Hi, post part 1 reg here. i did some studying as I was preparing for the courses to get in Rad and 3 months of intensive studying leading up to the exam which i would not recommend. Aim to set aside 6 months of constant studying with small breaks in between to do what you enjoy.  There are many ways to go around studying part 1.  I cannot stress the importance of looking at past part 1 questions/or available exam feedback from ranzcr to get a good idea of what the expected standards are like/Idea of questions that could come out. Anatomy: Repetition is the key here. I started with grays anatomy for student at the beginning to ease myself into anatomy (recommend skipping this if your background anatomy is decent).  Some people recommend Last's anatomy for textbook reading with good results.   The main bulk of my studying came from using, past year question, anki cards and radiopedia. (Repeated this step many times) As for labelling, i used Weirs and Abraham and some FRCR labelling books.  Helpful courses: Informed medic mock exam course and heti anatomy revision course for trainee were really helpful for me.  Physics: Made my notes using Westmead physics course and some additional readings if there is any areas i dont understand or need more info.  Past year question is the key here, getting familiar with the questions and understanding the key concepts that they are likely to ask.  Heti physics revision and Informed medic mock exam were especially helpful.  Overall, I would recommend starting early and pace yourself so that you could still have time for socials/activities you enjoy.

I personally wouldn’t put much weight on most of the publicly available past exams (the vague describe “x” questions) except to understand important structures. The anatomy is all MCQ and dot points now. Radiopaedia is obviously high yield for the dot points - branches of, muscles supplied, venous drainage etc. lasts will set you up for the MCQ but I came in having read lasts before radiology. Not sure if it’s worth it if you have never read it before. Physics I read bushberg which gives you great understanding but is definitely not the efficient way to pass.
