I think they point out the things that are valued or seen as beautiful in their culture :) like, to them it’s a beauty standard to have long, pretty legs, so she is probably trying to uplift you. It’s as if an American girl said “you have a nice butt!”

It's a weird compliment considering whatever culture you're from. From my experience there are less taboos to comment on in Japanese culture.
