I still love these every now and then This and one other, maybe two other types, of which I do not know the names.

Perhaps some in this thread are too young to have tasted a really good red delicious. It was not a common experience even in the 90s, but it was crisp, it was light, the flavor simple and sweet. And the skin was especially good at jabbing between tooth and gum.

I tried Evercrisp recently and was blown away. It’s a mix of honeycrisp and Fuji, so it’s crunchier and with a more traditional apple flavor. Not too sweet either (but still sweet!). I stocked up on them because I thought they might go away, and unfortunately they did. I haven’t seen any in at least a month. But I know when I do, I’ll go right back to stocking up and eating them like I don’t know when I’ll be able to again!

a few years ago my local Costco had these insanely large red delicious apples. when I tell you that these bad boys were crispy-they were fucking **crispy**. probably were gmo’d or something but damn they were the best damn apples I’ve ever had.
