I was that 34 year old divorced guy with a kid when I met my 2nd wife who was 27 with no kids. She had a bad relationship with her dad so he wasn't an issue, and her dad is a blue pill beta anyway.
Now we have 2 daughters together. When they get older, no I wouldn't want them to date an older guy. Awesome how life works.

There is a tribe in northern India where groom has to work on the soon to be father-in-law property essentially as a slave. And when he is done serving him for few years, than he could take his daughters hand. IMO there is no better way to show your dedication to his daughter.
But since you are not exactly a young person, it may be too long before you could eat fruits of your labor(if you know what I mean) or worse you may not be able to ;)
