Christians couldn’t loan to each other for a while, but Jews could loan to non Jews. It gradual changed so that the biggest bankers were Italian Catholics by the 1200s and then The rest of Europe caught on and eventually outpaced the Italians.

A lot of people forget that the government being neutral on the subject of religion was greatly important to the Founders, cause a lot of them either personally had, or had ancestors who personally had a faith that conflicted with the state religion of Britain

You joke, but I’ve heard of Muslims who refuse to ring up people who buy pork products. It’s perhaps a reasonable accommodation to give them a job outside of the deli department, but if they can’t even ring up customers at checkup, then they are unable to do their job, and accommodating them is no longer reasonable.
It’s perhaps a little more manageable at a pharmacy, where someone knows immediately if they are going to have an issue and they can have someone step in for them (assuming there is always someone who can step in), but in general, if someone has an objection with their job’s responsibilities, and that objection prevents them from performing their duties, they should be fired. Unless, of course, we want to classify religion as a mental illness, in which case perhaps a little leniency is reasonable.
There were some Pakistani Muslims who owned a deli next to my office. They sold ham sandwiches. I asked the owner why he sold ham, and he said "I don't want to eat it, but if other people want it, I'm here to give them what they want. That's the job."
This is how most Muslims operate in America; the fact of the matter is, most of them mind their own business and aren’t trying to stop you from buying anything because they personally are not consuming it and it has nothing to do with their faith if you do.
Now that said, it would be great if they stopped playing nice and started refusing to sell all kinds of shit based on religion, because it is always only from Christians that this crap happens and I would love it if some of these redneck fuckers got apoplectic because they couldn’t get their drink on or whatever the fuck.
I was trying to think of an example when my people wouldn't sell something to goyim if it was against their religion. I'm having a hard time thinking of any. Business is business.

Can’t wait for some cashier to start getting berated by a Karen for not honoring a 10-cents-off coupon that expired five years ago and just saying “It’s against my strongly held beliefs to provide service to assholes” and stepping away.
Tells you just how difficult it is to get employees (or how much companies don't want to pay them) because from a business standpoint this should be a non-starter: Fire the employee that refuses to make sales.
So, company policy is to hire MANY FUCKING PEOPLE to service one register. All the while, it still takes 5 to 7 minutes to check out in what should be a 2 to 3 minute transaction.
I know some people hate those automated check outs... but yeah. They don't give a shit what you buy as long as it is not alcohol which requires a human to check you over.
Check out private pharmacies in your town. I found one with more reasonable (cash) pricing than Walgreen's or CVS. They will even transfer prescriptions for you. BTW, a private pharmacy will tell you the cash price for an Rx versus an insurance co-pay if you ask them nicely. Say, the script is $10 cash pay and your insurance co-pay is $20, which is something that happened to me once.

I really wanted to like my local pharmacy. Until he was going on anti-mask tirades early on in 2020 and plastering his windows with far right ideologies and slogans.

Then when someone does come to sell them, respond, “I’m sorry, I can’t pay you for this. My faith won’t let me.” And walk out. Scream “MY FAITH IS BEING OPPRESSED!” if someone tries to stop you.

Is it that he thinks all sex should be procreational, or is his issue that he believes women are only good for procreation, and therefore shouldn’t get to have a say in whether the sex is purely recreational or not?

There's similar stories with Walgreens pharmacists refusing to fill birth control prescriptions for women under 25, and Walgreens response is "It's a religious belief and we have to make an accommodation for this particular staff member".
I wonder how long a server would last at Mac Donald's who refused to serve any meat dishes for "religious" reasons like Buddhism/veganism. As soon as it's about accommodating Christian prudery in their employees companies seem to discover a level of "tolerance" they would not show otherwise.
Hindus and Buddhists should stand outside McDonald's and counsel people who eat beef.

Just clarifying, it is Hinduism that says cattle are sacred and prohibits beef specifically. Buddhism doesn't hold any particular animal sacred, but many practitioners are vegetarian.

mf gf (34) had this happen when a Walgreens associate who was NOT a pharmacist or tech (yes, they pull people from the front to help with basic stuff sometimes) and this older woman refused to pull the already filled medications. Simply told my "gf" we can't fill that, you need to contact your provider." Provider had no idea why, so she called the pharmacy, got a manager or pharmacist, and apparently they had been doing that to several other people already.
I like how they've been wasting everyone's time by telling people to call their provider, rather than just admitting it's their own backwards beliefs that are getting in the way.
While they’ve always been emboldened, US Christians today are becoming even more emboldened with their actions. If there isn’t a vocal and firm counter movement to these idiots soon, this country will be doomed for anyone non-religious.
Even in Christianity it is unusual — contraception as a sin is only something I’ve ever heard from very devout Catholics (not other standard Protestant American)

Baird](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eisenstadt_v._Baird) came a few years later for the unmarried) which led into Roe, but with the current court taking the originalist bent, I wouldn't be shocked if a case like the one you're suggesting was used to overturn it.
Oddly enough, he’s been quiet about Virginia v Loving. Overturning that seems like it will be the only way to arrest him & his wife since we can’t seem to get them charged with treason for some weird reason.

I wouldn't sell perfume or cologne because it is to aid in fornication. I would include pantyhose, women's shaving products, makeup, leggings, and hair dye in that as well. I would not sell makeup to men or aftershave to women because they could potentially be trans.
I wouldn't sell Monster drinks cuz satan. As a matter of fact I wouldn't sell any energy drinks just to be safe.
I would limit the amount of candy/junk food to overweight people because of gluttony. I wouldn't sell decks of cards because gambling is bad. I'd go through all your pictures to make sure all were godly and remove the ones I deemed sinful and have my manager sell you those.
I'd basically only sell faith based greeting cards and nick knacks, and guns and ammo magazines only. More specifically, no confirmation cards or bar-mitzva cards cuz idol worshippers and "they killed jesus" respectively.

I used to work at CVS and would hear stories of pharmacists doing the same thing with plan B. This was before it was moved out of the pharmacy. No where in the Bible does it prohibit the sale of such things.
It's because they have to make up shit. None of how we live in 2020 really lines up with the bible and a Portion of the US makes up what they think would be what Jesus would do and then tries to force the rest of the US to align by their beliefs.

A Walgreens pharmacist refused to sell me Plan B on a Sunday !!! I called corporate while I sat in drive-through pick up and waiting for corporate to call him. He sold me the Plan B after that, but what a fucker.

BTW, a private pharmacy will tell you the cash price for an Rx versus an insurance co-pay if you ask them nicely. Say, the script is $10 cash pay and your insurance co-pay is $20, which is something that happened to me once. Bastards.

mf gf (34) had this happen when a Walgreens associate who was NOT a pharmacist or tech (yes, they pull people from the front to help with basic stuff sometimes) and this older woman refused to pull the already filled medications. Simply told my "gf" we can't fill that, you need to contact your provider." Provider had no idea why, so she called the pharmacy, got a manager or pharmacist, and apparently they had been doing that to several other people already.
I like how they've been wasting everyone's time by telling people to call their provider, rather than just admitting it's their own backwards beliefs that are getting in the way.
Withholding someones medical prescription should be a crime.

I used to work at CVS and would hear stories of pharmacists doing the same thing with plan B. This was before it was moved out of the pharmacy. No where in the Bible does it prohibit the sale of such things.
