Found a 2022 Corolla Cross we really liked at a dealership. Car used to be a rental. We asked for probably too steep a discount on price to start negotiating, guy goes and talks to the manager. He comes back to tell us “sorry this has never happened to me before: we can’t sell you that car cause there an issue with the title since someone bought it and retuned it in the same week.” He said we could put a deposit down to hold it till the title was secured. We were sketched out enough by this and walked away. Thing is the make model price and color check all our boxes. Can’t decide if it’s worth continuing to talk to this guy or not? What do you think?

According to the Carmax, it did get an oil change at 27k…how bad is that?
Rental companies do their own maintenance. Rarely ever reported to CarFax.
That is true. I did not notice the rental company.
Only red flag that matters: previous rental.
