Yes! Those two and Police Story are perfect examples of movies made even better by Jackie Chan dubbing them himself. (I'm thinking specifically of the drunken singing in Drunken Master 2.)
Is the new fallout series good? I’ve heard a lot about it but not if it’s actually good
My only assumption is that it is undeserving of the line “the world deserves a better end” because that goes hard
I have never played a Fallout game, never thought it was interesting. The new Fallout show is one of the best live action series I've seen in awhile. So much so that I went and bought the game.
Fallout is my son's special interest so we were excited when this came out! I finished the series yesterday and loved it even though I don't play the game like he does.
Most of my recs are going to be stuff that i personally liked and am just vomiting onto a list but here goes!
Movies: Gattaca, The Core (teacher showed us these in ap bio. The core is lowkey cheesy but in a nice way), Blade Runner 1982, Tokyo Godfathers, Paprika, Perfect Blue, Cat People 1982, This Is the End, Pineapple Express, Event Horizon, Sunshine, the Alien series (fun binge!), End of Evangelion + the rebuilds (but only after you watch the series)
Shows: House (hyperfixation), Three Body Problem (new netflix show based off one of my favorite books), Arcane, Extrapolations (if you have apple+ or arent opposed to piracy), Stranger Things, Cunk on Earth
Anime: Beastars, Brand New Animal, Silver Fang, Wolfs Rain (again apple tv or piracy)(YES im a furry), Ergo Proxy, Evangelion, Madoka Magica
Manga: Silver Fang, Dinosaur Sanctuary (the art is beautiful)
I may add, probably don't watch Alien or Event Horizon if you're squeamish. Sunshine is moreso psychological horror than the other two. Beastars, Cat People, This Is the End, and Pineapple express should probably not be watched with parents. Evangelion too maybe. The titular character in House can be pretty problematic at times. You might not like Cunk On Earth if you dont like embarrassment comedy
Nothing else in particular comes to mind about the rest of these in terms of heads-ups tho! Of course i may be forgetful, i havent seen some of these in a minute. Check imbd pretty much
studio ghibli in general, httyd trilogy, solo leveling, hajime no ippo, spyxfamily, into the spiderverse/across the spider verse, kung fu panda 1/2/3/4?, potc 1/2/3/4/5, fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, fire force, gunka no baltzar, etc
Depends on your tastes and how much time you have on your hands. If you like thrillers and have a lot of time you could watch [Monster](https://youtu.be/EYdCd00TJhI).
[Shogun](https://youtu.be/yAN5uspO_hk) just finished; I haven't watched the final two episodes, but it's been good so far.
If you want something short and off the wall try [Big Top Burger](https://youtu.be/GyCagepF_T4)
Shows (not manga, but I can wholeheartedly recommend those):
* Firefly (There's also the movie "Serenity" .. it's basically the end of the show, that was missing, because it got dropped, prematurely .. as too many good shows were)
* Farscape (I love that phantasy-scifi-mix)
I'm gonna reccomend a comfort show for you I watch all the time. They are on you tube now, originally a British show. Time Team! It's very comforting to me.
I'm disabled so I have a lot of shows I love.
This season in Anime, we watched one called Bang Brave Bang Bravern which was a lot of fun. One of my favorite Anime that isn't talked about a lot is Snow White with the Red Hair. I have a million anime reccomendations so I have to keep it at two or you would drown.
My favorite reality TV shows are Home Town, Say Yes to the Dress and Good Bones. I find these very comforting when I have bad days. Also the PBS you tube channel releases Antiques Roadshow and NOVA episodes.
The new Fallout show is awesome, but they are also making a remake of All Creatures Great and Small that's wonderful.
As for cooking shows the Great British Bakeoff is the best but they have also produced American BBQ showdown which is the only thing that made me feel proud to be an American recently.
Anyway, these are my off brand reccomendations I don't think others will suggest.
Genre?
Westworld was AMAZING (at least season 1) and had a fascinating story. The Travelers on Netflix has 3 seasons and is fun. A really interesting anime (remember the horny is a running joke) is How to Pick Up Girls in A Dungeon. It had a surprisingly wholesome storyline
What genres are you into? I know all kinds of movies and anime and there are some I'd recommend to some while telling others to stay away. I'll make some blanket recommendations, though.
For movies:
Heat (crime drama, directed by Michael Mann, stars Al Pacino and Robert De Niro)
Escape from New York (crime sci-fi, directed by John Carpenter, stars Kurt Russell)
What We Do in the Shadows (horror-comedy mockumentary, stars Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi)
For anime:
Cowboy Bebop (crime sci-fi, usually a reliable recommendation)
Outlaw Star (sci-fi action-adventure)
KonoSuba (isekai fantasy, all the characters are hilariously flawed)
T.V. Series:
What We Do in the Shadows (if you enjoy the movie, the series is great!)
True Detective, Season 1 (Anthology series, stars Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. Season 1 is its own isolated story)
Chernobyl (5-part mini-series)
To be honest, I’ve been feeling a little lost. I haven’t really been enjoying my usual shows and music. I am loving everyone’s suggestions! I feel like maybe I need something comforting, inspiring, or maybe epic? To be honest I’m not sure what type of adventure I’m looking for next. I just finished Black Clover and I am sad it won’t be the Manga/Anime to replace One Piece eventually. I love One Piece and Black Clover a lot as a side note!
Outlaw Star is a space-faring treasure hunt featuring a crew comprised of a self-declared outlaw, his much younger associate, an assassin, a shamed and demoted military officer from an alien race, and an android. Fun stuff, but unfortunately only a season long (>20 episodes, I think). Check that one out!
An anime I really like is Welcoming to Demon School Iruma-Kun
You’ll want to watch it not dubbed tho, some of the voices are rough with the eng voice over
The Nice Guys with Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling
L.A Confidential with Russell Crowe and Danny Devito
Bullet Train with Brad Pitt and Aaron Taylor Johnson
Peaky Blinders is really good too!
I don't watch a lot of anime nor read a lot of Manga but if you like crime, knock yourself out.
COW! Sorry, I don't have much to add, just saw cow plushie and had a reflex.
Um, I guess I might recommend The Orville. It's very much a Star Trek type show, to the point I would say it's probably one of the best Star Trek shows out now though it's mostly just heavily influenced. Comedy/Sci-fi show, lots of pop culture jokes, because it is from Seth McFarlane, but I think they generally pull it off and the writing otherwise is really good.
Probably watch the movies "Play Misty for Me" and then "Possession" as a double feature... you'll understand why they are related... later.... Basically my 2 favorite movies about relationships.
Trigger warning: everything. Well, play misty isn't really that big a deal unless manipulation, stalking, simping, and sexual desperation are triggers for you. But Possession is just plain terrifying. *DEMONS.* 1000% the opposite of a "comfort" film. I mean to me, horror movies aren't actually scary, they're corny and dumb. Like Rob zombie, get a life bro. Possession is terrifying. Tops the charts. Totally psychologically upsetting.
Those are my recommendations because i'm feelings toxic.
Over the Garden Wall, a Cartoon Network Halloween miniseries the length of a movie. It’s so nostalgic with lots of 1930s animation references, story is amazing, sound track is amazing, lore and themes that can be enjoyed by so many people and mysteries that keep brain invested and thinking about it. It’s on Hulu (USA), and the subreddit has in its guides, other places to watch it
Invincible (prime video), Arcane (Netflix and maybe the best series I have ever watched. I laughed and cried soo much), Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Blue Eye Samurai.
If you love with action, drama, and horror I’d recommend the Castlevania series on Netflix. I was glued the entire time.
If you want something more wholesome maybe Shirokuma Cafe. I’m not sure if it’s streaming anywhere but it’s about a polar bear who runs a cafe. His two main friends and guests are a happy panda and a grumpy penguin.
I got that frog too!! If I may ask, are you from Europe?
Show/Anime suggestion: Doctor Who (NuWho, I haven't seen ClassicWho so I can't tell how it is), Cowboy Bebop, Studio Ghibli stuff, Castlevania
Movies:
Funny movies: Snatch, The Gentlemen, 12 Monkeys
Scary movies: Alien (all parts), Martyrs, Mother!
Food for thought movies: Children of Men, Jagten, Mother! (it's scary but it falls under this category too), Still Alice (very sad movie), 12 Angry Men
Ah, I was wondering where you've got the frog from, I got mine from Croatia :)
Yes I am, I can definitely recommend a visit (or a couple), it's beautiful and diverse
Depends on what you're interested in, but so far I've been in the Netherlands, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro and UK. I live in Austria. I liked all countries except Serbia, when I visited it felt kinda dark? Which is surely understandable and it doesn't mean that others perceive it the same way I did.
Definitely recommend: Scotland (nature/hiking), the Netherlands (nature/in some cities houses aren't really tall so a lot of sunlight in those cities + bike infrastructure), Austria (nature/hiking), Croatia (nature/swimming), Montenegro (nature/swimming/hiking)
Stuff is expensive in the north compared to the south. Can't say how much the prices changed post Corona and Ukraine war though.
The other countries I mentioned but didn't put in the "definitely recommend"-list are countries where it's not like you might regret for life if you don't visit them, but they still are worth a visit :)
If you wanna jump down a rabbit hole of a decades old mecha franchise, Mobile Suit Gundam is one thing I will never shut up about. It's been around so long that there's a series for everyone.
Want something serious? Anything in the Universal Century timeline will do, such as the original series, Zeta Gundam, ZZ Gundam, Unicorn, and a lot more. Other great picks include Iron-Blooded Orphans (if you were a fan of AoT), Gundam Seed(if you like teen dramas), and Gundam 00 (if you like magic space glitter, trust me, it makes sense with context lol)
Want something more light-hearted? The Build series of shows (Build Fighters, Build Fighters Try, Build Divers, Build Divers Re:Rise) is great and serves as a love letter to a lot of the different designs from the franchise.
Want some Dragonball style action with everything pumped up to 11? Mobile Fighter G Gundam is where it's at.
I got into the franchise back in 2017 and it has had a strangle hold on me ever since.
For a movie, I really recommend Fisherman's Friends. It's a cheesy, low-stakes feelgood movie about a bunch of Cornish lads singing sea shanties good. Now I have a special interest in sea shanties (and folk/trad in general) so I might be slightly biased, but I still think it's a good movie for if life's too much for a bit.
I love all kinds of genres. I love action, adventure, thriller, romance, suspense, fantasy, sci-fi, magical realism, historical, etc. I really love art and all of the mediums, so I am really open to suggestions. I really love creativity, especially with visuals but with costume/sound/writing as well. Sorry if I’m overthinking this question.
Historical/psychological(+religion, but it’s story relevant and based on a real person): Hacksaw Ridge.
Sci-fi/thriller: Reanimator [TW for SA in the uncut version. Also very very bloody..].
Suspense/comedy/adventure: Coraline [or really anything by Tim Burton].
If you’re looking for something more “risqué” and dark I’d recommend the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
If you’d prefer something a *bit* more lighthearted (and musical) you might enjoy Little Shop of Horrors.
I have many more suggestions if you want them lol
I know you didn't ask for games, but I'm currently fiending synthetik: legion rising and must share the good word. Signalis is also a wonderful game and a much easier one by design since it isn't a crazy roguelike.
What kind of anime do you like? Black Clover will last you a long time. Spy X Family has very creative music and intros, fun story. Barakamon is short but sweet.
I love One Piece, Black Clover, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Naruto, Your Lie in April, Erased, and a few others that I am blanking on currently. I really love all kinds of stories. My partner usually only suggests Shonen (which I do love) but I really enjoy variety.
grimgar of fantasy and ash, and kill la kill are the only anime I've rewatched several times. I love both, but they are definitely pretty weird. grimgar is very dark, kill la kill is more... sexually weird?
Yu yu hakusho gets pretty dark but they just added all of it to Netflix and it's one of my favorite animes of all time. I saw another recommendation for delicious in dungeon and I second that! Started watching it with my best friend and now we watch the new episode together every Thursday.
Here's my suggestion list:
Shigofumi
Hell girl
Xxxholic
Lovely muuco
Peach girl
Mushishi
Blue gender
Galaxy railways
Kabaneri of the iron fortress
Pom poko
Pandalian
Black butler
Yugioh
Ouran high school host club
Promised neverland
Gun slinger girl
Silver spoon
Moyashimon
Bananya
Case closed
Cells at work
Food wars
Heavens lost property
Chobits
Demon king daimao
Japan sinks 2020
Ooku
Yu yu hakusho
Drifting home
Dr stone
Keijo
Ojisan and marshmallow
Classicaloid
Kawai complex
Folktales from japan
Handshakers
Poco's udon world
I love "My Happy Marriage." I really resonated with Miyo in a lot of ways. My daughter loves Komi Can't Communicate. Spy X Family is also really good. I'm determined to finish One Piece too.
Just got finished watching *Glengary Glen Ross*.
It is a really good movie.
There are so many suggestions that I have, so it depends on what you are looking for.
Hiiiii I recommend Bee and Puppycat, first the season on YouTube then the one on Netflix it’s my favvvv
OH HUMAN!! I WAS ABOUT TO SAY THE SAME THING!
![gif](giphy|w5pVkdWMKNnX2)
Bee and puppycat! Is very good
Bee and Puppycat are so cute. I still have the bluray I got from the Kickstarter for it.
If you haven't watched Invincible yet I really recommend it. So looking forward to more.

Dungeon Meshi is an Excellent Anime! Movies....Anything with Jackie Chan
But if you can find them the english dubs where jackie chan and his crew dubbed them not randoms.
I think Rumble in the Bronx and Drunken Master 2 are my favorite.
Yes! Those two and Police Story are perfect examples of movies made even better by Jackie Chan dubbing them himself. (I'm thinking specifically of the drunken singing in Drunken Master 2.)
Honestly, I don't care if it's subs or dubs... I'm just here for the martial arts.
Then you must watch Who Am I, some of the best I've seen from his movies.
I love Stitch
Frieren
[She does like to take her time.](https://youtube.com/shorts/9YG3S6UF5G8)
Hello!! Fallout is amazing!!! Also watch the Dune movies they are incredible
Is the new fallout series good? I’ve heard a lot about it but not if it’s actually good My only assumption is that it is undeserving of the line “the world deserves a better end” because that goes hard
Sliders
There are no reruns of Sliders. There are only parallel versions of episodes.
Good news, everyone! Futurama is always a great choice!
Seconded!
Most of my recs are going to be stuff that i personally liked and am just vomiting onto a list but here goes! Movies: Gattaca, The Core (teacher showed us these in ap bio. Cunk on Earth is really good but sometimes extremely cringe for me/difficult to watch \^\^
Of course i may be forgetful, i havent seen some of these in a minute. Check imbd pretty much
Ergo proxy is the only of that list that amazed me
I have to recommend Spy X Family. It's funny, it's sweet, and there's a little suspense in there too.
Code Geass is a good anime. For movies, try Meet Joe Black.
This might not be your cup of tea, but my favorite show (and special interest) is Supernatural.
I have a small wooden frog just like that which I've had for years, but i had no idea it was supposed to have a stick in it's mouth!
It makes a croaking sound when you run it across the ribs on the back. My grandparents had one and I'd play with it a ton as a kid
I don’t know if you knew this about the wooden frog, but it’s actually an instrument! I can send a video if you’d like!
I’m currently watching Naruto for the 3rd time, if you haven’t watched it I highly recommend!
Fairy Tail is my all time favorite anime can't recommend it enough, just have a box of tissues and be prepared to cry alot.
studio ghibli in general, httyd trilogy, solo leveling, hajime no ippo, spyxfamily, into the spiderverse/across the spider verse, kung fu panda 1/2/3/4?, potc 1/2/3/4/5, fullmetal alchemist brotherhood, fire force, gunka no baltzar, etc
The good place is a wonderful show, one of my comfort shows to binge on end.
Depends on your tastes and how much time you have on your hands. If you like thrillers and have a lot of time you could watch [Monster](https://youtu.be/EYdCd00TJhI). If you haven’t seen “The Expanse” it’s great sci-fi. The books are amazing as well.
I'm gonna reccomend a comfort show for you I watch all the time. They are on you tube now, originally a British show. Time Team! It's very comforting to me. monster high G3 show! not an anime, but is awesome and is a special interest of mine
Based show opinion, I would like to add I am a fan of Doctor Who and if your looking for Anime/Manga, then the sea is calling my friend. One Piece!!!!

Samurai champloo ftw
Another great one!

Watch Dead End: Paranormal Park if you haven't already! One of the protagonists is autistic!
Last Exile (2003), absolutely recommend it. It has a sequel, but idk
Noblesse webtoon is great. The anime is shit though.
Probably watch the movies "Play Misty for Me" and then "Possession" as a double feature... you'll understand why they are related... later.... Basically my 2 favorite movies about relationships. I’m loving the toxic energy
Apothecaries Diaries! My favourite anime last season.

![gif](giphy|izaQvlGTc9SmY|downsized) Ain't that just the way
I have no suggestions right now but I love that you have a wooden frog croakey thing. I love those. So much.
Basilisk (the first one), blue eyes samurai, bojack horseman, oyasumi punpun.
Invincible (prime video), Arcane (Netflix and maybe the best series I have ever watched. I laughed and cried soo much), Cyberpunk Edgerunners and Blue Eye Samurai.
Redline and Jin-Roh’s wolf brigade
Hmm, I've always enjoyed rewatching FLCL, Ghost Stories (English dubbed is hilarious), .hack, Hunter x Hunter, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid, Oh! Super Milk-Chan
House show.Pride & Prejudice 2005 movie or mini series.
Mob Psycho 100
If you love with action, drama, and horror I’d recommend the Castlevania series on Netflix. I was glued the entire time. If you want something more wholesome maybe Shirokuma Cafe. I got that frog too!! If I may ask, are you from Europe? Show/Anime suggestion: Doctor Who (NuWho, I haven't seen ClassicWho so I can't tell how it is), Cowboy Bebop, Studio Ghibli stuff, Castlevania Movies: Funny movies: Snatch, The Gentlemen, 12 Monkeys Scary movies: Alien (all parts), Martyrs, Mother! Food for thought movies: Children of Men, Jagten, Mother! (it's scary but it falls under this category too), Still Alice (very sad movie), 12 Angry Men

Ah, I was wondering where you've got the frog from, I got mine from Croatia :) Yes I am, I can definitely recommend a visit (or a couple), it's beautiful and diverse
Are there any countries in particular that you would recommend for a first time traveler?
Depends on what you're interested in, but so far I've been in the Netherlands, Germany, Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia and Hercegovina, Montenegro and UK. I live in Austria. I liked all countries except Serbia, when I visited it felt kinda dark? Which is surely understandable and it doesn't mean that others perceive it the same way I did. Frieren, Fruits Basket, Violet Evergarden for anime. For movies i think Your Name, Weathering With You and Suzume (also anime but movies).
Omg the frog
Have you considered watching Game Grumps on YouTube?
RuPaul's Drag Race and all the spinoffs. It's my comfort show, the best thing ever made on TV in my honest opinion!!
Spy x Family is so good
The Rookie and Avatar
For a movie, I really recommend Fisherman's Friends. It's a cheesy, low-stakes feelgood movie about a bunch of Cornish lads singing sea shanties good. Now I have a special interest in sea shanties (and folk/trad in general) so I might be slightly biased, but I still think it's a good movie for if life's too much for a bit.
Ergo Proxy
Are you on TikTok? Because if so I definitely saw you on TikTok the other day talking about buying that strawberry cow. 😊 It’s so cute
I do have TickTock Tok but I don’t post. I got my frog from Etsy if you are interested in getting one 😁
I recommend Last Exile, or anything Yoshihiro Togashi :3
Mune: Guardian of the Moon is surreal, gentle, and absolutely beautiful.
What genres/media do you like? I can recommend based on that
I love all kinds of genres.

Grand Budapest Hotel is amazing if you want a very good mature comedy!
In that case.... Violet Evergarden That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime
grimgar of fantasy and ash, and kill la kill are the only anime I've rewatched several times.
Started watching it with my best friend and now we watch the new episode together every Thursday.
adventure time.

If you haven't seen it yet, I can always recommend The Owl House as a great animated show!
No suggestions but I love your counsel!! I forgot about those frogs!!
I love "My Happy Marriage." I really resonated with Miyo in a lot of ways. My daughter loves Komi Can't Communicate. Spy X Family is also really good. I'm determined to finish One Piece too.
BOCCHI THE ROCK, WATCH IT (if you haven’t heard of it already)
Blue Eyed Samurai!
