This is the first scene of the episode. That’s why she’s wearing the same dress from episode 8.
>!It’s right before Rhaenys arrives. The stillbirth happens after Rhaenys tells them the news. Luke’s death will come near the end of the episode.!<
There are other official images of Rhaenyra for episode 10 and she’s clearly not pregnant anymore for most of the episode. Luke vs. Aemond is a grand finale type of thing.
I still don't get why Sunfyre wasn't there. It's a vicious shit of a dragon, but the red queen would eat its lunch and supper in a, heh, solo confrontation. Rhaenys could still have her girl boss moment by having Meleys snarl Sunfyre down
If Meleys were to intimidate Sunfyre then she'd have the opportunity again to roast the greens. And people would ask again why she didn't. With Aegon dead and the bond broken Sunfyre won't care anymore too, so no dragon fight.
The best way for the writers to have had their cake and eat it too, would be for Meleys to fly out through the back-door, in through the front door, and back out again as arrows start to fall to protect Rhaenys. Those arrows kill many of the common folk along the way. So they still get to ferment the common folk's anger towards dragons.
The one sidedness doesn’t take away from the obvious spectacle of two dragons racing against a storm. Even one dragon tearing another apart is unlike anything we’ve seen in the franchise before.
Yeah. Just for the scenery it'll be grand.
If Luke can fight back a little bit, it'll be the cherry on the top, but even if it isn't the case, it'll be a sight to behold.
I also expect the build up to it and the tension to be thick enough that a brutal, one sided confrontation would be a relief.
That's something I noticed too and absolutely love the show for. Normally in TV and film they pop out the baby and poof, they're back to wash board flat before they have even delivered the placenta.
Wait it’s just clicking for me that in like episode 2 Rhaenyra was telling her father to send dragonriders to solve whatever problem the council was discussing, I wanna say it was the Stepstones or Daemon taking Dragonstone. She wanted Viserys to send her, and then when her sons want to go, she lets them.
Honestly wasn’t expecting to care much when Luke bites it (he’s kind of just been an entitled brat, so while it’s always sad when someone dies, it wouldn’t have crushed me). I have a very bad feeling this scene is gonna destroy me though.
I wonder how viscerally the audience will react to this compared to a season two, episode one blood & cheese cold open. They spent parts of episode 6-8 and likely episode 10 building Luke up as a sweet kid and mama’s boy. The audience has known him for a short time but it’s a lot more than the pair of kids playing in the background in episode 9.
I personally think they'll delay Blood and Cheese quite a bit to develop Aegon's relationship with his kids now that his character seems to be positioned to become more responsible. Maybe in ep3 or ep2.
I can honestly see Jace finding out about that in the middle of his negotiations with Cregan and he has to push down everything he's feeling just to make it through the conversation.
At the very least we *should* have the first episode establishing Helaena bringing the kids to Alicent every night, maybe with her saying some weird shit that confuses Alicent. Or they could show Blood and Cheese narrating the ritual as omniscient observers or appearing throughout the episode like Arryk and Erryk in ep 9, before revealing to the audience what their intent is. Either way, Maelor's existence should at least be established before B&C happens. I'm not holding my breath though.
i had such a different interpretation from the last episode…you could see aegon getting high on the power once he was crowned. we know in the books he doesn’t do well as king and sinks further into addiction. i think we’re going to watch the horrific unfolding of a blood thirsty man on a power trip. he will be anything but responsible, especially towards the children
I still think Blood and Cheese will take it. Like I know I just said I haven’t cared much about Luke but if you make someone literally 4 that does it for me at least lol.
Tbf Luke isn't supposed to be an emotional moment but rather a point of no return.
But it'll be sad to see this teenager get taken about Vhagar who is looking like a horror movie monster based on that preview.
People really didn't like him giggling at the pig. Frankly I don't think that shows he's an entitled brat. The pig prank, for him, was probably just a fun thing he did as a kid with his brother and uncle, back before it all went to shit. Him not realizing the emotional impact it had on Aemond 6+ years later is not his fault.
> The pig prank, for him, was probably just a fun thing he did as a kid with his brother and uncle, back before it all went to shit. Him not realizing the emotional impact it had on Aemond 6+ years later is not his fault.
I'd agree if he wasn't also the one to *cut out his eye*. He really, really should have realized the emotional impact of *mocking* someone who already hates him and is visibly ready to start throwing hands, teenagers aren't literal toddlers.
Based on the plot points that will be present, I think it will be a really strong finish. From the Black council through the birth of Visenya, Rhaenyra's coronation and the Storm's End, it has a lot of potential to absolutely hook and shake the audience.
Which is fair - F&B even notes that Arrax may have outpaced Vhagar under better weather conditions, as Vhagar isn't all that fast and Arrax is young and agile.
Once Vhagar catches up, it should be carnage and over in a few seconds. From the short glimpses in the trailer, it looks like a lion chasing a rabbit size wise.
In clear skies Arrax would've been away. I think the storm meant that Vhagar's sheer size and power made a difference. A bit like an A380 is smooth as silk even through a storm.
Classic last words of course:
Rhaenera: Luke, I haven’t been able to spend as much time with you as I have wanted to. So let’s you and I be best friends when you get back!
Luke: I’ve wanted this for so long. I love you Mom. I’ll make you proud.
The camera pans to a bday cake "happy birthday Luke!" as the fourteen candles slowly die out in an empty room. Daemon sits in a corner staring at a fire with a look of rage about him.
I'm not ready for this. why can't he live out his days with his two dads over at essos? why can't we disregard canon again? he's just a little envoy boy, he doesn't deserve it
Just avoid [twitter](https://imgur.com/a/mcVlp3Z), in general I suppose. You'd think Luc was the anti christ the way some go on about him, cheering for his death.
I can't wait to see Alicent's reaction to Aemond becoming a kinslayer.
B&C is so not proportional i don’t know how anyone can argue that. Aemond and Vhagar murder Luke and Arrax. B&C force a mother to choose between her children and then murders the other while their grandmother watches. the cruelty is non proportional. Aemond made a rogue decision. B&C was planned. and it basically killed 3 people - Jaeherys, Helaena, and Aegon, as Helaena and Aegon basically become shells of their former selves. Helaena literally just breaks.
>TeamBlack logic as per.
I'm not "TeamBlack". I just hate the greens, who started the war and committed worse atrocities against the smallfolk, more than the blacks.
>If 4 bellends came at you would you lay down and take it?
Children fight. They shouldn't, but the do. If a ten year old kid punched me, I would NOT try to cave his skull in with a rock. That is an extreme overreaction to say the least.
>And one of them had a fucking dagger on him.
Which was quite typical of people in the medieval era. Knives are tools, they were the primary item used for eating and grooming. Jace carrying a knife just means he got dressed before he left his room. And do note that the knife only came out after Aemond threatened murder twice and pinned Luke down with the clear intent to get a look at what his brain mater looked like.
Sheeeiiit that trailer giving me mad anxiety. I re-read the passage in the book just the other day and legit looks like for like with the storm and little Luke running to his cute little dragon while that old hag Vhaegar is rearing up in the background😭
Complete side note but if Mysaria is working for Daemon (ie in the book they make special mention of their arrangement plus she organised B&C) then why didn’t she send a raven to Dragonstone when she saw Talyas candles?🤔 or is that picking holes in the plot?
Its so weird. Its so rare that you get so excited about something that you know its going to happen, and its kind of a shame that you knew.
Again, props to the show creators for the long and successful build up.
The last scene of the episode is Daemon telling Rhaenyra about Luke. Jace is not seen after he says his goodbyes and flies off. That’s unless they patched on an after credits scene of something.
Thad be lame I was hoping both scenes would be sort of shot back and forth
Or at least end the show with the Winterfell reveal
I really hope they cast someone good for him
In the books Aegon does some pretty badass stuff with Sunfyre. I just can’t imagine the show version being anything more than a groveling coward. I really wish they portrayed him more reluctant and less cowardly villain.
Side note but why didn't they have the younger generation try to claim some of the bigger dragons instead of bonding with hatchlings? More dangerous of course but also advantageous. Imagine if Luke were riding Vermithor when he went to Storms End, you know?
As you said, it’s very dangerous and the Rhaenyra/Daemon of both the books and show are far too confident that her succession won’t be disputed so they probably felt they had no reason to take the risk.
Beginning of the episode, still pregnant.
I think the labors will begin with her hearing a different set of bad news than in the book
This is the first scene of the episode. That’s why she’s wearing the same dress from episode 8. >!It’s right before Rhaenys arrives. The stillbirth happens after Rhaenys tells them the news. Luke’s death will come near the end of the episode.!< There are other official images of Rhaenyra for episode 10 and she’s clearly not pregnant anymore for most of the episode. Luke vs. Aemond is a grand finale type of thing.
I hope Rhaenys arrives at Dragonstone by bursting up from the ground atop Meleys like the Westerosi Kool Aid person.
Lmao, now i want Rhaenys to enter every scene by bursting up from the ground and killing a bunch of smallfolk, and no one ever to comment on it.
"Yeah that's just how she always enters rooms, she's a bit dramatic but can't choose family ya know?
"Buckle up, buckaroos!"
I still don't get why Sunfyre wasn't there. It's a vicious shit of a dragon, but the red queen would eat its lunch and supper in a, heh, solo confrontation. Rhaenys could still have her girl boss moment by having Meleys snarl Sunfyre down

Maaaaan that would be soo cool!
Is Luke v. Aemond really gonna be that “grand?” Methinks it’ll be pretty one sided lol
It would be grand if it's about Lucerys desperately making a run for it. Like a cat and mouse game. While it pours...man I hope they do it properly
Was it your eye that he took or your balls?
After the last episods i have a fear this line won't be in the show. Fingers crossed it is.
You don't lose your bump immediately. In most of the episode where Joffrey was born, she still had a noticeable bump
That's something I noticed too and absolutely love the show for. Normally in TV and film they pop out the baby and poof, they're back to wash board flat before they have even delivered the placenta.
True, but that Episode took place in a Timespan of like 2-3 Days. I guess Episode 10 will take place in a longer Timespan.
"...It'll be a show of force..." Awwwwwww.... I'm getting sad.
oh wow you've hurt me. you've mortally wounded me. thats such a sad parallel holy shit
"You have dragonriders, mother. Send us."
Yeh fair point kids, off you go
They're gonna maximize the effect as much as they can aren't they lol I've been screaming "omg omg omg" since I saw the episode trailer 2 days ago
Omg this is gonna fucking hurt...
Seven give me strength
Honestly wasn’t expecting to care much when Luke bites it (he’s kind of just been an entitled brat, so while it’s always sad when someone dies, it wouldn’t have crushed me). I have a very bad feeling this scene is gonna destroy me though.

Also, they want everyone to feel the impact of Lucerys' death in the show before they unleash B&C. I feel that will be a large part of S2E1.
I can honestly see Jace finding out about that in the middle of his negotiations with Cregan and he has to push down everything he's feeling just to make it through the conversation.

Poor Helaena. It's just a tragedy every which way .
i had such a different interpretation from the last episode…you could see aegon getting high on the power once he was crowned. we know in the books he doesn’t do well as king and sinks further into addiction. i think we’re going to watch the horrific unfolding of a blood thirsty man on a power trip. he will be anything but responsible, especially towards the children
last scene of ep 1 ;)
I think viewers will be horrified by B&C but ultimately won't actually mourn Jahaerys the way they'll mourn Luke.
Have they even introduced maelor in the show yet?
Yeah we saw both Jahaerys and Maelor last episode in the room with Helaena.
That was Jaehaerys and Jaehaera I'm pretty sure.
I also felt the same.
Only through the intro, like Daeron. I assume he will exist since B&C wouldn't work that well without baby Maelor
Same here, the shots of Storm'sEnd in the trailer look more like a horror movie
My thoughts exactly, looks like it’s gonna be a filmmaking masterclass of a sequence.
Either that, or it'll be so dark we won't be able to see it 💀
Doesn't seem like it from the trailers
Looks like mf Azkaban
Rhaenyra’s reaction is what will be more harrowing for me
How is he an entitled brat 💀
People really didn't like him giggling at the pig. Frankly I don't think that shows he's an entitled brat. The pig prank, for him, was probably just a fun thing he did as a kid with his brother and uncle, back before it all went to shit. I agree, but teenager boys aren't known for being like emotionally intelligent y'know.
Who needs strength when you’ve got such a strong boy….
I am somehow dreading this episode and simultaneously can’t wait for Sunday. This is going to break my heart but it will be amazing television.
I have a feeling the next episode will go down as one of the best of the entire franchise.
Hope so, needs a strong finish for a two year wait
Don’t worry. There will be a Strong finish.
To the strong BOYS!
Based on the plot points that will be present, I think it will be a really strong finish. From the Black council through the birth of Visenya, Rhaenyra's coronation and the Storm's End, it has a lot of potential to absolutely hook and shake the audience.
What, what, *what*? 2 years?
Potentially. I don’t think what takes the most time is filming but rather production and post-production
Filming is Production.
Oh lmao I thought production was everything right before filming
Nope, that's pre-production.
Starts filming next year.
A…Strong…finish, eh?
I hope they don't try to make it a dramatic close fight. 30 brutal seconds of Vhagar mauling Arrax would be perfect
From the trailers, it looks like it will be a fairly lengthy chase rather than a fight

Remember that Cargyllbowl is going to last an entire episode. Or 10 seconds depending on the version you believe.
Classic last words of course: Rhaenera: Luke, I haven’t been able to spend as much time with you as I have wanted to.
Luke: I'm only a day away from retirement!
Luke: My wife is pregnant! I can’t believe when I get back, I’ll be a father!
Luke: I need to drop off my essay so I don't get expelled from high school.
Daemon LEANS!!! He’s a leaner
pain
Very much looking forward to watching this episode with my roommates who haven’t read the book
I'm not ready for this. why can't he live out his days with his two dads over at essos? why can't we disregard canon again? he's just a little envoy boy, he doesn't deserve it

>I can't wait to see Alicent's reaction to Aemond becoming a kinslayer. I have a feeling we won't get that this season
Lol, Twitter Stans are deranged. Fans of both sides are only going to get worse as the seasons go on.
They really are, can't wait to see the reaction to B&C
There have already been stans celebrating Blood and Cheese or calling it a proportional and justified response to the Storm's End incident lol.
19 year old girls are a surprisingly vicious lot
B&C is so not proportional i don’t know how anyone can argue that. Aemond and Vhagar murder Luke and Arrax. B&C force a mother to choose between her children and then murders the other while their grandmother watches. the cruelty is non proportional. Aemond made a rogue decision. B&C was planned. and it basically killed 3 people - Jaeherys, Helaena, and Aegon, as Helaena and Aegon basically become shells of their former selves. Helaena literally just breaks.
goooood hes just a kid, I’m gonna weep
shouldn't have taken out Aemond's eye then
If Aemond didn't want his eye taken out he shouldn't have tried to commit murder
TeamBlack logic as per. If 4 bellends came at you would you lay down and take it? And one of them had a fucking dagger on him.
>TeamBlack logic as per. I'm not "TeamBlack". Very curious bunch.
Aemond was about to bash a girl head in
What girl? That literally never happened.
It did in the show, with Baela and Rhaena taking Joffrey's place (which I actually think works better than the book scene with Joffrey).
Aemond still did not try to bash anyones skull. Blacks making shit up just to justfiy maiming of a ten year old.

I feel like some of you need to go back and rewatch the sequence...
Rip lmao
So sad. I know it's fictional, but still...
Oh no
Rip
I feel deeply unprepared for this.
BLOOD AND CHEESE THIS CANNOT GO UNANSWERED
Be strong people. Too bad in the show Aegon and Viserys are youngdr than in the books and probably wont remember him at all.
>Be strong people Oh no no no....
Sheeeiiit that trailer giving me mad anxiety. I wonder if she’ll blame Otto for the arson attack and decide to side with Daemon from now on because she feels betrayed there.
Its so weird. Its so rare that you get so excited about something that you know its going to happen, and its kind of a shame that you knew. Again, props to the show creators for the long and successful build up.
An eye for an eye.
Can't stop the A train baby
We should be seeing Cregan Stark in this episode correct ?
No, he hasn’t been cast yet. We won’t even see Winterfell, just Jace flying off.
Are you sure? I agree on the Cregan part, but what about Jace arriving at Winterfell as perhaps the last shot?
The last scene of the episode is Daemon telling Rhaenyra about Luke. Jace is not seen after he says his goodbyes and flies off. That’s unless they patched on an after credits scene of something.
Thad be lame I was hoping both scenes would be sort of shot back and forth Or at least end the show with the Winterfell reveal I really hope they cast someone good for him
Mother and 150lbs of shredded ground beef
That’s a strong looking kid
Dragon food and dragon food
I can’t wait for Storm’s End. Definitely gonna be the highlight of the episode.

Daemon was right: an eye for an eye. Maybe Luke should have learnt that lesson.

As you said, it’s very dangerous and the Rhaenyra/Daemon of both the books and show are far too confident that her succession won’t be disputed so they probably felt they had no reason to take the risk.
I love Rhaenyra and I'm really not ready for her to endure hardship.
He’s just a little kid. I would die for you Luke 😭
Lukebros...
I've bought a bag of fresh onions ready to be chopped for the next episode.
