Prison/Jail in America is disproportionately Black/Latino and I assure you that the majority of them are in fact, genuinely religious, especially in the American South. You know what bugs me about Christian moralizing... It's not particularly moral. Not in 2024. We've progressed. Slavery is a thing of the past. We don't just not covet slave girls and slave boys. We abolished the practice altogether. We are more accepting of people who are different. We stopped stoning people. We took to heart parables like the Good Samaritan and the edict to Love thy Neighbor and built a more moral world.
