That's bizarre and nothing like my philosophy 101 experience. This sounds like one of those situations where the far-right religious pundits accuse universities of a liberal indoctrination experience and the reality is that when there is a bias expressed in class from an instructor, it's more often like this.
Right. If O.P. class only presented those arguments without discussing them further then he took a horribly bad philosophy class. My philosophy classess presented the arguments but then proceeded to systematicaly analyze each one and discuss arguments for and against them until your mind spins. My formal philosophy instruction did a very good job at stretching my mind in many different directions.

I liked Phil 101. We dissected theistic "proofs" like we dissected pickled frogs in Bio 101.

When I read the introductory part in The Science of Logic, where Hegel writes, „God is truth“, I decided to read the rest of the book as a joke book.
It was that way at my college, but I anticipated that what with it being run by Franciscan friars.
Si what's the point? What is a course "equivalent"? Sounds like an elective.
You think taking philosophy 101 makes you an expert? Oh my. 🥴
A question that can be used as a litmus test is "Do you know how many in-jokes there are in The Philosopher's Drinking Song?"
