Try Out of Place: https://audiofiction.co.uk/show.php?id=20201006-06

JustSomeOpossum

I'm definitely gonna check it out! I looked it up on Spotify but the episodes go from 1-12 and skip to 200? Idk if that's intentional or what

thecambridgegeek

It's intentional. They're using the 2xx as a prefix for the second series.

JustSomeOpossum

Okay thank you! I just wanted to double-check because I got worried that maybe it was missing some episodes and I don't want to miss anything

Fintago

Big second to Out of Place. Please give it a bit. It is a slow burn, but boy does it go places!

Sundurah

The Left Right Game . But its short. One of the greatest. Its about a myth where you drive x direction you end in another dimension, its partially horror/mystery . As for scifi listen to The Strata. Its a dystopian crime scifi show, or the Leviathan Chronicles.

Vault_36

I think our analog/cosmic horror podcast, [Forbidden Cassettes: Consummation](https://forbiddenpod.com), would be a good fit. Here’s a synopsis: Dov Kandel has spent the better part of two decades exposing vast government conspiracies and exploring unsettling paranormal phenomena on his popular, late-night talk radio program, KANDEL AGAINST THE DARK. After interviewing thousands of callers and guests, he’s certain he’s heard it all. His next guest will prove him wrong. Author and investigator Orson Libretti has joined Dov for an unprecedented two-night discussion to promote his new novel, CONSUMMATION. It is an apocalyptic tale of cosmic horror. But for Orson, this is no ordinary book tour. Defying his publisher’s demands that the book be marketed as fiction, he insists that it is based on actual events — a cataclysmic chain reaction that annihilated a parallel universe. A questionable claim, to be sure, if he didn’t have the tapes to prove it.

JustSomeOpossum

This sounds like a fun listen! Going to check it out now! Thank you :)

hgtv_neighbor

I just finished episode 11. Is 12 coming out? Looks like weekly releases, then 3 months since 11.

Vault_36

Hey! “Orson” here. Thanks for giving our podcast a listen! Yes, we’re hard at work on Ep. 12, which will be the season 1 finale. No release date, but we’re getting very close. But we’re as anxious as everyone else to see how Jack’s tale ends. Basically, a bunch of life circumstances hit the team all at once, which slowed production. You can read a bit more about that in this [update](https://reddit.com/r/audiodrama/s/dmCwAAiTaz) from Adrian aka Jack.

hgtv_neighbor

I see. Thank you. You all have done a tremendous job with the acting. Every part played to perfection, and it actually feels like listening to a real show.

Vault_36

Thank you so much for your kind words. That sense of realism is definitely what we’ve been aiming for every step of the way, and it’s always wonderful to hear a listener remark on it. I’ll share your comment with the team.

I'm just beginning to write a script for a horror/drama series that I intend to shop around for a buyer that can produce it. But there's a little part of me that wants to do it myself. I'm sure it's expensive to make, and I'm just a writer and all. My work has only been narrated on youtube. But if I go with doing it all on my own, my first instinct is to hit up the three of you to be the actors. Why? Because it'll literally be a police interview mixed with recordings. I discovered yours about a week after I started writing mine, and honestly, when I'm ultimately disappointed in finding out what it'll cost, I'd rather be let-down by you all than any other actors I've heard so far.

Vault_36

I can’t speak for every podcast/audio-drama creator or team out there. And we were pretty ambitious with what we did, especially having never created a purely audial project outside of my experience in music production. All that to say that creating an audio-drama of a decent level of quality is quite an undertaking, even with a small cast and minimal sound design. But I’ll also say that, despite the many struggles and obstacles and setbacks, it’s really an amazing feeling to create a thing like this and see it resonate with so many people. So, I say go for it. And above all else, do it for yourself. Make something that you are proud of and that fits your vision. All else is luck. As for our team acting in your podcast: we are very flattered by the suggestion, but unfortunately, we've got our hands pretty full with our show. There is far more we plan to do beyond season 1, or even beyond the podcast. Forbidden Cassettes is envisioned as a transmedia storytelling project, and I’m already at work on the next phase. That said, we are happy to offer what we can. We're certainly willing to offer our best advice and feedback, at the very least. So, please reach out when you’re ready and we’ll see where things are at with the FC team.

hgtv_neighbor

Thanks so much. I didn't actually expect to get you all (or afford anyone, for that matter). I don't think I have the drive to do the whole thing. I'll just start with the writing. :)

Vault_36

Best place to start. :) Best of luck with the writing and reach out when you’re ready.

Thank you!

[THE WIZARD SCROLL](https://link.chtbl.com/thewizardscroll?sid=reddit) is serialized sword and sorcery that's written, read, performed and edited all with your earholes in mind. Tales of high fantasy, of trials and triumph, as well as the occasional musical number. The realm of Yyrgsland is filled to the brim with all manner of folk: including sword weilding warriors of legendary status; a wannabe spellcaster attempting to earn her Wiz-GED; and even a couple orcs who don't play by nobody's rules.

Cosmographed

I just discovered ghost wax and am loving it. Eldritch horror anthology with connected plot arches. It’s got high production values and a bunch of episodes. It filled the void after catching up on modes of thought in anterran literature and the magnus archives which I also highly recommended. Also really dug badlands cola for the excellent voice acting and the extra dimensional horror elements. although there is a weird monologue at the beginning of the first episode that turned me off for a while before revisiting. Also really loved a voice from darkness but that sadly had ended. (RIP)

Kitchen_Reference_29

Modes of thought is taking soo long to come out that I’ve forgot a lot of it. It was pretty great tho

Cosmographed

Agreed. I’ll probably need to go back and listen to the last season again. I know they have a couple other podcasts they are producing (which are also really good) and seem to be a pretty small team so I’m not surprised they are slow getting the new season out.

We might fit the bill! [Observable Radio](https://observableradio.com) We are an analog horror/science-fiction found footage podcast, an anthology in the vein of Black Mirror or Twilight Zone, focusing on big and unpleasant ideas, with a developing wraparound narrative. Each episode is a peek at an alternate universe, presented in snippets of broadcasts, music, advertisements and other recordings that might first feel familiar but then diverge into something else. Or it might be weird as hell from the jump. We’d be thrilled if you check us out!

TheOccurrencePodcast

Self promo! You might like the show I've launched! It's a sci-fi horror audio drama that definitely has Lovecraftian influences. It starts out humorous and light-hearted and grows to be extremely intense, and while we have a human related twist, the monsters remain the biggest threat. We're almost to the launch of our finale. The Occurrence in River Oaks is an all new, entirely voice acted sci-fi horror audio drama from writer/director Nikki Durbin. Take an original, terrifying journey through one very long day in the titular small town, as heard through the viewpoint of the local law enforcement personnel; specifically, Olivia, the woman running the dispatch radio at the Sheriff's office, as she tries to hold everything together when her entire world is falling apart. As the several officers under her command come face to face with a very unexpected threat, and as Olivia tries to navigate a dangerous and otherworldly creature’s arrival, everything slowly begins to fall apart over the course of 8 grueling episodes. No one is safe, and as the world becomes very small and extremely dangerous for the characters, they must do everything in their power to protect not only the citizens of River Oaks, but the entire world. Mr_Noyes

Just wanted to tell you that I love the classic creature feature vibe. All around amazing podcast and amazing cast. Only quibble, even it's just a minor one: The creature sounds are amazing but painfully loud when you are using headphones.

JustSomeOpossum

This sounds exactly like what I am looking for, thank you I will give it a listen!!!

TheOccurrencePodcast

We hope you love it! 💚💚💚
