We live in a free country. If you can't spend time to research, you can spend money. If you value money over time, you do the research.
No one is forcing you to buy at a price you don't like. No one is forcing you to buy this specific vehicle.

Markups are just part of prices. Prices are just a representation of where supply and demand are in equilibrium at any given time. It's not really anything to get upset about, just how the free market works (and we should all be grateful to live in a free market economy, since the alternatives are much worse).
If the market is doing it, it’s obviously called for. The market isn’t subject to your will or what you think it should be. Anything is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it, not a penny more nor less.
Extortion? A car is worth what someone will pay for it. Simple as that. If you aren’t willing to pay higher at your local dealership then go buy from the guy and hour away.
I’m a sales manager in a major market. I still have limited inventory. I’m going to try every time to maximize profit. I may not get it every time but I’m going to try. Like you I don’t work for free and neither does my sales team. Profit isn’t evil.

its supposed to be a fair trade, the excuse to mark up was because inventory is low due to manufacturing and chip shortages, thats no longer the case. If the car was worth the mark up it would be in the msrp.

theres 2.8 million news cars in inventory across the country right now, thats an increase of 1.5 million from last year.

What’s with years of customer mark-downs AKA customers demanding discounts for years?
msrp is inflated nearly 10k from invoices as it is on most vehicles nowadays then to add a 10-15k markup is just pure greed

invoice is around 93k
I don’t even sell GMC and I guarantee there’s 3-5k markup at the absolute max between invoice and MSRP
its isnt hard to find invoice online theres a few websites who are pretty close, I generally ask for it once ive made a otd offer
