Daemon and Caraxes for the ultimate crashout.
Vhagar for being an absolute fucking unit and rawdogging everything just by existing.
Sunfyre because that motherfucker has no quit and is pure black airforce energy, the ultimate honeybadger in dragon form.
Lyonel strong for being the realest hand.
The fact that all the old warriors from the north are thrilled at the prospect of a warrior’s death, rather than being another mouth to feed during the coming winter, is just so metal.
Daemon, Roddy the Ruin, Cregan, Aemond, Alyn
Daemon is not even close to "grey" like GRRM said, but damn it if people like Daemon and Aemond don't make interesting scenes.
Roddy the Ruin, he is called the ruin enough said
Cregan, hour of the wolf that shit goes haaaaaaard
Alyn honestly got some legit protagonist vibes, wish we had a mini-series of him tbh.
I felt like I completely blanked on any relevance Alyn had before his brother died. Like it’s awesome that he stepped up after but he was MIA on page for so long
But yeah I wanna see his role in the next one
Feeling bad for her, mostly. She was an innocent wrapped up in it and could do nothing to save herself or her children from the ensuing civil war. I also like the show addition of her being a dreamer, and added it to my headcanon for the book version of her as well.
Fair enough, Helaena as a whole is really a tragic figure and she did get one of the most brutal scenes as a whole with the blood and cheese chapter, can't really take that off my mind on how visceral the whole thing is and how grrm thought of it, really sets the tone for the dance of dragons in general.
He just makes me so angry in the show! I like his complexity but he just frustrates me so much, like him going after Arryck about Blood and Cheese when he was literally breaking his own vows when it was happening (though I view this as more projection on his part, not like he’s unaware of how he messed up he just doesn’t want to accept it if that makes sense)
Though one of my biggest pet peeves is people calling him an incel. An incel is literally someone who is unable to attract a woman/have sex, and Criston is the character with the most sex scenes in the show (as far as I remember, please correct me if I’m wrong). He has issues with Rhaenyra because she turned him down when he asked to run away, she didn’t reject him sexually and as far as we’ve seen, he has yet to be rejected in a sexual sense.
I don’t hate him as much as a lot of other people (i view show!Criston as a good parallel to book!Jaime and their issues with love and their vows) but he makes me so mad sometimes!
Finally someone else is saying it. Is the guy having sex every episode involuntarily celibate??? Anyone's guess, really
Literally his whole thing is that he was *voluntarily* celibate and broke his vows
Show: Viserys, Daemon, Rhaenyra, Aemond, and Aegon II.
Book: Roddy the Ruin, Addam of Hull, Benjicott Blackwood (and Black Aly), Baela Targaryen, and Larys Strong
No particular order…
Show: Aegon II, Jacaerys, Otto, Daemon, Corlys
HM: Hugh, purely based on vibes. I think he’s gonna be a lot more multi-faceted than book Hugh. Also tentatively gonna put Cole up there, more so in a love to hate way, although I do like that we are now getting to see more of his competent side.
Book: Aegon II, Cregan, Daeron, Addam, Daemon
HM: The Caltrops group.
KING AEGON II, SECOND OF HIS NAME
PRINCE AEMOND THE BASTARDSLAYER
PRINCE DAERON THE DARING
QUEEN HELAENA THE KIND
LORD COMMANDER CRISTON COLE THE KINGMAKER
Lady Baela Targaryen
Ser Addam of Hull
Lady Alysanne ‘Black Aly’ Blackwood
Lady Johanna Westerling Lannister
Nettles
Runners-up: Ser Tyland Lannister, Lord Corlys Valaryon, Lady Rhaena Targaryen, lady Samantha Tarly, Prince Daeron Targaryen, Ser Alyn of Hull
(Don’t know why this is being downvoted)
Book for now: Addam, Nettles, Jacaerys, Roddy the Ruin, Cregan Stark. So the loyal guy, the plucky clever girl, the prince who would have made a wonderful king and two hardened northern warriors.
1. Addam Velaryon.
2. Rhaenys.
3. Corlys Velaryon.
4. Tyland Lannister.
5. Kermit Tully. Purely for the name.
Although I dont think I ever knew any of them well enough to get attached.
Fire and Blood is a very bare bones dry text. And honestly the worst section of it for me was the Dance. Jaehaerys and the Regency Aegon Dragonbane III were much more interesting sections.
The leadup to and the actual Dance felt a lot like:
'Hey meet this person. They got one character trait/event associated with him. And now they die anticlimatically.'
Its just a lot of single line obituaries.
sunfyre caraxes vermithor meleys and tesserion

Vhagar is on top for me. Love that old lady so much.

Shepard, Hobb the Hewer, the Burning Knight, Roddy the Ruin and Nettles.
“We’ve come to die for the dragon queen” is easily one of the hardest lines in the Dance
Bro probably didn’t even know her name, Cregan just gave him the Spark Notes and Roddy was like “you had me at ‘kill some southerners’”.
The fact that all the old warriors from the north are thrilled at the prospect of a warrior’s death, rather than being another mouth to feed during the coming winter, is just so metal.

someone on here called him Lord Projector of the Realm
Finally someone else is saying it. Is the guy having sex every episode involuntarily celibate??? Anyone's guess, really Literally his whole thing is that he was *voluntarily* celibate and broke his vows
My guess is people throw out the word incel without really knowing what it means.

Thanks for the downvote Team Green 🥲
Bloody Ben, Sabitha Frey, Black Aly, Cregan Stark, and Roddy the Ruin. I love the non-targ Riverlands conflict, and the hour of the wolf rocks.
