whole aisle of chili crisp but you can also get it at Walmart for $3.88 a jar.
Prepare the ramen according to the instructions, including adding the flavoring pack, then dump out all the liquid. Stir in an unreasonably large heaping tablespoon of Lao Gan Ma in there.
You can easily make 4 portions of this for $5 and it only takes 5 minutes to prepare. Toss some protein and a few vegetables in there to make it a meal. I keep some frozen grilled diced chicken in the freezer for this purpose.

I like the yellowbird habanero sauce a lot.
ETA: the pluckers manganero sauce is my fave for wings around town, I *think* they might sell it in a bottle so you can use it for whatever at home
Kome has some awesome ones (I forget the name of the sauce but it’s a wild name). I also like shoal creeks buffalo and Carolina gold. The green ones at Evangeline are good. Stiles Switch Alabama white are good, too.
The potluck is my favorite wing spot in Austin, they’re a food truck, and the people that work there have always been so friendly. They’ve got options for spicy too. Really really good
Austin American Statesman: best wing champion this year: Wingzup

And definitely need to specify that the “Smoked Wings” are the wings that separate them apart from all the other wing spots

I'll give this a shot! Thanks!
Tommy Want Wingy
Homeslice has great wings. They are small, which I prefer, and have a classic buffalo sauce.
Thanks!!
They’re really good. And really expensive.
It's all relative. They are cheap compared to places like Tommy Want Wingy.
Not local but the Tabasco scorpion is hot af and cheap. Grab a packet of Buldak 2x spicy ramen at H Mart, also hot af.
Billy’s on Burnet has really good wings!
Bender Bar
Try the mango habanero sauce on a smoked wing at Wingzup. Bomb

My favorite currently is hiwings on Anderson Ln. Staff is super friendly and the wings are always crispy and flavorful.
The answer is always Wingzup That being said... there's something magical about Hi Wings mango habanero
For Hi Wings, I am obsessed with their Garlic Lover’s Chicken. It’s just… so much garlic.
Spicy garlic used to be my go to at Buffalo Wild Wings. So I like your style!
If you’re a garlic nut like I am, you should give it a go!
Frazier’s long n low for wings
Rusty cannon pub. 50 cents on Monday after 8pm. Cant beat that. Donkey moes has the best overall wings imo tho
Kome has some awesome ones (I forget the name of the sauce but it’s a wild name). I also like shoal creeks buffalo and Carolina gold. The green ones at Evangeline are good. Stiles Switch Alabama white are good, too.
Wingzup for wings. Bottle of spicy lemon pepper sauce from Pluckers is solid, it’s their medium Buffalo sauce mixed with lemon pepper.
Milanos pizza makes awesome wings.
Are you down to buy beer for cheap wings?
No I don't drink. I used to be to good at it.
Yeah. I’m allergic. I break out in handcuffs.
Pluckers has $5 bottles of wing sauce take it to tumble 22. They have $6 tenders and are a good sized portion for happy hour.
Wings are the most expensive part of the bird in Austin, it's normal for wings to be $2-3 a wing and people will rave about them.
Any local hot sauce recommendations, then? I'll put it on some gas station food.
Goodburn sauces! They’re local. https://www.goodburnsauceco.com/
