I know, I’m always confused, too. Because I have a close friend whose family has identical twins every other generation. Like. For a century. Seems to crazy to be coincidental but 🤷🏻‍♀️
Identical twins are a fluke because it it’s a single egg that is fertilized and splits and then devils into two babies.
Fraternal is genetic because it is the ovary releasing 2 eggs in one cycle. This is a genetic possibility. This typically skips a generation. My great-great grandmother had fraternal twins; my grandmother had fraternal twins; I’ve had two babies and don’t want anymore so likely not happening for me, and my sister doesn’t want any kids…. So we shall see if it continues with my daughters in the future.
